  1. I can't see another striker coming in we have cover with Campbell & Reilly but that will prevent us going route one or direct. I think we may see a wide midfield player and another centre half. Would love to see us taking Templeton on loan
  2. I would love a fast winger surely if Motherwell can unearth one after another we can get one
  3. Not quite the signing I would like to see as he is nearly 40. I would love to see us go for a experienced centre half and wide player with pace to burn
  4. Window is opened and on the run we are on now we must bring in players now. Not only would this be a lift to the other players but I fear if we don't we could end up in the dreaded playoffs. The signing of Campbell is a positive bit we can't rely on youth as everyone knows youngsters are inconsistent. Experience needed?
  5. I would say McGregor is not going through a great run of form at the moment but I still reckon he is one of our top two centre halves
  6. Tom Hendrie I liked especially after steering us to promotion in the manner we did but he did only give us one season in the top flight. I would put Danny & even Gus in front of him am afraid
  7. No pleasing some people but that is your opinion and even though a don't agree with it that's what forums are all about. Just hope your not too disappointed with what Santa brings you. Merry Christmas
  8. For all the abuse he receives from a minority of our supporters I firmly believe that Danny Lennon is our best manager in the 25 years arguably 30 years. The reasoning behind me saying that is he steered us to our best top flight position in that time and winning the league cup in his three and a half season stewardship. Puts some people's criticism into perspective. Can you name a better one in the 25 years?
  9. You stirred up a few with this post. Can you name a better St Mirren manager before you would need to go back a fair few years to name one
  10. Well we have now went four Premiership games without a goal and don't seem to be creating much of late. Is this our achilles heel which will ensure we don't get near to troubling the top 6? Now let me make something clear when I say this is not focused at our best striker I can remember in my 33yrs as a St Mirren fan and the legend that is Steven Thompson but more about the lack of goals throughout the team. It seems if Thommo does not score we struggle. I don't believe Harkins is the answer playing off Thommo and I understand we are looking at bringing in Adam Campbell who hopefully can chip in with a few if we get him but surely the midfield have got to help out. McGowan for all his creative play does not get enough goals. Kenny McLean has potential to score more along with Conor Newton. Also I think we could score more goals from set pieces. Is this just a blip or is this a weakness of ours? Thoughts?
  11. I don't think he is good enough to make the grade at Newcastle but will do a job in the Championship
  12. I believe like a lot of other people that Naismith will become a centre half for us as that is his natural position.
  13. I think when we play him out wide we waste him and should be played more in the middle of the park but play him out wide to accommodate him in the team
  14. Conor Newton will be forever be a St Mirren legend for scoring our winning goal in the league cup final but will the legend be looking at pastures new with his loan coming to an end. Putting sentiments aside would we lesser side without him? Who would fill the void in the midfield from our current squad? Are we better using the wage contribution for another area of the side where we have less competition if so where? Should we do all in our power to persuade Newcastle and the player to extend the loan? Thoughts?
  15. Bare in mind we can move Naismith in one to centre half where I believe he will end up
  16. My heart says Cheesy & McGregor due to Cheesy being a St Mirren fan and McGregor being a no nonsense defender which I like. My head says Mair & McGregor as they compliment each other better in my opinion
  17. PS I didn't see a "timely" thread discussing the goalkeepers place after our keepers howler against QOS? Why don't you start one? Kello has had a bad couple of games but I still think he is our best keeper. Every player makes mistakes. Cheesy is a decent hardworking centre half I just think we have two better at the club
  18. Things happen that trigger talking points for sure this is not based on one game. If we are looking at yesterday's game I thought Kello had more of a shocker than Cheesy or anyone else. If u feel Cheesy is one of best two centre halves that is your opinion I am simply stating I feel Mair and McGregor are our best two centre halves
  19. It is not bashing the lad to voice an opinion that we have 2 better centre halves
