  1. Unfortunately, Goodwin's absolutely rubbish in midfield too.

100% disagree. Against Thistle, in the first half, we looked the most threatening going forward when Goodwin got the ball in the middle of the park and charged forward. He should start at CM.

  2. Gareth's post sums it up quite well...we only had 2 or 3 guys willing to sit deeper for a spell whilst Gareth tried to get up and down the park as best he could. Others just stayed up the park all game.

The non bibs struggled to get the ball up the park as the defenders had no options to pass to and the bibs cut out every long ball. Then 3 or 4 of them just ran at the 2 or 3 defenders and scored at will.

It's just not much fun if your willing to take your turn and stay back but others don't and your about 20 goals down due to attackers outnumbering you.

Anyways...hope it was just a one off, and the lucky draw produces more balanced teams next week.

Defenders were out numbering us as well at points, don't forget that. For a good 15/ 20 mins I was up against 2/3 defenders myself.

But yeah, Gareth's post summed it up well. We didn't have a proper structure to the team - should probably work out a formation like the bibs done yesterday.

We were quite narrow too - all the bibs goals pretty much came from the wings (thought Chris and Fraser were excellent on the wings for the bibs).

Bad Start + Heads going down = Drubbing.

  3. I don't even know how to begin explaining how shite we were. First game back for myself, and I was rank rotten - don't think I actually made a solid tackle the whole night. Still, managed to score a hat - trick - should have scored more though.

Our passing was poor, man marking was hopeless, tracking back was awful and we were caught out of position too many times. (Sound like St.Mirren here.....)

Woke up with a lovely egg - shaped lump on my head after Div's Bruce Lee attempt at a clearance....cheers....

Motm for bibs: I'd give it to Ewan.

Motm for non-bibs: Gareth worked hard the whole game, so he is deserving of it.

Oh well, on to next week.

  4. Would love to have an Under Armour kit. I have the spurs home top from last season, and the quality of it is brilliant. Regularly play football in it, and thus have to wash it a lot, and there has been no problem with colours running, printing and sponsors coming off or any pulls on it. Best quality top I have ever owned - a massive improvement on the season before's puma effort - which was shocking - went grey, pulls all over it etc. Would rather stick with JD than Puma!

  5. Dwyer is away back out on loan at Orlando, as they made it to the Final game of the league (after play offs etc). Final was tonight and he scored a Hat -trick as Orlando won 7-4. Good wee player, but still dubious about the standard of the American Leagues!

  6. Sat two rows in front of that arse in W6 giving him abuse. Bang out. The boy has literally just come on the field - I think it was his very first touch when he started the tirade of abuse.

I'm very sorry that we didn't sign Lionel Messi - next time have a think. he was in earshot, think that's going to do anything to help his confidence. Absolute joke.

  7. Danny Lennon will be forever a part of St.Mirren History. He historically won us the League Cup - and for that, I thank him.

    But enough is enough.

His first season with us was disastrous. Stayed up by the skin of our teeth. The following season was the best I have seen in the top flight as a St.Mirren fan - as sad as it may be. He brought in the big guns and strengthened our extremely weak team. That season was only good for us, because we played players in their natural position, and had a spine of experience in the team - Samson - Mair - Goodwin - Thompson. IIRC, we went on a downwards slide from about february that year, and it feels like it we've been in it ever since!

1 League win in 2013 is shocking, and our League campaign last year was woeful - he could've been sacked on that alone. Messing around with players positions, and following that campaign, releasing players with out adequate cover is unforgivable. It's seriously costing us this yea - and he's the man who made that decision to release certain players.

The League Cup win has kept him in the job tbh, and he has been running on it since we won it.

Time to go Danny - thanks for everything - but your time is up.
