  1. Unbelievable, only narrow minded arsehole Saints fans could turn a simple question about watering holes for a preseason friendly into a bigotted rant. Get over it, we live in the West of Scotland, not every one in Paisley supports The Saints [of course they SHOULD do]. My 2 brothers are "******** c@nts" according to you fools but one of them is the same brother who used to drive me all over the country to see The Saints when I was too young to drive.

Has a previous post been deleted or are you having a tantrum for nothing?

Don´t see any reference to ******** cunts anyway.

  2. That's the one, revamped from the original Paisley Canal Street railway station as a Beefeater pub/restaurant around 1987/8.

Whatever happened to the wee toy train that used to zoom about yon beefeater? I loved that train!

  3. Click the link to hear three tracks. In providing this link, I am in no way endorsing or condoning listening to such bland pish.

    Findo Gask

was going to say it´s a bit overproduced....but then realised if you took all the production away it would just be a bloke playing the same couple of chords on the bass over and over.

you do get some odd topics on here.

  4. How did this thread run so far without anyone ripping the pish out of whoever it was that said Pearl Harbour?! That is one of the WORST movies of all time, and certainly the worst "war" movie.

On the other hand glad to see Paths of Glory mentioned, get your hands on it if you haven´t seen it!

    No takers for Braveheart?!

  5. 1. Graham Fenton (can't forgive him for not passing to the unmarked McGarry at C***ic Park and electing to take it himself, missing in the process - cost us a valuable point or 3...)

    2. Derek Scrimgeour - heart-in-mouth time every time there was a cross ball

    3. Moussa Dagnogo - remember him??

    4. Ronnie McQuilter - horrible yellow car

    5. Billy Mehmet - very poor

Can't pull the trigger on Jose - he was at least entertaining.

Putting Dagnogo in there is totally unfair. The bloke only started 2 games and he scored in one of them. If his name was Tam Smith and he came from Renfrew there is no way he would be remebered as a dud....or even at all probably. He was just here at the wrong time and has a funny name.

Paul McKnight would be a much better nomination.

  6. I'd join for a fiver or, at a push, tenner a year.

Remember, lots of St Mirren supporters are students, in unsecure jobs, struggling artists, underpaid authors, unemployed, unemployable, in Africa or just old fashioned tight bastards like Shull. Current fees are too high if Smisa wants to truely represent the whole St Mirren support.

I think the ideas above such as getting more involved in youth development and the Renfrewshire community in general is a good idea. Ditto the one about representing the fans with issues such as away stewarding...about time we stood up for ourselves a bit more!

Another idea could be using the funds to try and help boost the atmosphere at Love Street, Aberdeen's red ultras being the group to copy on that one. A petition to stop music being blasted out before the game and killing all atmosphere could be a good place to start on that one.

  7. Sorry to agree with you Grounded but German has to be the worst for me. Not all of Germany, Berliners and the like are ok. There is part of the country that seems to speak in a very irritating, hitch pitched tone though...this is particularly bad among the female half of the population.

When they speak German or English it is just about bareable but when they speak Spanish it makes me want to smash their pretty little German faces in to the ground. Being Germans, they like to go about a task methodically and when in Spain seem to insint in only speaking Spanish, no matter how many times you tell them to, no, beg them to, speak English...a language they have half a chance of not murdering.

Having read that back it looks a bit harsh. But, honestly, that accent REALLY is annoying!

Boston (USA), Dudley and Paisley ned would have to be the other ones I can´t stand.

Southern English is fine to my ears, it´s the words they are saying which usually put me off them.

  8. 1. Boards of Canada - The Campfire Headphase

The electronic tchuchters have done it again! Excellent! More guitar influenced than their previous work but these brothers must be the best Scottish band around just now bar none!

    2. Sufjan Stevens - Illinois

This guy is trying to make an album inspired by every American state...this is number two!! He's got a long way to go but he can keep trying if he going to keep banging out tunes like this. Some of the stories are based on real people, places and events while others are blatant myth but all are utterly fascinating. His first album (Michigan) sounded a lot more rooted in Folk but this album varies between genres a lot more. If you like Stereolab, They might be giants, Devo etc then buy this!

    3. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah – Clap Your Hands Say Yeah

Critics would probably call it art-rock or something equally stupid but dont let that put you off. Some great tunes on this, big Talking Heads influence. Looking forward to seeing them live in a few months.

    4. The Arcade Fire - Funeral

Excellent indie rock! And its from from Canada!

    5. The Boy Least Likely to - Best Party Ever

nice, happy and funny tunes from a traditional indie pop band.

I also would recommend Sons and Daughters new album as well as Bloc Party, LCD Soundsytem and some of Antony and the Johnsons stuff (though not all, some is really quite pish i think!)

Anyone else got a top 5 of this years albums?

  9. I think if Green Day want to make blatantly commercial music with the purpose of selling records and making money they should at least be honest about it and drop this "punk" crap.

If Green Day are Punk then Robbie Williams is Rock, Celtic fans are the best supporters in the world and Jim Davidson is a comedian.

  10. Thats a bit harsh Green Day are a decent band and have been going for years. Its amazing when a group becomes successful the music police on here start slagging them because its not hip. I am an old foegy if a group or singer belts a decent tune i will listen to them hip or not. Sorry

Thats all well and good but Green Day ARE the american version of Busted!

  11. One of my fav bands. They come to the uk every year and only play about 4 gigs one of which is the QMU in Glasgow. Great live band, I would recommend the DVD “I am trying to break your heart†By Wilco. It’s very powerful documentary of the making of “Yankee Hotel Foxtrot “album where the band sack one of the members then the record company drop them.

If I knew who you were Bud The Baker I would be quite happy to let you borrow it.

Saw Wilco at the QM last year - totally superb! Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is easily one of the best albums of the decade so far.
