  1. I have been disappointed to see certain players leave the club but players move on for many different reasons. We thank them if they are successful which Cammy was. We move on as a club.

Me personally I’m am excited about who we are going to bring in and watching them playing for St Mirren. I have faith in the management team to have a successful transfer window

  2. Jones is the second one of the starting XI from Rugby Park to actually leave. Adam Hammill was the other one.
Lyness, Baird, Ferdinand, McGinn P, McGinn S, Hodson, Erhahon, Smith and Jackson are all still there. For now anyway!
Point is that of the six who have gone in January, only two will make a material difference to the team.
If Kpekawa, King and Eckersley all go then the same would apply.
The squad was horrendously bloated. I'm a tad disappointed Jones is gone as I quite liked him, but up to Oran/Gus to bring in better!

I was a big fan of Jones he was really coming on to his game.

I get that the squad is bloated and understand people moving on we all understand that.

You mention that we have lost only 2 of the starting 11 at Killie but I expect more of them to go. Even at that I don’t believe that starting 11 were good enough to keep us up.

The only players I wanted to keep were Jones, Ferdinand, P & S McGinn, Magennis, Hammil, Smith. The rest I could care if we punted them.
  3. What buds need to be concerned about is that Alfie was on a season long loan deal, and it appears just as Celtic wouldnt send Morgan here now as they would see it as detrimental to his development, it also appears Southampton feel the same and have recalled Alfie.
with big Anton about to secure a move back south we will be, unless Oran can recruit well and quickly the most threadbare defence in this league.
Still on the bright side it probably means we will have to recruit four or five now. Lol.
Edit: it also kicks Div's "only one of the last starting eleven" to leave post oot the water. And another of our gosl sorers gone!

Plenty of cover at centre half. We have Baird, MacKenzie, Kpekawa and if Ferdinand leaves we can recall Heaton. [emoji23]
  4. Certainly not worried yet on the signing front.

I am puzzled however why Jones has went back to Southampton. If he was recalled then that’s fine I’m sure Southampton had that option.

Also I read that we made an approach for the young lad Ralston. Again strange that we are going for right back when that is probably the only position in our squad we have decent options.

Aw come oot in the wash am sure.

  5. The only thing shocking is his post.

If your man enough to post rubbish like that blaming a guy that’s just in the door when it’s got bugger all to do with him then be man enough to take shite back as he already said in his post he knew what was coming it’s nothing more than trolling.

As other have said what’s the gus affect being successful and being an established premiership side.

He was asking a question. If that what he believes and if you disagree with it then there is no need for the guy to take abuse for it.

This sort of abuse is driving people away from the forum and to receive abuse from your fellow St Mirren supporters is sad IMO.
  6. Hi moderators of the forum can you please take this post down. As I started a conversation topic not in anyway stating anything as fact and even put it was a question not a statement and I only came on here to catch up with and chat with fellow St Mirren fans and have a good laugh. I didn't come on here for name calling and abuse. It's very disappointing as this is my very first post. I'd like it down as I get email alerts 're the comments put on the post and it's getting very unfair all this name calling. People can now write on here things like I'm a baby etc and say I should get off the forum but I genuinely was looking forward to coming on here and having some good banter! After me and my family being associated with the club for many years I expected better class from fellow fans. Not school ground name calling. Many thanks in advance moderators.

This is shocking behaviour. This guy comes on and posts and certain individuals give him abuse.
  7. Let get right behind the new manager. Needs time and at least the January window to see what squad he can shape.

We are crying out for stability and I think this appointment needs to be long term even if we need to go down to come back up which I know is easier said than done.

Welcome Oran delighted to have you in charge

  8. Not been confirmed by any official source. Kearney is thinking the offer over. To us it’s a no brainer but I think for him and his family it’s a hard decision. He would be resigning from two jobs and moving his kids from school uprooting his family.

I will wait till it has been confirmed like many on here have mentioned we have jumped the gun before and been embarrassed.

  9. I’m so worried. I’m one who says give him to Christmas then review but the performances are worrying to say the least. We ain’t just getting beat but we are getting destroyed. Looking for shoots of hope but I’m struggling even this early on in the season.

My honest opinion is that this squad would struggle to finish top half of the Championship. We can’t sack a manager who is on the longest contract I’ve known that we have given anyone. Stubbs must have been fantastic at the interview and the board must have given him 3yrs thinking he was the next Jack Ross. Hope I am wrong and Stubbs turns it round but with most our support now against him it’s not going to end up being a success me feels.

  10. Never raise the white flag. Even though we have had the biggest clusterf*ck of a recruitment strategy in this window I will always support the boys and have confidence misguided or not we can have a good season.

Even if we were to replicate Brechin’s performance of last season I would still be there keeping the faith.

Joys of being a St Mirren supporter.
