  1. It is quite clearly not based purely on results.

Exactly. The hysterical speculation and ITK pissing contests are laughable.
Unless folk can read Gordon Scott’s mind he and he alone knows the whole sum of all the bit parts that confirmed his decision.
Others have alluded to the fact it seems to have been a bad fit from day one, quite possible and I’d go with that.
IMO Stubbs got off to a bad start across several areas and was almost beaten before he started. His demeanour and laid back laconic disconnect just cemented a really bad impression, one of disinterest and abdicating responsibility, shifting the blame onto his daftie players at every opportunity, all in my humble opinion of course. But it’s probably right, to a degree. [emoji847]
  2. Well the Chairman has not fudged it, he had acted swiftly and presumably will recognise that he was duped one way or another. Clearly a bad fit from day one and things only those ITK will be aware of conspired to lead us to this stage. No one really knows the half or it, but that’s really irrelevant.
It’s history, we f**ked up, move on try and fix things.
If there is any credit to this sorry shambles it’s that the hierarchy have acknowledged we are in a mess and made a fast and ruthless decision.
    What next [emoji15]

  3.
As for GLS and Fitzpatrick, if it was them that made the decision on the three year deal which I imagine it was then the blame is completely with them. A blind man could see that Stubbs wasn’t the right man for this job and even more so a three year contract was insanity.

    This ^^^^*

It’s truly amazing in its naivety

  4. He’ll strive on, he might land a result soon who knows, football is crazy on occasions and everyone holds on to that, fans, players, managers. Who knows.

FWIW I reckon he’ll be given three more attempts by GS to dig something out, otherwise it’s gtf. Certainly they have to talk in these terms if they haven’t already

  5. A top league of sixteen, no plastic pitches, home and away fixtures once only please. More emphasis on cup competition. This attritional slug fest apology of a top league where you could play a team over half a dozen times is just horrible.
The game up here needs re set up, but as long as Stevie G has revitalised the Hunnery and the Hoopy lot have a rival, f**k all else matters. We will be told there is no appetite for change and that a league that splits in two is a great thing.

  6. Well as ever with St mirren it’s all about never say never and expect the unexpected.
    Same shit different day now.
Anyhow, we will soldier on, who the f**k knows what is round the corner. I’ve just had a little bit of St Mirren caring kicked out of me with this debacle around us presently. Fans just grin and suck it up, nowt else for it.
Rise again, for sure, the enthralling bit is when and where ????
Btw should it not be raise the black and white flag.....

    oh wait .............

  7. We should be prepared and capable though. We have sold several players for decent fees, got the best part of a million for the sell on of John McGinn, more decent  prize money for winning the Championship,  sold out the family stand to the Old Firm (to fund more players) and got compensation for Jack being a bit of a sneaky bastard. Open the fekn biscuit tin.

Indeed, we should be but we’re clearly not simply there at the moment from what we’ve seen.

Add to that I seriously think that the present team management are not respected , liked or even believed in.

Massive sea change from last season and the players are clearly demonstrating that to be the case based on early performances.
The club seems to have completely transitioned from a positive go ahead and dream unit to a feckn shambolic lost looking club without any direction.
Harsh new world were in now, strap on and suck it up eh ?!

Like some others I wasn’t too sure about Stubbs, but you wish him and his team all the best , naturally. It’s what we do.

I just don’t get Rice or Jackson in any guise, ever though, ??? Seriously underwhelmed when they appeared on the scene.

Stubbs needs to turn this early season malaise round rapid, then there might be some belief instilled.

  8. Changed my mind.... can’t give that coaching team any more time. No fight, no desire, no hope. Livingston are average yet look like a great team against us. I’ve kinda had this nagging feeling about him not being the right guy from the start but wanted to give him the chance. We will go down unless we get rid of Stubbs... the players don’t fight for the guy .. totally apparent after today.

The issue is we were not prepared or capable of matching Livingston, newbies just like us. They look organised and physical, capable of surviving and digging out results, that’s what Scottish elite league is all about.

We knew this last season and it’s the harsh reward for promotion as champions, great eh ?

We are nowhere near ready to compete in this attritional league of shite and I almost wish for the attractive pressing of a championship campaign than to sit through much more shit that I saw today.

Shame that this is where we are after last seasons glorious campaign.

Jack Ross was so right to move on, the bastard [emoji85]

  9. You've really got to question who appointed Stubbs, the Chairman and CEO have really been found wanting.

    Yup !!

He was a great fit for the club and his passion and style of football was going to respect the work done by Jack Ross yet build on it ..........we were seemingly lucky to get him

I paraphrased Tony F but basically..........

    WTF [emoji15]
  10. We all new Jack would be away sooner rather and later and there was the impression that the BOD had a plan B , But feck me if Stubbs is that plan or even why we waited to the eve of the new season to appoint him

Indeed. Now we are on a rebuild and blend mission, work usually done pre season. It’s now a work in progress and as said above by a poster, Stubbs has dragged a wrecking ball through the squad and morale and shape needs fixing.
Tough job, imo the coaching personnel we have in place presently ain’t got it.
  11. Dreadful. Just dreadful.  Look like a team and manager not even reading the same book, never mind being on the same page!!

We actually look to be going further away from being a blended team.
There’s a complete confusion about us from top to bottom just now.
It’s not even like we are having a go and being beaten out of naive ambition. It’s just we are utter shite presently.
Get your job done and get it sorted Stubbs.
Three year deal ?!?!.......that looks like a sore one at present.
On the plus, it’s early days, downside, we look to be light in quality players and as a consequence have no plan.
