Said a few weeks ago that Polworth would be a tremendous signing. Impressed me ever time I've seen him.
-
Didn't really see all that much of him to comment. Good luck to him, hope he's shite against us
-
Is this the same Rogers who was on-loan at Falkirk? If so I think he'd be a great signing, was always very impressed with him when he played against us.
As for Watt, I'd be interested to see how he did, certainly a player in there. Still only 24, appears to be about to sign for St Johnstone though.

The guy I'd like to see come in from Caley would be Liam Polworth. Always been really impressed with him. No idea about his contract situation or if he's attracting interest from elsewhere, but I'd definitely be keen to see him join.
-
Not sure the standard of League One in the EFL, seems unlikely that he'd end up there.

Even when the player himself has tweeted that it was not his decision?
I saw that, still, if he'd been sure he wanted to stay he could have signed the deal as soon as it was offered. Not blaming him for waiting to evaluate his options, just pointing out that the decision to stay with the club has been in his hands for a few weeks now.

Home kit looks cheap I think, the combination of the 1 faded stripe and 2 solid ones looks daft, choose one (preferably solid) and stick to it. The red makes it look quite Dunfermliney too. Not into it...
The away kit though...oaft! Class, really like it.

On the Subject of Jackson, I'm happy to reserve judgement. It would be harsh to judge a coach on a club's overall performance when the guy at the top wasn't up to much. There would have been no shortage of coaches who'd have been delighted to come in to a newly promoted club with a talented young squad, it's not a hard sell. To me, that means Stubbs would have had plenty of options and decided Jackson's the best man for the job.
Welcome to the Buddies Darren.

Lewis has signed for Albion Rovers.
Glad to see him back in League Football, always looked a decent prospect.

Good evening (or should I say morning) from one black and white army to another. It seems, according to internet rumours now substantiated by a local BBC journo that we (Grimsby) are about to sign your ex-centre half Harry Davis.

I find it hard to make comparisons between the different levels of Scottish vs English football, but you reckon the lad has what it takes to do a job in League Two. His pedigree in England prior to joining you suggests he would, but then we signed ‘mad’ Gav Gunning from Greenock Morton last season and he was unmitigated disaster (a special case though he clearly was).
Anyway, your thoughts appreciated. All the best in your first season back in the prem!
UTM!
Davis is a good ball playing centre back but not physically big enough to be imposing in the air. Would do best paired with a big dominant defender, he had that sort of partnership with Gary MacKenzie for us last season and it worked very well. Played well over 100 games in League 1 and still only 26, so I'd definitely say he looks to be a good signing for any League 2 side.
I can also add that Gunning was a disaster in the Scottish Championship too, so at least he's performed consistently in both leagues.
Just out of interest, what do you reckon Grimsby's aspirations for the season are? Eyeing promotion/mid table/staying up again?

Neilson from the favourites for me, but can't say any of them are hugely exciting. Not Hopkin, don't think it would work.

Scott fraser is leaving dundee utd at the end of the month would be a decent signing
Been impressed with Fraser a bit 1 footed, but talented and looks dangerous, but I'm sure I'd heard he was heading to Hibs? Might be making that up.
-
I'd be happier with McAllister than Paton. But wouldn't be overjoyed with either.
-
Not convinced by O'Ware, but would happily be proved wrong if he signed. Halkett looks a bit better, but he might fancy a crack at the Prem with Livi.
My worries about both are more or less the same, they're both dominant aggressive centre backs which is great, but they've both been fairly limited in sort of football they've been asked to play. Morton play more football than Livingston, but they're still quite direct. I'd worry a bit about them making the step up and adapting their game to a more passing style at the same time, could be a big ask. Suppose it depends how we're going to play next season.
-
It's all well and good them offering him a big wedge of cash, what he needs to decide is how long they'll be able to continue to pay it to him every week.
More money in the 2nd tier VS Job security in the Big Time...Nicky's call I suppose.

Hopkin isn't responsible for the style of football at Livi. He's just cover for the reality of the situation there.
Got no reason to disbelieve you. Either way, wouldn't want either of them near the club.

Hopkin is a FANNY. David Martindale is the guy who is really in charge at Livi.
Fixed it for you.
He's done well at Livi, but he's one of the last I would want taking over here. We've got football players at this club, imagine putting that ape in charge of them. I couldn't imagine having to watch that type of football every week. Mince.

Hi, Ipswich fan here. Just took note of this comment, whilst Dave Bowman is technically classed as 'DoF', he actually isn't, he's our Chief Scout (we had to give him DoF title as we already had a Chief Scout in place when he teamed up with Mick - our Chief Scout subsequently left after that).
Dave Bowman will be leaving us shortly anyway (will follow Mick wherever he goes), so I don't think Ross would be working under a DoF here.
Cheers.
Fair play. Hope Jack stays with Saints but I'm sure he'd be a great appointment for Ipswich.
-
Ipswich have a director of football at the moment. From listening to Jack's previous interviews, I'd think this could be a major issue for him.
-
I reckon he'll stay. The most tempting one yet though, I'd have thought.

Congrats to Lewis and Stephen, well deserved. I voted for Lewis in the YPOTY and Cammy Smith in the POTY, but there could have been 3 or 4 candidates for either that no-one could complain about. Samson, Eckersley, Smith, McGinn, Morgan all could have easily won.
I'm sure the votes must have been extremely close. I hope the different supporters clubs have voted slightly differently, the awards really deserve to be spread around this season.

Definitely an effective big centre back and a threat from set peices, but not sure he's got the footballing ability we'd be looking for in a centre half.
Watching Baird last night made me think that's probably why he lost his starting place. Not much between them all as defenders, Bairdy may even be better in some aspects but MacKenzie and Davis both have more ability on the ball. He's still improving and I think he'll get there, just needs work.
If that's the style JR and JF prefer, then not sure O'Ware would be on their list. Signing him would, however, make me piss myself laughing, would be worth it just to see him score against them when the Renfrewshire Cup is resumed, now that the natural order has been restored.

Anyone got any tickets spare? Looking for 2 if possible, West Stand ideally. Long shot, I know.
