Aye - drawing fouls isn't cheating in my book. Diving is, it that's an entirely different thing.
Loy was very effective in drawing fouls for us last season, and we benefited from plenty of dead ball opportunities as a result. Few complained then.
To be fair, only one seems to be complaining now..... -
Enjoyed that today. Like everyone said, first 20mins we were all over the place. After that we were well in control.
Reilly absolutely superb. Morgan tore their full back a new one. Sutton worked well against Grant.
I've probably been one of his biggest critics but Baird played well today,
How big a joke was lee Miller, came on, fell down every time someone went near him to give them a chance to punt into the box. Imagine Houston encouraging that tactic in 2017... -
Same team as airdrie
Sammy
Irvine
Baird
Mac
Stelios
McGinn
McShane
Morgan
Smith
Sutty
Reilly -
Delighted
Some stability is key for a club like ours who want to produce their own players.
Good boost for start of the season -
I think we all would admit that hospitality v 3 course lunch, drink etc isn't fully comparable.
I would fully expect to pay a slight premium for hospitality due to the nature of it.
That doesn't let st mirren (or any other club) off the hook for providing a shoddy service. I've been to SMP once for hospitality, killie 3 or 4 times and I would say both were comparable. Killie, if I'm being honest, were much quicker getting drink out to the table and the wine probably slightly better than st mirren.
It shouldn't be too hard to get right, decent quality food, prompt service and decent standard of wine/beer. -
Looked decent with us for the few games he played
I would have more concerns over attitude than I would over ability.
Seemed to chuck it after what was originally meant to be a minor injury -
Surely the £8k could go towards the much needed Harry Davis Extension to the Treatment Room!
Too late, it's covering 1 week of his wages

I'm staggered that people continue to entertain the frenzied slabberings of Lord Lookatme. I've had him on ignore for a good while, now, and all I can say is thank christ for that facility.
Unfortunately, I have been subjected to his deranged dribblings by virtue of quoted posts, however. I try to avoid these, but it can be difficult. What I haven't been able to avoid confirms that he continues to come across as a thoroughly wretched and needy individual who needs to find a new hobby.
Yep, guy is an absolutely toxic attention seeker
One of only 2 guys I have on ignore -
4/1 Steven Pressley
- 5/1 Paul Hartley
- 10/1 Gary Naysmith
- 10/1 Allan Johnston
- 12/1 Jim McIntyre
- 12/1 Tommy Wright
- 16/1 David Weir
- 20/1 Alan Stubbs
- 20/1 Alex McLeish
- 20/1 Terry Butcher
- 25/1 Ronny Deila
I cant see the odds for Jack... I think he is on 50-1 bar with Andy Roxburgh
Hills have Jon Daly as 1/4 fave
Jack is around 20/1 if I remember correctly

How they mocked me on here when i suggested (among others) Ian Cathro would have been preferable to Murray at the time. Seems Hearts think so too!
Not for long they didn't
Punted today
Bit harsh 4 days before the season starts as they let him build what looks like a decent squad
Can't help but feel Levein is a big issue for managers at that club. -
Superb signing,
Yes question marks over fitness, if there wasn't, let's be honest, he wouldn't be here
A fit Davis and McKenzie should be the strongest defence in the league -
First was given to Smith but I was sure it was an OG with no St MIrren player near it.
Smith was in the mix but 100% it was an OG -
He seems to have good instincts, finds himself in dangerous positions, the ball has a habit of falling to him in the box. Techniques like first touch and finishing can be taught or improved, but that ability to arrive in the right place at the right time is hard to teach.
Full time training will be good for him, once he starts to bulk up a bit he could start bullying defenders in this league.
JR did say he was a work in progress. Maybe see the best of him later in the season -
Really comfortable performance
Good for Reilly and Smith to get some goals before the season starts. Morgan took his goal superbly.
Few decent saves from Samson as well so a few positives that the team can take
One negative for me...guy behind me in the stand gave Reilly and big Stewart absolute pelters all game. He actually didn't acknowledge Reilly second goal at all, imagine being that sad and petty.

Sounds like no injuries and suspensions, success.
If only we could play teams from League 1 every week. 2 games against them this season, scored 9 conceded 1.
Games against teams from above league 1... scored 0 conceded 6.
1/10
Cringe -
Lovely play by Cammy Smith and a great finish from Morgan 4-0
-
Two of the worst penalties you will see today
-
He's not good enough but in his mind he's clearly too good for Airdrie.
Body language stinks, clearly not a team player.
If he's on the money mentioned in this thread then there's something dodgy going on.
Agree with this
Hasn't been up for the game at all. Dreadful -
Half time
Walk in the park so far,
Would give Buchanan and Kirkpatrick some game time second half.
Reilly has looked sharp, much improved now he's not being isolated -
Nice big man / wee man link up between Sutton and Reilly for the goal there 2-0
-
5 mins to kick off and the crowd is hardly flowing in. Could be a new low for a Sat 3pm KO. Saints fans are a fickle bunch!
Yep as bad a crowd as I've seen
Summer football eh.... -
Quinn injured?
Still amazed Rae gave the guy a 2 year deal -
We should however have a wall graphic on the other gate that honours everyone who followed St Mirren throughout the 1990s. Heroes. [emoji3]
Think about those of us that STARTED in the 90s and kept going!!!
-
Now confirmed
United had done some decent business this summer, think MacDonald is well on the decline but still good enough for this level

Can anyone tell me the original song for the 'Super Stelios' song?
