  1. The Friday Five this week:-

Five Leaves Left - Nick Drake

    Up - Peter Gabriel

    Greetings from L.A. - *** Buckley

    Minimum/Maximum - Kraftwerk

The Hissing of Summer Lawns - Joni Mitchell

I can't believe it, I own and frequently listen to three of the above.

I am appalled, given your, until now, PISH taste in music that we share some musical similarities.

    Anyway, here's mine:

Calvin Harris - Ready for the Weekend

Rum, Sodomy & The Lash - Pogues

Best Of - ? and the Mysterians

    Ignore the Ignorant - Cribs

    Free the Bees - Bees

  2. This reminds me of my time working at Barshaw Hospital, where I worked until it closed.

There was a "deputation" from the Ralston Community Group, who visited about 2 weeks before the Hospital closed, and asked to speak to the person in charge.

I showed them up to our Nursing Officer, and they berated him about the possibility of the building being used as a Nightclub, when it closed.

The Nursing Officer said there were no such plans, and thanked them for their time, referring to them as the "Ralston Tenants Association". A riot almost ensued, when the Ralston punters collectively threw a wobbly, and said Nursing Officer gave them a wee wink.

It'll no doubt be the same Pimms drinking, Thatcher-loving, action-slack wearing, wankbags.

    f**k 'em!

  3. The Clash: Live at Shea Stadium.................

The Clash: From Here to Eternity.................

Cockney Rejects: Greatest Hits Vol 1............

Big Audio Dynamite 2: Kool Aid.............

    Mott the Hoople: Mott............................

Had that on vinyl, versions of the songs on it were much better than the ones on The Globe.

    Got it on CD Sandman?!?

Any chance ay a wee copy?

I've got some rare Clash stuff I could burn for you in return, including Mick Jones original mix of Combat Rock (Rat Patrol from Fort Bragg).

  4. Godfather Part 2 (the Greatest film of all time in my opinion)

Once Upon a Time in America (Sergio Leone's crowning - and sprawling - masterpiece)

Angel Heart (Probably little more than a cameo for De Niro, but still quality)

Taxi Driver (Amongst the toughest 2 hrs in cinema history, but still worth it)

Raging Bull (Astounding performance and great picture)

    The man is class.

Pisses all over Pacino - who, Godfather movies and Panic in Needle Park aside, is little more than America's answer to Brian Blessed.

    Alright maybe Serpico then.
