What he is worth is only what someone ( Azi's ) are prepared to pay and that we are a willing seller.
Now, if two suitors were after him , then it gets real, our position is strengthened, we might get to something where we cannot say no, until then , this is simply more undermining of attempts at planning anything.
I'm surprised English Championship side(s) have not come calling. Hladky could unquestionably play comfortably in that environment. Indeed, his ambition is to go dahn souff

If he ends up being a donkey we'll be saddled with him and there'll be heehaw we can do about it.
Whoa there, we can always hoof him again, especially if he is hot to trot, neigh bother. Too many folk on their high horse about this. No need for erm, long faces

IMO the guy is a show pony, that's when he's occasionally shoed up and out of his stable for a trot.
Could Goodwin reign him in, saddle him up, get the blinkers off him and get him Race ready ?
Presently the guy he has the mane, that's about it.

Did he get the chop?
ooft, no....................he simply wanted a pizza the action, but the yolk was on him as there was no obvious ability, Saints said he was an impasta with Goodwin saying not even worth a penne

He's certainly proven he can talk the talk..................now the challenge begins.
"Cup runs, stability, minimal number of loan players "..................oooerrr
-
St Mirren and publicity........................even if its Red Top rag publicity.
I hear that the chef at the Spanish training camp complex that Saints are at was once was a youth academy player with Seville.................

Pleased this appears to be sorted.
Goodwin will have a bank of good will and feel good towards him.
Legend comes to the club.
Hopefully what he brings and what he learns is a sufficient journey for us Buds
Lets build some momentum and get into the season on the front foot, take no shit !!!!

Pish this shifted get

Here's a quote from the manager who was apparently orchestrating his departure
Kearney had said he was keen to remain with St Mirren and build on improved form at the end of the season despite his wife and family remaining in Northern Ireland,
Seriously ? That means nothing. That’s just a standard play. You think he would say anything else in his situation, really ??? The guy is an educated professional, he’s had a tiff and a change of heart,
He has moved on, so should we

So your first paragraph, if thats the case why are the club paying his settlement? Doesnt sound like the guy out on the pitch at Hamilton home hame, Dundee away or in the play offs?
What is his settlement, how would you know any details about that
Apparently OK didn't fancy it, things soured, GLS allegedly never was the greatest OK fan either
GLS and OK fell out
That's about it.
Nowt else remotely relevant................we move on

You do wonder about the due diligence we do when looking to appoint a manager. St*bbs' track record was honking - eg a Hibs side with John McGinn, Darren McGregor, Dylan McGeoch, Scott Allan, Anthony Stokes failed to get promoted twice from the Championship and didn't make the play-off final in either season. A few weeks after being appointed St*bbs seemed genuinely surprised how small our budget was. Kearney is appointed from Northern Irish part-time football and we don't seem to have asked whether he was moving his family over to Scotland or how often he'd be commuting or how he planned to juggle having a young family, commuting and carrying out his duties as St Mirren manager.
I don't really wonder about it, ( due diligence, or the lack of ) the clubs track record by and large speaks for itself. I think some self awareness required about St Mirren, we're a provincial club that's not very good or professional about a lot of aspects of the 'football business'. I'm cynical, but realistic enough ( time served fandom and all that ) to know that all we can expect is now the mediocre that sometimes falls in our favour, we punch above our weight on occasions.
We're more than a tad dysfunctional, we are a basket case to many, look at us across the last decade, new ground, must be ten managers, and quite a mixed bag
Prior to that and we had our lot of the Love street era, well we had debt driven mediocrity , hand to mouth scrambling, then odd days in the sun, there was the odd case of the Germanic jewellery theft, the Spanish El Capitan, we were the last all Scottish team to lift the SC, we had the bibs, first team back in Europe after Heysel, a Scottish centre forward scoring a hat trick in an away leg of a European tie, we've been cited as racist abusing Ruud Gullit, we have one of the best away supports when the chips are down, we love adversity.............................. need I go on
Brilliant, surely a unique club, what's next

