Strange post though yes we have all got opinions.  I really like Big Gary when fit he is an asset to the team proved that last season. Bad luck with injury thankfully he will be able to prove you wrong being back before January.

He`s having bad luck with more than 1 injury.........................

    How do you know this?

Also, why are you in a position to question his injury?

To summarise, what  a crock of shite. :byebye

How i know this is not important, look at posts from 12/9 above, what i`m hearing is similar, next time you`ll see him in a Saints jersey is when an experienced Harry David is fit..................amazing how much confidence playing beside an experienced centre half gives you,and how quickly you regain your fitness knowing this................

I dont get the "why am i in a position to question his injury comment,i am only relaying what i know to answer the question in the topic.

As i said,if we have someone who is becoming injury prone cut them loose,we did with Ben Gordon,we cant afford to keep paying wages to players sitting in the stand at their own behest.

Would you not want to be picking up as many win bonuses as possible if you were him?

  3. going by Tedious Toms post above i`d be in the "sell" category, his thoughts havent been right since that game where he took the headknock.................then he insists his calf is playing up, the 4 weeks to recover from the injection he got + getting back up to match fitness would mean mid november at least before we see him,if he feels up to it. I`d recoup any potential losses in january

Totally agree with you re McShane. Just oozed class. Some pinpoint long distance passes and crosses. Always looking to be progressive and move it forward quickly. Brilliant run and shot for first goal where Reilly picked up rebound. I also predict Buchanan is going to follow same career path as Darren McGregor, especially with JR coaching him now. Aggression he showed for 4th goal great to see.

Hope prediction wrong ref Buchanan, as McGregor f&cked off to the **** first chance he got in spite of us looking after him thro 2 horrific injuries

If Nelms has flown out to speak to Ross, as reported in the Record, then Dundee MUST get their man. Otherwise anyone else they approach will know that they are second choice.

Nelms travelling also indicates that Ross is at least prepared to consider the Dundee job. In which case, my regard for Jack drops considerably. I know that football these days is a cutthroat business, but I thought we had found a man with a bit more integrity than most. If he takes Dundee he will have a reputation as someone who starts jobs but doesn't finish them. I thought he was smarter than that. Even if he stays at Buddies now, I don't think I will look at him in the same way in the future.

Jack Ross IS second choice.........Neil McCann was first

Brilliant bit of business, I thought he was one that would have been beyond us, to be honest I even thought he might get a new deal with Aberdeen. Signing both him and MacKenzie on the same day is fantastic.

along with McGinn we have the makings of a very strong "spine" of the team, just an experienced goalkeeper to finish it off, cant wait til next season now.

Despite him staying I see we're looking to bring in more than one goalie over the summer. Surely a new goalie, Langfield and a youngster would be enough and the money could be better spent elsewhere?

get where you`re coming from but imo a good goalkeeper is  as important as a ball winning centre half or a goal scoring forward. Indeed you could argue goalie more importnant. We finished 3rd top scorers without our forwards bursting nets on a regular basis. We had the other 9 outfield players chipping in. A good goalkeeper on the other hand wins games AND gives the team confidence coming for cross balls, starts attacks with great distribution .  Too often they are underestimated in their importance.

None of us know the details of Stevie Mallans contract which was probably agreed before Fitzpatrick and Scott took over. My guess is that Barnsley made a bid that triggered a release clause that allowed them permission to speak to him. Agents play a huge part in these contract negotiations to protect their asset.

Is Stevies agent not his dad?

Nice to have a stress free weekend. A wander round Hartlepool marina for us today. In the words of Band Aid "Well tonight thank god it's them instead of us."

And if the Barnsley rumours re Mallan are true then we should be quoting Geldof and saying " give us yer fecking money ya cun*....................,all £500,000 "

  10. he`s came in for a fair amount of flak from some earlier in the season, maybe because he has immense talent but doesn`t always produce. Games like yesterday though should be a reminder to appreciate that talent whilst it`s there, it wont last forever. He will have well deserved his move when it comes, and for those there yesterday he left us with a lifetime memory of one of the best goals [if not THE best] we've ever scored at home ....................even better than wee billy davies strike at castle greyskull.

Can someone name me a St Mirren keeper in the last fifteen years who didn't have a shortcoming in their game? I agree on one thing about O'Brien - he doesn't come off his line to deal with some situations that the defenders in front of him expect him to. Surely Langfield is employed at the club now specifically to work on this sort of stuff with the goalies!

Langfield's shortcoming was/is clearly moments of dreadul decision making. Chris Smith's kick-outs were shit.... etc, etc.

We cannot afford to sign a Buffon or Casillas..  I reckon O'Brien is decent.

personally thought Craig "Hinchy" Hinchcliffe was a great keeper for us, don`t recall many shortcomings and I believe he was under 6ft too !!

A few games still to go but I would like to nominate O'Brien, Irvine, Baird, Davis, McKenzie, Stelios, Eckersley, Magennis, Mallan, McGinn, Smith, Morgan, Loy and Sutton as my player of the year - joint award.

sorry to disagree, i`d go for a joint award of Jack Ross and James Fowler.........................
