1. 1/ You complain about some youngsters car stereo being too damn loud.

2/ You remember when everything used to be bigger :(

3/ You KNOW that you are easily the best driver on the roads

4/ You seek out a quiet pub...so you can have a sensible conversation. :(

5/ You meet your friends kids in the pub/street and remember when they were just a wean. :(

....No.6 would be....you read Bill's posts and start to nod in agreement some of it. :P

    Just think Nombre....

    Many years from now....

You'll be able to say to your grandchildren...

"I remember when you could go to a pub and have a smoke inside...."

    :P

  2. The only other team that I envy for anything is Dungfertline............

They actually run out to a decent tune, 'Into the Valley' by the Skids....................

The Thin Lizzy number we use is okay as a song but what's it got to do with the Buds....................?

Our aprés goal tune doesn't even deserve a mention.....................

It's total pants and Clydebank use it too...............

I agree, the Tom Hark thing is getting a bit fecking old hat now. Would be nice indeed to ditch altogether it as Bill Lees says.

I remember the song the OLD Airdrie had at New Broomfield as an aprés goal tune tho...who else remembers ripping the piss out of them for that duing the 3-2 night-time victory...?

And Joe...like the sentiments but that picture...nightshift? :o:ph34r:

  3. I thought that was funny as f*ck. The Pet Shop Boys were being very critical of U2, saying they represented all that they didn’t like about music, stadium rock and such like, so they went way over the top with it.

Bono was asked what he thought about what the PSB said, the press thinking they’d get a juicy slagging match, and his answer was merely, “what have I, what have I, what have I done to deserve this?â€.

Aye that's it Greig...wasn't it during the whole U2 vs Simple Minds thing or am I remembering wrong?

  4. Pet Shop Boys, they murdered Where The Streets Have No Name as well

That version is class...I remember U2 were quoted as saying after it "What did we do to deserve this?"

Besides, it's one of two inspirations for me popularising the doo-doo's immediately before "We Love You Kirky...", as well as the early pub scene in the Deer Hunter. :D

Computer thicko Herbie strikes again. :(

I know it's probably dead simple, but if you want to reply to various posts at the same time, how do you include multiple quotes?

    Gives you...

I normally just C&P the bit up there, changing the details to match the poster, date & time.

    Hope that helps. :)

  6. BVB makes a good point...if we do make the step up, we might just miss some of the places we've been able to get to in the last few years. Makes me wish the top flight in Scotland was a fair bit bigger tbh...but anyway, ASSUMING we go up...

    1) - As ST says, the flag raising ceremony. :)

    2) - Seeing bigger crowds at LS and a decent away support in the Caley Stand again. It's just not the same for the atmosphere at LS without that.

    3) - Being able to get to the grounds I've missed there (Pittodrie, Tynecastle, Tannadice & Castle Greyskull) and enduring the shit treatment and mutant home fans at said venues for the first time.

    4) - Seeing players like DVZ, Potter, Kirky, Lappin, Corky, Keano etc get a crack at top flight football with us and seeing how well they cope with the step up in class.

    5) - Getting the opportunity to have SMFC get steamed into every one of the miserable c'nt teams in the SPL including F"kirk, the Dung & ICT and take our rightful place, making ourselves a real fixture of top flight football in this country once more for years to come! :D

  7. Must be early retirement, he can't be any more than 56 or 57.

Aye, was only a couple of years ago now. Cinemasaint, you hear who got the headmaster job at GHS after him? Nicholls. :o

To say I was shocked was a fecking understatement. :o

  8. Oi Jazza,I didnae realise you were a real DJ 'til I saw you in action in the S B last night.

Watch your back Tiger Tim

That mean we know what we're going to do after the Tiger's gone?

  9. I had a similar problem ages ago. It turned out to be a prblem with the local nameserver. The bad news is, NTL technical support hadn't a fúckin clue what was wrong or how to fix it. It just gradually came back all by itself.

Cheers Div & Reidy...and for the honesty Toon :P

So guys, should I actually need to do anything or do you think things will just sort themselves out without me tampering with things?

Aye, ntl tech support are utterly useless. We should prolly move from them but everything's locked in as it is, TV, (analog cable for terrestrial and sport as we're in a shitty reception area) phone, the lot...

  10. Tonight's been a bit strange on the net here...some things started playing up earlier. For starters it was just google (my homepage) so I thought they were having a problem as every other site seemed to be fine (and still does). Tried google earth to see if that'd work and sure enough that was only able to get things that were already in the cache as it couldn't get onto the server.

Cleared the cookies and temp internet files as per normal when dealing with probs, and that seemed to do the trick, but it seems a few other things are a bit iffy now. In doing a set of scans (Spybot S&D, AdAware & Norton) I was able to update S&D & AdAware but getting onto Norton's LiveUpdate was a non-starter. No problems were found at all in any of the scans though, which was obviously good....

Then lately, I've not been able to get onto AIM as the service can't be reached, and even MSN was dodgy for a few minutes though I'm back on it now. Couldn't even get album info from Windows Media Player for ripping some CDs. God knows if I'll be able to get back on msn when I log off after this session mind. :o

I'm on ntl broadband and checked to see if there's any planned service disruption, and sure enough there's meant to be some stuff going on in this area...but this feels more like a problem here than there...I mean, surfing anywhere else is fine... *touchwood* - I'd expect the whole freaking thing to be out if that's where the probs are.

Anyone got any idea what the feck is going on?

  11. I was told by the barmaid in the biggest whisky bar on Islay that the only way to drink malt whisky is with a lump of ice.

    219388

Just gies the whisky straight out the bottle. :P

If I want an ice cube, I'll treat it as a munchable....... :D

  12. The sound of music is dross but does contain the famous Tartan Army number "Doh a dear, a female dear"

Had to actually watch it to learn that song before travelling to Germany as few years back to see Scotland  :(

    219238

You do realise you could've just bought the Tartan Army songbook instead....

  13. One man and his dog.Sure I saw that advertised last  week....or something like it.Magic watchin the wee collie dugs herdin the sheep.  :D

    218690

I'm used to that - Bonnie (our 16 year old collie cross) used to try doing that for years up the Braes with anyone/thing she saw....

  14. Aye whatever. Never had a problem with that site, even used it this morning. Must be your PC :P

    218660

Aye bollocks, you told me it had nasty stuff on it to look out for. If you'd mentioned the word trojan however I'd have never gone near it, £25 or not. :o

Hanging around sites like that, you're mental.....

  15. Well, he seemed to think so. What I'd really like to see would be a follow up on some of these deals to see whether it all went pear-shaped or if they made a success of things with the Dragons' dosh.

    218652

Meant to be such a show in the near future. Was advertised after last night's wasn't it?

  16. The lesson is simple. Stay legit. It may cost money but is saves a lot of time and effort and frustration. And name calling

    218639

I just don't like the fact that on my old machine, I used to be able to upload stuff to my webspace easily with IE...and now, for whatever reason I can't. Ended up needing to download an ftp program that ntl recommended, and to continue using it after 30 days I need to fork out £25. Ripping off bastards.

  17. Yeah i've found myself drawn to that and i dont even like wee Noel. It's a wonderfully simple concept but you have to watch from the start to appreciate it. Wonder if there is a banker or if wee Noel just whitters on to himself.

    218618

Agree with this about Deal or No Deal, and also think Dragons Den is pretty good as well. At least there's a point to DD unlike so many reality style TV shows. Watched it last night - bugger that got £225k for selling 50% of his company to two of the Dragons did well eh?

As for Deal or No Deal, think there is a banker...one of the contestants talked to the guy one time as I remember but that don't prove anything I suppose.
