I don't think it was a case of wanting him out.Our knowledgable support wanted DL out! Don't know who they thought was going to come in and do any better!
I feel it was more a case of you have signed over a dozen diddy players wasted 10s of thousands if not more the board supported him as much as it could, Then he ran out of ideas and I think most of us felt he had done all he could do.
Regardless of the cup win I think he would be thought of in a good way due to the way he carried himself.
But given the board gave TC the gig without interviewing anyone we will never know who could have been brought in to replace DL..
But hopefully we will find out soon enough.

Players do not deserve a night out things like these should be earned.TC's daughter lives in London so while the player's are enjoying a christmas night out in Manchester he will be visiting his daughter in London not necessarily scouting for players as he claims.

This is the kind of situation when I think football contracts are absolutely ridiculous!
If I was doing my job as ineptly and as badly as him I would be given 3 warnings then sacked no compo zilch hee haw regardless if I was on a contract or not .
So why does the football business still maintain in having to compensate idiots like TC, Especially when he comes out with a pre match comment of 3 points aren't important today he is an absolute deluded fool.

Alec Bone one of Saints great strikers come on????????Not seen the guy yet, but some of the best strikers St Mirren ever included Bone, Somner, Lavety & Yardley who would all be classed as big boned in todays standards.
If Hendrie deployed Yardley as his centre forward throughout SPL 00/01 then I reckon we would have stayed up.
As long as he knows the way to goal and can score then sometimes carrying a physical presence can be an advantage over centre halfs who are often big themselves.

Still 6 players more than us!Why should we be worried about Dundee? 2 years ago we finished 11 points ahead of them in a season where we took the foot off the gas in the league after winning the League Cup. Since then Dundee have splashed out on lots of signings like Harkins, McGowan, McPake, Thomson who haven't played for teams finishing in the top 6 for ages. Even when McPake and Thomson played in a Hibs team with Leigh Griffiths scoring oodles of goals they couldn't finish in the top 6... once Griffiths left they played for a Hibs team who got relegated. (PS I wonder if Dundee fans are moaning that they have lost 14 players over the summer and only brought in 9 so far).
