So should they get a six month top up, and become quote "the highest paid manager in StMirrens history" or should common sense prevail and we accept the compo and invext in SMFC nt JR's retirement fund..?

We should do all we can within reason to hold on to him in my opinion, then again I wasn’t the one slating him from day one with names like Jack Dross etc. So I can see why you ain’t too bothered.

Here on one issue you can see the turmoil that lies ahead when we move to complete fan ownership. Over the last almost two years the common theme you could pick out of most themes among fans was.

Our future in our own hands

    no sugar daddy

live within our means.... etc.. etc...

now a manager who already engineered a whopping pay rise the last time he was linked with a club looks like he will be offered yer another one within months and somehow clear thinking and  fiscal prudence go out the window. How fickle the football fan..! All this for a manager who hasnt yet! Won anything, but got his last club relegated.

should we just keep offering him more..? Or should we pay the going rate and invest in OUR future..?

If Jack, and James, got the whopping pay rises you claim then it has been more than paid back with increased footfall at Greenhill Road.:)

Thats a real selective recollection Sonny, that run of defeats under Ross was dire, and despite what some believe if he hadnt arrested it the pressure on the board to do something would have seen him replaced. Also the facts surrounding players who moved on, you say two are at a higher level, is Hardie not just been loaned from Rangers to Livi, and scoring? is Shankland not scoring for fun at table toppers Ayr, have Walsh, Hutton and Carswell not blossomed in this league?

yes all of them for one reason or another didnt click with us. But they are doing so very well for other managers, why is that?

Ayr United are now 8 points behind Raith and no longer table toppers and appear headed for the play offs, perhaps against that star studded Dumbarton line up.

No doubting Hardie’s but it is his attitude that appears to be the problem and Ross did not have the time to work on it as he needed guys to do it for him right there and then.

Walsh, Hutton and Carswell are doing so very well?  Last time I looked at the table Dumbarton were second bottom and have scored only 15 in 22.  Walsh wasn’t that bad but the other two were chancers.  Also Carswell was released by Rae and never played under Ross.

I’m just glad we showed patience and didn’t submit to the knee jerking from some of our fans.

  5. A week and a half ago we were being told that Queens were in good form, that Dobbie was going to rip us a new one and that we would be lucky to get a point.  Now it’s Queens are in free fall, will lose 3 times to United and are in financial trouble.  As Jimmy Greaves would say ‘it’s a funny old game Saint’.
