  1. I actually had concerns about the body language of a few players... including Thommos after both his goals.

    Something is not right. unsure.png

I know it was a long time ago, but anything to do with it being against his old club - and the one which gave him his chance?

Maybe he still has a soft spot for them, so didn't rub it in with the celebrations... while still putting in a fantastic performance for his true love :-)

  2. Do u no that i was about to come on here and say that this is another defeat coming our way, but u no what?.......That team are just as piss as us.

If u look through all there results this season all they have beat is the dross of the league like us and Whistle, cunty, kilty and hertz. They have failed to beat any good team in this league like ceptic, sheep, arabs and inverfekinness. How on earth are that team 12 points above us ill never know...Its where we should be and none of this wage structure pish that some o use come out with. We really need to start beating these type of teams that are above us. Without a win here and Danny can wave goodbye to any contract he thinks maybe coming his way.

Normally I'd say not beating Celtic so far would have been no reason to abuse a Saints manager. But you know what, this season I think you're right.

    Danny must go.

  3. thought from the short highlights we looked pretty honking. Harkins looked ok in them but not much else. Thompsons goal looked undoubtedly onside, would it have made a difference? Who knows

I can only imagine it wasn't given for Thompson being offside as he was clearly onside.

Would it have made a difference? About as obvious us scoring the first goal would have made a difference as Thompson himself was onside.

Can only imagine it was given for McLean's forward pass although it did look like the flag didn't go up until the ball was knocked across to Thommo?

  4. Paul McGowan deserves more protection from referee's as he is frequently the main target from opposition teams when it comes to stopping our main creative source. is it any wonder that such a talented footballer would sometimes lose his cool under such intimidating circumstances, some of the tackles that he had to endure yesterday were completely out of order, People often moan about how poor the quality of product on show in this country, yet the likes of you condone the hammer throwing tactics of Inverness and expect to be taken seriously.

What else would you expect from a Motherwell fan.

  5. Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but a major talking point from the match must be the admirable sportsmanship demonstrated by the ICT number 5 (with bandaged heid) who intervened to avoid Thommo getting booked after being fouled by him.

Very refreshing to see, and he deserves huge credit for this. It was a striker's tackle and the hitman probably couldn't have complained if he had been shown the yellow, but the Caley player held his hand up to ref the to stop him showing the card. Also good to see the Saints support acknowledging this with a round of applause.

We seldom witness moments like this in modern football, and it was great to see.

    I saw that too.

However it did seem to me that Thommo didn't tackle him at all, rather he slid in - about 2-3 feet in front of the ICT player - to try to block the ball from being hoofed forward.

The No 5's 'tackle' on the other hand was outrageous and really should have been red. No attempt to play the ball, just an excuse to kick one of our players.

  6. Was it only me who noticed that the one real chance that Hibs had was a result of their forwards handball as Kello collected?

What was the ref and linesman watching?

    attachicon.gifFootie.PNG

    Yup, I noticed that.

At the time I thought Kello was maybe nudged a little, but was worse when I saw the highlights.

Think it was Collins, who seemed to be jumping in to players illegally throughout the game without any kind of punishment from the ref.

  7. £24 for a ticket at Tynecastle is pretty steep, hopefully that wont keep too many people away though. It's one of my favourite grounds to go to.

This kind of punitive pricing is win-win for Hearts.

I'm sure they want as few away fans supporting their opponents as possible - so they charge ridiculous prices to drive them away - but those who DO turn up chuck plenty of cash in to the administrators bucket.

  8. Just watched game again on bt..giving the ball away so easly had me shouting at the box ...the last 20 min where very frustrating to watch ..even though i new the out come i still watched it through my fingers..we all kw hearts are going to go for it so keeping the ball and not letting hearts run over us is a must..

Hard to see from the other side of the pitch, but did TV show if - immeditately before our defensive mix up - we should have a foul; instead they got a throw which they took 10 yards further forward than it should have been... and 5 seconds later McGinn was hitting the post?

