  1. History repeating with us, nowt else. We did well for a spell now it seems we enter the dark realm again. Seen it all before, but we’ll eventually turn it. Maybe not under the present management regime. Rice is a cast off from Yogis era, Jackson , just no. As far Stubbs, we’ll he’s gonna have some job this early turning this shambles around. I’m actually embarrassed for us just now.

  2. Miller must be bouncing around with no little anger and frustration just now. His perceived Hunnery injustice now this Livingston shambles. Might be a bad risk to sign him, that said, he’s still a good player for the Scottish premier league.
Imagine being able to tap into that anger and motivate him to score on Saturday against Livingston a goal that secures a win,. No little irony. Then to carry on and serve up a few goals for St mirren. Stranger things have happened........🤫

    Like signing again for Hibs

  3. I've been sitting in a terrace bar in Crete drinking G&Ts - did I miss anything?:whistle

Go large on the house ouzo, no drama here, u missed nowt really
We got pumped by the second best team in the land in a cup competition we won fairly recently, it’s someone else’s turn.
The new manager is seeking a compatible blend of players for our team, it’s a work in progress
The body of the Kirk is restless, oh and there’s a relegation six pointer next week. It’s August at the start of another new season.
On other words, same old story, one league up from last year
We still linger on the lost Ross potential.
    Same shit different season.
  4. Just home from a visit to Carnoustie today. Wanted to go and take photos with all the Open stuff still in place. Staff were very friendly and told me I could wander anywhere I wanted as long as no golfers playing shots. Stood on the first tee, surrounded by high steeply banked seating. Stared down the first fairway. Came to the conclusion that if I was standing there, with the stands full, the TV cameras on, and a driver in my hands... I’d be unable to hit the ball due to the sheer amount of shite in my breeks.
Walked through the tunnel to the 18th and was able to walk over the Barry Burn bridge and take some photos staring down the 18th green. Goodness knows how many people fill those huge stands, it was still very atmospheric despite being empty. I was absolutely gagging to attempt a pitch and run onto the green and imagine the roar of the crowd (or the gasps as I shat myself again, shanked it right and lamped a steward on the napper with a Titelist 2.)
Will try and stick some pics up later.

Do not ever, ever, ever mention J Arthur Rank again. That is verboten in ze golfing parlance

Is Stubbs getting  undeserved  criticism so early in the season?

Or did JR leave us in a mess? Most of the players are his signings.

Last year's team certainly was not good enough to survive in the SPL - we were fortunate to win the Championship by such a large margin.

That team (in true St Mirren fashion) has now been dismantled instead of strengthened.

The feel good factor has evaporated before the league season has started - instead it's resembling the same feeling we had at the start of the 2016/17 season.

The whole momentum shift is incredible. We have regressed what feels like at least two seasons and now appear rudderless. I'm just disappointed and a fair bit surprised at the  McKenzie and Eckersley thing for starters. Don't like the early signals at all, ranging from the sound bites and interviews to the team surgery, looks more like like team dismantling. I'm not  a fan of the management team one bit  but will of course give them the respect and time. I hope they do it for us, but presently, no chance I'm even considering anything positive for us this season. Not feeling the love..............It's all gone from shiny and promising to very Ugly Betty.

  6. From what I've seem of Stubbs both as manager and pundit imo he comes across all chill and laconic, he seems fatigued with questions and frankly his demeanour is not exactly one that threatens to explode with bursts of inspiration and effervescence. Maybe its just me but he seems to have morphed into the Reverend I.M Jolly. As for the 'player turnaround' and the new broom and all that, it appears on the face of it to have been radical and almost too quick in some cases. The brief outings so far reveal a need to buff up kinda rapid................presently not a fan of the coaching staff or management style.

Someone else commented ( in another thread ?) that the change in nature, culture, feel of the club between winning the Championship  last season and now is incredible. For me the place feels entirely new and like something you bought at a sale and are trying hard to justify to like

Hell, who knows, early days I suppose, its all I've go so lets go all positive with Confucius.............better a diamond with a flaw that a pebble without.

    We shall see.

  7. Well now....just dropped in on this , erm , friendly result and it appears to confirm a grim pattern of a results and performances over recent days.
    Two things immediately .....
    1. I’m shocked that any team anytime would lose a game 6 to zilch, bad at any level, it’s just not on and demonstrates a cluelessness and / or a serious lack of ability against superior opponents.
    2. Recent results and apparently performances do not bode well, albeit it is the pre season unfunny time !!
There’s either a radical switch around still to gel and a plan is in place, or there is an almighty hill to climb here.
Day 1 of the league season should hopefully shed a light but it appears we are in the very early stages of a rebuild and not ready, tactically, physically, emotionally.
Message to management, get it sorted !!!!!!

Indeed he did and Wright's retort? He tried to mimic Keane's accent.

Gotta love Keane, simmering on the edge, all the time That was great last night...................

Ian Wright for all he was a decent centre forward, is a right thickaspigshit type and really shouldn't be a pundit. He's borderline incoherent in some of his musings and frankly is only there cos he's a fan boy...................then again it is England World Cup pundit team time <_<

This is deep down, very serious somewhere,  if it wasn't so pathetically laughably point and abuse comedic.  These cnunts should all be sacked for gross incompetence and a complete abdication of democratic accountability. Disgraceful.

All we need now is Eng**** to ...................:zipit

I have actually stopped listening now.

The other day I liked the sound of Michael Mellon and Oran Kearney.  One always likes a left field appointment that no-one saw coming and either of those two fit such a bill.

At this mornings cursory glance I saw Alan Stubbs at 1/2, this fills me with meh, meh indeed

Yes indeed TT, becoming most underwhelming

From the dreams of giddy romance and getting your rocks off in exotic lands to realising you've won a weekend at the local caravan park.

I blame our ex, Jack for this state of dreary stasis

I'm away to jizz in my Weetabix now, cos I can

    :P
