Oh FFS, politicians playing political games with the local football club. How long did it take them to think that PR stunt up?
Of course the club and council should have closer links and share more services. This is something that I would hope 10000hrs could build on once established. But, the headline statement of council "taking over" St Mirren just sounds like a load of pish. It isn't going to happen.
Keep your petty games away from our football club.

Based on the re-tweets by 10000hours it looks, unsurprisingly, that the st Mirren vote is a resounding NO.
-
Drew is correct, the name "rangers" is irrelevant. The questions have to be re-worded they are overly negative in the extreme. Cut the emotive crap, it devalues the polling process.

Having read everything Div has said today, I appreciate there is a risk involved. But, that's life.
Just because I'd be broke if I didn't rob the bank doesn't mean that I was 'right' to rob the bank.
That may seam slightly simplistic for what is an extremely complex situation but the principle is the same. I cannot and will not support the club or 10000hrs if they make the wrong decision. There are plenty forms of entertainment out there worthy of my money than what would be a morally bankrupt football league.
-
I'm reading this as a newco voted out and resulting in a drop in income will mean the takeover won't happen. The bid is dependent on current income being maintained.
As much as I've got a lot of time for all the guys involved and appreciate the work done, that scenario is an absolute showstopper for me. There is no compromise to be made.

#notonewco.
As some one pointed out on the other thread, the funding package has to anticipate the worst case scenario in sporting terms (ie, relegation in 10 months time). A reduction in TV money is no as extreme as relegation so should be academic. I think 10000 hours is in a decent position to renegotiate the terms with Bii. They can evidence the huge support of the St Mirren fan base as well as the general consensus in Scottish football regarding the NewCo. Scottish football will prosper without Sevco and Bii have to be made aware of this. Any good lobbyists on board?
-
The response to the statement is simple. #notonewco at all costs.
-
Somner, credit where it is due. You've done a fantastic Job in persuading many fans to sign up. We all appreciate it.
-
Only Animal could turn a post that carefully explains why 10000 hours have not promoted a scheme making use of credit facilities into some kind of negative nonesense about encouraging fans to take on debt.
Thick or personal agenda? I'm sure most posters have already decided.

Get in!

Some fantastic Twitter action tonigh ladies and gents. Credit to Richard, Div, et al. Let's get the word spread far and wide. We should ensure there are substantial articles in all of the the Sunday's this week, and I don't just mean copies of the Asociated Press release.
I'm sure GMac will be on the case for his paper, what about the others? What about Sportsound?
-
Somner told us that this milestone wasn't achievable and the fans weren't on board. Like so many other of his points, he was wrong.
-
The fact that the fans have reached the target will provide evidence to commercial sponsors that this is a worthwhile investment.
-
Have to say the quality of SMISA's statements are pretty poor. Fortunately I doubt many SMFC fan s will read or even be aware of it.
-
I get it ;)
-
Sid, this is a monumental change of position in the space of a few days, even for you! Have to say I really don't share your concerns though.
-
well i'm sure no one could accuse you of laziness.
You really are such a 'Buzy-buddie'
You purport to be looking out for the best interests of SMFC but when it comes down to detail, this comment is the level of debate that you bring to the table. I'm not really surprised though.

Working football club??? I thought it came from Clyde? Now that is really the scrapings of the barrel, still they know a thing or two about administration, and literally moving their goalposts.
I must have missed the announcements for fans to come along....
Why are you obsessed with where the draft originated? Other than confirming it was reproduced with permission (which I understand it was), any credible fan would be more interested in the content and whether it was effective for the purposes of 10000 hours. I can't see how improving on an already tested document can be seen as negative. It is clearly the most efficient route. Clyde's circumstances are irrelevant to the matter, but you just enjoy muddying the waters and "scraping the barrel".
As for "missing announcements", well you don't have a great track record in obtaining information, usually down to your own laziness/incompetence (delete as appropriate). 10000hrs can't be held responsible for that.
-
Pray tell how one might help shape the constitution thats already been drawn up without any fan involvement then? Sid would like to know too!
If "one" is so genuinely interested it would be simple for them to find out the answer to that question. However, if "one" is either unusually lazy or unable to digest factual information they will struggle to realise this answer.
It's fascinating that you can hold such staunch views on a subject without knowing/ looking at the detail. Such a trait must be a bitch in the real world, no?
-
Seems that all the requests to properly engage and be a real co-operative have failed, and it's the size of your walloper (redundant shareholding) that gets you a seat at the BoD table.
Again, factually incorrect. Bit of a habit this is becoming for you, eh?
-
Looking at it objectively...
Pull the other one.
-
Jeez thats another big nail been driven in. Obviously pledges always outweigh commitment but I never thought they were that far adrift.
Thats nearly half what they were claiming, genuinely shocked it's that low.
If you bothered to pay attention and educate yourself you would know that they have never "claimed" they had more DD's than the counter currently states. You have a real inability to deal in facts or you intentionally ignore the facts in order to drive your negative and uninformed, dirty campaign.
-
Well done to GLS and REA for managing to progress this project to it's current position. Just ignore the lunatics and all their childish hysterics.
Somner doesn't even understand the concept and has shown no desire over the last 12 months to want to understand the facts.
Sid, well he just loves the attention.

It isn't going to happen, get real.... Or wait 20 mins and you're due to change your mind anyway.
