You know how thing work offshore. A stewardess comes to me and complains cabin such and such bin has been urinated in with urine also on the floor. That is disrespectful to my staff especially when the bin sits next to the toilet door. So I do my job by going to the crew member and tell him we need a private chat. Finish the conversation by saying it is between us but if it happens again I will report it to the Captain. This was a pipe laying vessel with 350 crew. If you think its acceptable to urinate in a small cabin that has it's own toilet turning a blind eye to it and not looking after your own staff then I differ.

Do you write for the Daily Record?

How very dare u sir............, wouldn't buy much less be inclined to contribute to the facile comic

Enough hilarity / grief / mirth /despair  about with the latest Sellic  football circus without deferring to the Daily Rebel / Ranger for added comic verbose

  3. Well yet again , that old chestnut, the disaster of Sellic's Euro capitulation, now the blame game starts as Sellic repeat in their usual extra special European nights at Paradise. Get Lenny oot. clueless, never wanted him, Lawell is hopeless, its the transfer policy, its the crap opposition week in week out, Broonie is past it, Thursday nights are nae use to me I take my daughter tae swimming lessons, Sutton puts the boot in cos he can,  etc. etc. etc. etc.

Ah Sellic, the same old same old eh. If only Rafa Benitez or Jose Mourinho had taken over

    :lol

Which, along with the lack of signings, has been a concern for me since this debacle hit the headlines.

I'm confident enough in Goodwin that he'll get over this but it could well result in us having a poor start, mostly not down to him.

I'm glad to see you'll not be part of  the pitch fork and torch procession mob come Christmas then.

    No it doesn’t.

It merely underlines that the forward-planning so long desired by everyBuddie has been implemented.  It’s simply solid business practice being implemented, at last!

In fact, I fully expect that there are already names in a secret folder for the NEXT manager, when Goodie inevitably fails to provide results or sound bites that please the unpleasable baying masses.

There's been many a cracked egg down St Mirren way over the years, a fair few omelettes generated also, even for those who don't like them.

Put some tabasco on them, lifts the more bland versions to an agreeable level of satisfaction.

GLS is only breaking the eggs, Tony's not yet omelette capable , so Tabasco sellers are all over this.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t for a second think GLS is the fully innocent party & OK the villain. What I do think is there will likely be shades of grey.

My point on LPM is his view is always the one that shows the club he ‘supports’ & its people in the most negative light. Him claiming OK travel cost could be up to £6,000 shows this, it’s the most nonsense comment I think I’ve seen on here (an achievement in itself)

my interpretation of the situation is OK wanted the commute & thought he could still do the job to a suitable level, GLS disagreed & they couldn’t meet in an acceptable middle. To quote some Brexit chat, they both likely had red lines & they didn’t match. I think the most likely outcome (we’ll likely never know though is as below)

    - OK wanted a daily (or close to) commute

    - GLS wanted him to move here.

    - OK willing to compromise slightly down on the commute

    - GLS willing to compromise slightly up on the commute.

Outcome was the up and the down weren’t close enough to compromise. This for me perfectly explains the time taken, GLS interview, OK comments, why the timing wasn’t ideal for him leaving & the Goody contingency planning.

I don’t know if OK wanted to increase the commute on last year or GLS wanted to decrease it, that’s the grey area. As I said we’ll likely never know how it was initiated, what was in the contract & what was proposed to change this year (if anything)

    ^^^^^that's just not good enough^^^^:whistle

There's not enough implied skulduggery, downright accusations of dishonesty and mendacity in your post.

It appears you've taken a pragmatic view on a relationship that over time was just bound to fizzle and fail anyway.

The top man, yup,  he who pays the piper called the tune, in this case some folk didnae like the song.

    We move on.

I think plenty of St Mirren fans would care about it. And they should.

The interview, as has been pointed out above, is full of contradictions. On the one hand it was "the worst kept secret in Scottish football" that Kearney was leaving, and on the other Gordon's trip to the USA is blown apart by Kearney unexpectedly deciding to leave. Which one is it?

I really struggle to believe the daily commuting story too. It is utterly ridiculous to think he was planning on flying backwards and forwards and going through all the hassle of the airport every single day.

Poor form to gag Kearney in the terms of the payoff and then come out with this in the press two weeks later too.

I've had serious doubts about the Chairman ever since the blatant lies about spitting at the Dundee United fan. This doesn't help much it must be said.

Each to their own, personally it isn't worth the hand wringing and pondering imo.

Look forward, don't see what harbouring doubts about the Chairman really serves. I have had doubts about St Mirren's commercial capability and business nous for decades, the present Chief Exec's credentials are a joke, past chairman have come in for plenty blah de blah. de blah. We've all seen some amount of roasters in charge over our time.

It doesn't change how I feel about St Mirren and the team year in year out.

Get the team out and playing some honest maybe even attractive  football, score some goals , win some games.

Feel more confident about Goodwin doing so going into this season, than I would have with OK. Seems others thought so as well.

Well either Scott or Kearney is being careless with the truth.

If only we had some track record of trust we could rely on to work out who to give the benefit of the doubt to.....

Interesting that Scott only "thinks" Oran wanted to commute daily.

Did he ask for that or didn't he FFS?

Clearly Scott knows the answer to that and if it was Yes he would categorically state it.

Then he says he was planning for Oran to leave.

So on the back of THINKING Oran might have wanted to commute daily, he went behind the managers back and started planning his successor.

That would explain why Oran knew the writing was on the wall and was gutted to leave.

I know where my trust is going to be placed in this mess.

Or interpreted as two baldies fighting over a comb, who really gives a shit anyway.

This scramble for some sort of moral high ground, urgh, its just tedious ramblings. Both parties changed their minds , their views, prospects, opinions, one about the individual , the other about the prospects for the next campaign. That compounded with undeniable homesickness meant that there was not a full focus on the job in hand.......something had to give....................................

Moving on OK now has his job(s) his family, he's done his bit here and as far as he is concerned he's a diamond geezer..........................it happens. Frankly I'm happier with JG at the helm for the new season, I feel some optimism and hope, rather than wondering about the contemplations and musings of a somewhat lyrical and philosophical OK.

But hay hoh, we'll see where this next roller coaster ride takes us, its what we do, rightly or wrongly its what us supporters signed up for
