Lewis mcclear posted on twitter Amsterdam tomorrow anyone know if been let go as doubt they would get anytime off in first week of pre season he's not really had, much game time as broke through same time as Morgan

Yeah, it's over a year and a half since he last played 90 mins for us. Seems to be well down the pecking order. Same age as Baird, Mallan, O'Brien and Smith but nowhere near the same game time.

  2. I implied nothing of the sort - I stated simple facts.

You won't have to go far to be proven wrong -Man City loaned him to Huddersfield. [emoji106]

The fact is he was released by every club until his latest proposed move. That's not to say he hasn't shown talent & promise over the years, but at no point until now has he been a £10 million player, as one confused poster stated he was when we let him go...

We'll have to agree to disagree on him being 'released' as I don't regard us as having released Dorman, Higdon etc nor PSG having released Zlatan.

Fair enough re Huddersfield. For some reason I thought u meant in Australia. Though even that is an exceptional circumstance as I dont think Man City ever intended to play him. His signing there was always a means to an end.

I take ur point though. No one ever thought he was going to be the guy running midfield in the EPL play off final. Some folk though did think he never got a fair crack of the whip with us.

  3. I never called him a reject.

Melbourne passed him onto the sister club who then loaned him to a lower league cub.

He was released from his contract each time he left a club - everything else is speculation... [emoji6]

But you implied he was though, at several clubs.

Happy to be proven wrong but I can see no record of a loan to a lower league club.
What I heard from an A-league fan was he was outstanding every season in Australia.
  4. He didn't. Wasn't a £10m player at that point. Arrived at Saints for nothing from Bolton. Left Saints on a free to go to Western Sydney Wanderers. They then also released the "£10 million player" for zilch, and he went on to Melbourne City. He left them - also for free would you believe? Signed for Man City and was immediately loaned out to Huddersfield, where he impressed and is now about to sign for them permanently for a fee in the region of £10 million - a drop in the ocean for newly promoted Huddersfield, guaranteed at least around £100 million even if they finish bottom of the league.

Imagine every club he's ever played for letting Mooy go for nothing, until he finally went for what is huge sum to most teams, but peanuts to a team in the English Premier League...

    FFS...

There's a difference between letting a player go for nothing and a player not being interested in extending his contract.

How do you know which was the case at Sydney and Melbourne?

From Wikipedia: "During his time with Melbourne City, Socceroos manager Ange Postecoglou labelled him the "best and most exciting player in the A-League", while former Socceroo goalkeeper Mark Bosnich described him as "the best Australian midfielder playing anywhere in the world"

Doesn't sound like a reject to me.

Surely Joe Hart was the real cock out there. Two howlers !!

I've never liked Leigh Griffiths but what he did for Scotland tonight was above and beyond my expectations. You have to applaud those two strikes. Well played Griffiths.

I'm confused! Were the goals "two howlers" or two strikes to be applauded? I don't see how it can be both.

  6. Are you insinuating that the self employed, like taxi drivers for example, may be using the system to avoid paying tax?
    Shame on you Mr Nipper.
This will all be sorted by that increase in NI contributions for the self employed that was announced in the March budget...

    .... and then scrapped.

Is Clarkson still under contract?  Surely we need to get this guy off the books asap.

No, he's out of contract. Not expected to be fit until sometime in 2018 by which time he will be 32 and will have scored 3 league goals in the last 3 years.

    I'd say he's goosed.

I didn't work this out myself. I found the info on facebook but

"Raith beat Hibs, St Mirren beat Raith, Ayr beat Hibs, Dumbarton lose to Utd then

Ayr beat Raith, St Mirren draw with Hibs and Dumbarton draw with Falkirk

All 4 teams will have 39 points" (albeit Ayr's goal difference is terrible)

Exciting stuff! what's the odds on all that happening

Coral will give you 208/1 on the first 4 results. For all 7 results it will be at least 8000/1 I would think, probably more!

    What's the latest odds SS?

Sorry mate, didn't see your reply. There has been quite a change in the odds to finish bottom......

    Ayr 4/6
    Raith 4/1
    Dumbarton 5/1
    St Mirren 5/1

Just shows what a remarkable improvement we have made considering we were 1/6 and Ayr were 8/1 back in January!

Time for" We are all in this together" calls , a call to arms if we like , GLS isn't getting rid of Jack he says this season or next . We really need to get behind the team ( Jack included) to try and get us out this hole.

I just like every Saints fan don't want to be playing in Division One next season ,so time to back the guys "One Town ,One Team".

They have been getting backed. 700 Saints fans went to an away game on Saturday, more Saints fans were outside and couldn't get in. They were rewarded with another bizarre team selection and disappointing performance.