Felt Murray gave us nothing. And I believe it was him who also determined DvZ's handball againt ICT was intentional!?!?

  9. The main reason i'd guess would be context. It was the 89th minute of the match, we had just been out played completely, we were 2-0 down and the game was totally dead. It had absolutely no baring on the outcome whatsoever.

I assume you're putting that rationale forward for the panel rather than the ref?

I'd still have thought that for weirdness/comedy value that they'd have said something about it?

  10. Hmmm, his sending off was very weak, agreed, however, he stupidly , or perhaps by design :whistle played right into the referees hands......he knowingly lashed the kick at the Hibs player in a fit of tantrum................red mist was still swirling around his head. He made it very easy for the ref. All in all his sending off sums up what is wrong with quite a few of our players.............they are clearly mentally miles off the game just now. Too many take up the martyr injustice stance, quite frankly, they chuck it and fail to chase the cause in games.

Just saw it on the highlights there, and it's an even worse decision than I though watching it live.

Grainger isn't looking at the Hibs player, and the Hibs player even moves his left leg out to block the ball.

And OUR player gets a second yellow.

And not to mention nobody seems to have any idea what his first yellow was for?

Bizarre that none of the TV panel even mentioned it?

A decision the likes of which nobody has ever seen you would have thought would have merited a sentence or two?

  11. What part of the players are not playing for him any more do you not get we have been supporting them since the start of the season and its not done one bit of good.

Where is your proof that this is the case, or are you just basing this on our bad run and what like minded people have said on web forums?

Personally, I think we need to change manager now, but you shouldn't put forward as fact - and use it to berate fellow fans - things that are pure speculation.

  12. Sometimes when a player kicks the ball against a player trying to waste time, or prevent a quick free kick being taken, the person blocking the kick doesn't get booked - sometimes they do.

I've NEVER seen the player taking the kick, and trying to make the point to the ref that the opponent is blocking them, being booked.

For almost the whole game the Hibs fans were on the ref's back any time he went near the ball.

Nobody I spoke to at the game even knew what he got his first booking for - presumably something the ref played advantage for as he pulled him up and carded him after a Hibs attack.

Don't think you can appeal a second yellow though?

And even if we did, they'd side with the ref, siting something like ungentlmanly conduct.

  13. That was probably the worst Saints performance I've ever seen - and I've seen a lot.

I'm the furthest you can get from being a boo-boy, and I didn't even boo today, but I totally understand those who did.

So many minuses, but two stuck particularly in my head on the way home.

Harkins yet again caught sleeping and causes us a goal. Once is bad, twice is unforgivable. And given the rest of his contributions have been so poor, I'd not be unhappy if we benched him until January and then let him go.

Bahoken is ready to come on. Waiting until the ball goes out, which it eventually does... for a corner to us. Great, get a big striker on in the hope that something will happen. But err, no. We wait. Corner taken, and it leads to another for us, and Bahoken is still on the sidelines.

I loudly expressed my incredulity at this, and a guy said "Maybe it was Thompson who is coming off" - even if it was, I wasn't sure keeping the striker you've decided to bring on on the sidelines when you have a corner made sense. As it was, next time the play stopped the substitution was made - and off comes DvZ.

So really, we have two corners, big striker about to be swapped for diminutive right back... and we decide to wait.

    W......... T.......... F!!!!!

  14. can u cancel a loan deal?

Depends on the specific terms, and also there are general rules I'm sure that cover this.

Assuming that's not a leading question though, inauspicious as his start has been, I really don't think we should consider it whilst we have nobody else.

Without him our strking options are Thompson and Reilly.

If/when Thommo picks up a suspension or injury, that would leave us with Reilly as our sole attacker.

Bahoken WILL get better I'm sure - whether the improvment will be enough for him to fulfill everyone's expectations though is another matter altogether.

  15. I wasn't there but if Stephane missed a couple of chances it surely means he was getting into the right position to miss.

As you say. Hope it's to do with ring rustiness.

He did look/sound hugely frustrated when he missed the second one especially.

Hopefully that's because he knows he's capable of a lot better?
