You never started a thread for my birthday ya roaster. In fact you didn't even meet me for a pint as promised at the Hearts game.

I think that's the third carbon copy goal Boyd has scored against us plus a couple of others. We appear to play a high line against him on exactly the basis you point out however from what I can see he is actually QUICKER than our CBs. I doubt that is raw speed but he has a good footballing brain and can pull off his designated marker onto the slower defender. He also plays right on the shoulder of his marker so despite a lack of raw pace I would hazard a guess we are playing him all wrong as once he has got in behind and is in on goal he, as top all time league scorer, invariably buries it. A high line with 20-30 metres in behind is not the way to play Boyd unless you have a fast mobile CB. Perhaps defending him a little deeper might be the answer in future.
We could always hope someone just go through him in the first minute and he has to hobble off.
Why is it we always find one striker per season that rips us apart. Do we not do our homework or as you say play these guys differently. At the moment its Boyd, last season it was Leigh Griffiths and before that Skatchel at Hearts.

I listened to the game and heard mention of booing but never heard them say it was Saints .Was it not Killie fans booing Harkins?
Could it have been the fact fans not happy at taking the Hawk off?

What a two faced bawbag Adams is. He was clearly at the fourth official whining his face off to get game stopped, so he goes out and says in papers 'let's have the Dutch system to see out a result' a what a load of pish.
Facts are he saw an opportunity to get a 2-0 drubbing reversed and set back to 0-0 and he used the weakness of Collum to do so.
St Mirren ought to request photographers shots of Adams conduct in the dug out and get them sent onto the SFA so he can get done for behaving like a fud.
Collum should be sent to the juniors for his 'my only concern is the players' comment on radio. Supporters are life blood of football and we know he's a twonk but should be made to apologise for that.
Maybe in the replayed game if Adams feels so strongly as it seems he does in the papers about starting at 2-0 ,once the game kicks off he should give us 2 early unopposed goals.

STV Grant says there's nothing to report about players coming in yet, but that may change after the game today. He does says however there is a chance of a fringe player moving on. Lee Mair?

Just back from the game and feeling gutted, we had more than enough chances to win the game in the 2nd half but we blew it. Gowser's penalty miss proved to be crucial, and why did we switch off after Thompson scored. We seemed to be all over Queens and on the ascendancy, but once again we gave away two shockingly poor goals.
Some people on the bus home seem to think that defeat on Sat will see Danny gone, but it will cost us to pay up his contract and whoever get's the gig will have no cash for players.
Talk of protests against Danny on twitter now, they better be careful what they wish for.

From the radio it sounded like Cornell had been pulling off decent saves all night. I think he is getting an unfair amount of criticism- he didn't seem at all bad last few couple of times I saw him.
I'm critical of Lennon but I think a wee bit of a reality check needed at the moment. Tonight wasn't make or break for Lennon, although it is thoroughly disappointing.
SPL clubs have hit the rocks at Palmerston before- Hibs last year at the same stage and it was a very tough unseeded team to get. Killie went out at home to Hamilton and Stranraer put 3 past Ross County to win- underdogs do sometimes rise up to beat the 'bigger team'.
Lets move on, focus on Saturday and see where we are after that.
A solid defence gives a goalkeeper some confidence. I can't imagine ours gives him much of that at the moment.

Nothing much happening thus far. Queens look tidy but unspectacular, they've had the only half chance with a curling effort which drifted wide. We haven't really done anything.