I think a few fellow posters need to question the very obvious club leaked smears that
A: Kearney has orchestrated all of this.
B. That he regularly misses training and just leaves his job for others to do
C. And the wholly laughable smear that Oran wanted to fly to Ireland and back everyday ffs! How could he afford up to £1500 pw or £6k a month put of his wages? C'mon.... its ballocks!
the club f**ked up royally by not inserting a clause into his contract compelling him to move by a specified date or risk being in breach of contract and liable to summary dismissal i.e. No compo.
the very fact that the club are having to meet his settlement demands tells you no such clause was inserted, indeed the laughable smear that he wanted to fly here and there everyday becomes even more of a joke when you consider as that in itself wold be a material change in any agreement, and the club could simply refuse, and if Kearney started to do it, again he'd be looking at summary dismissal and... you guessed it NO Compo.
add to this complete clusterf**k that neither chairman or CEO are prepared to front this out to fans and media, but choose to be in other parts of the world leaving it to Mr Wardrobe to try to spin things on their behalf.
please just think about these scandalous allegations, look at the man they are levelling these against, and the complete lack of any evidence to back any of them up, and the fact NO senior official at the club is making them. Well least not through official channels.
the club is poisoned, the chairman has chosen to rule it in a way that is anti-fan despite the claims made. What manager worth his salt will walk into the clusterf**k at Greenhill road? I see Owen Coyle has joined the list being touted as potential successors. Funny that as his family live even further away than Kearney's, and he didnt move them back up here when he was at Ross County.
i do expect there may be a possible resignation or two from people at the club now at their wits end. And despite the hype can anyone see Gus giving up that comfy billet he's found in exchange for being sacked before October?
Hmmm, or in much redacted version, Kearney didn't fancy it after his wee induction to the league , decided nah, not for me, I'm off. GLS wasn't going to work too hard to change his mind.
Strangely with Coyle, he was last seen bolting from Ross County, family and commuting doesn't seem to sit too well ???? Coyle did an OK, except Coyle folded, packed it in, no suggestion of a nudge over although that was probably looming. He was terrible for Ross County

What do folks think about Mark McGhee taking over from Kearney ?
Hmm, no thank you, unacceptable face of Scottish football
I think my preference would be for Thomas Hendrie Esq.
Kinda keeps us tenuously connected with the Alloa love in

Jeez oh guys!
the story that suggests, but not confirms Oran wanted to have a daily commute comes from the Board's go to journo!
it holds as much water as the paper its printed on. Blatantly another attempt to smear a guy that Scott wants rid of, now everyone is lawyered up Kearney will rightfully take the club to the cleaners as they have suspended him when he indicated its business as usual.
A daily commute ffs, that would cost more than he gets paid! Jeez you guys are like a mill lassie on a friday night, happy to swallow just about anything!
Defamatory and speculative.

If what is being said is true and he does want to travel back and forward everyday, then that does change everything i feel. I just wonder how he could afford to pay for a daily commute with the wages we would be paying him. He certainly shouldn't be getting a playoff. Maybe the club should put him on gardening leave knowing the 2 jobs in Ireland aren't going to be there for long and force his hand.
Nah, he's had his play off victory, but he's gonna lose his pay off

Oran did what was asked of him, and he did an incredible job - I fully expected relegation after the Stubbs debacle.
He should be remembered for the great escape he pulled off for us. We don’t know what’s gone on here but I have no bad feelings towards Oran. Gordon Scott though...I have to ask, why was this not sorted in the week following the playoff victory? Why are we going into pre-season managerless? This is last season all over again - bizarrely enough our saving grace might be Gus being here to sign players so we aren’t 100% blind going in.
subjective

I don't see why. Keeping us up last season was something I doubt many managers in our range could have achieved. The shambles he inherited was worse than what Jack Ross had when took over, and he achieved our safety in a higher league.
Its amazing how quickly fans can turn based on nothing but hearsay.
Jury is out...........that means things are under consideration.

^^^^^ apply that logic and ambition to 90%+ of clubs ^^^^
Every club is a selling club given the right nos, such is life.
The pernicious side of all this is the any sense of loyalty and purpose is ripped up and you are doing well to get anything more than a single season where it comes together.
Can we just field a team of academy kids, yes, is it or would it be acceptable, NO
