Aye the squaddie as he was affectionately known, I'm sure there was a story at the time that the army fixed him up with a job at the recruitment office in addition to playing for us.Did he not come from the army? Played a bit under Hendrie, think we wanted to sign him for another season, but he opted to go south. We got promoted and he got forgotten about!

Yeah, while the article is probably news to non Saints, it's nothing we haven't known for years.http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32312799
Another BBC article on our season.
It's fair enough as it goes, but I don't think any of us expect the club to spend money it doesn't have. We're all well used to that, have accepted that for decades and most of us agree with that policy.
What the article doesn't reflect is the vast amount of money (for a club of our size) wasted on our shambolic player recruitment over the past couple of years, including the amount of money used to pay off players in the last 2 January transfer windows.
If we were being relegated simply because Ross Co, Motherwell and others were spunking away money like nobodies business (like in season 2000/01), I could accept that. But we're not and I think we're being relegated because of poor managerial and player recruitment over a number of recent years, and I have more problems accepting that.
Obviously we'll never know how much money was wasted on paying off Imrie, Harkins, Grainger, Caldwell, Marwood, feel free to complete the list.
I'd wager the money wasted would have gone some way to helping us get Scott McDonald in January or one of Tommy's targets from his infamous piece of paper.

They have to, they'd be playing a dangerous game if they don't.That's my concern. They should but will they?
Going into next season with Teale in charge(or any other current employee of the club for that matter)would have a massive implication on season ticket sales.
If Gilmour thinks the current criticism of the board is unfair...
-
Absolutely no point in bagging Teale now as any replacement would be temporary till the end of the season.
Just let the season play out, only 5 games to go, thank feck.
They should however be identifying experienced candidates to approach/invite to apply when this debacle of a season is finally over.

I'd agree, even Mallan and McGinn have been shite for the most part this season. In all seriousness, there isn't a single one of them I'd keep for next season.
-
I said he cares. Which is more than can be said for Arquin. How interested has he looked in recent matches?
-
What is that meant to mean?Hmm....
-
As well getting Thommo on, at least he cares.
-
Does anyone have contact details for Gary McVie?
I'd always considered him to be the worst striker I'd ever seen in my 35 years watching the Saints.
I owe him an apology, Arquin has stolen the award.
-
Well, in answer to everyone's requests.
-
Getting the club sold to some forward thinking individuals would beat staying up or winning the cup.

Sadly for the first time in my 30 odd years supporting St Mirren that's how I feel. The BOD are in the main St Mirren fans.
They don't appear to give a flying f**k about the fortunes of the club this season, or indeed last.
We are going down with a whimper, as opposed to a fight.
Why should the fans be overly concerned when those in charge of the club aren't?
I've seen us relegated from top flight before, I've seen worse things happen. Meh...
Why should I juggle things in my personal life such as getting babysitters, swapping shifts at work(which I've regularly done before)and ultimately spending money to go and watch the team when I feel that the BOD don't give a shit and sadly it's beginning to look like the players are resigned to the inevitable.
-
McGinn would do well to learn from Kenny, i.e if you want a move play out of your skin every week and get noticed.
For whatever reason he's been poor this season, although there's no doubting he's got talent.
If we go down, he'll be away, probably best for both parties.

Money was very unlucky to be backup when we had good keepers like Leighton and Goram. It's always been the way. How many Scotland squads was Campbell Money in, yet he never got on the park once?
It's still going on, John Fleck was in a Scotland squad after 2 or 3 games a few years ago, and that Calum MacGregor from Sellic was in a squad earlier this season after a couple of decent games in Europe.
It's a lot of pish, always has been, always will be.
Unfortunately for Dibble, when he retired there was pish like Nicky Walker getting caps.

I'd actually forgotten all about Ball, which is a good thing.Where is ball. And sanoupe. Any body any idea. How the likes of Reilly and Wylde can get ahead of them. For me It should be the other way around

Ok obviously the house analogy doesn't tie in 100% because a football club isn't a house, that's why it's an analogyIn truth the house analagy doesn't add up. If you're selling a house, of course you want to get top dollar - because you'll need to buy another house, unless you plan to live under a rock.
If you're selling something with no intention or need to buy another one, and you can't get rid... Maybe you should look at the price you're asking.
My point is, if after 5 years something is still for sale there's a chance it's overpriced.
-
I think that's part of the problem.Or is it simply the asking price is too high?
If you were as desperate to sell your house as the consortium have claimed to be to sell the club you'd have dropped your asking price considerably if it still hadn't sold after 5 years.

I reckon with this spell out we may have seen the last of Osbourne.
Never really looked fit to me.

Makes me laugh that Gus is constantly linked with a quote that Bobby Williamson made.Sorry, but I'll take relegation before I would welcome wee "If you want entertainment go to the cinema" Gus back. Danny Lennon on the other hand........
-
Yip, best to get another winger/attacking midfielder in.Just read in the Edinburgh Evening News that Saints are interested in Driver who is now back in Scotland.
-
So you'll be giving him a chance in that case.You can say "at least give him a chance" all you like;
I'll get behind him tomorrow, like any other player in a black and white kit but I am absolutely adamant he'll be another dud.
-
Thinking back to when he 'shat' on us, Lennon foolishly blabbed to anyone that would listen that we'd offered him a contract.Oh FFS - seriously? Shat on? Because he chose another employer from Saints?
Melodrama at its finest.
All Gow did was take a better deal with Motherwell.
It signalled the end of Danny's diary on the official site.
