Psychopathy is not just about murderous nutters.
There's a list of attributes held by professionals now which guides doctors in identifying them.
That online test isn't it. Psychopaths are believed by professionals to be widespread throughout society in all parts of the world.
Very few if any turn into murders or violent people.
They are however capable of doing appalling things without remorse, regret, empathy or otherwise.
There are some very famous cases of suspected psychopathy involving film stars, politicians, business leaders etc.
Indeed. When I said 'true' psychopaths I meant the divergence of the range of attributes you identify (there are others) but I didn't mean to suggest that only true psychopaths murder. As I understand it the 'condition', if it is a condition, is to do with the total lack of distinction between morally objective right and wrong, amongst other things. Certainly, it has become fashionable to think of mental conditions as being on a scale; e.g. we're all said to be somewhere on the autism scale, but there's a massive difference between me and, for example, my wife who has the diagnosis of mild autism where I wouldn't rate that. But while we all might demonstrate traits that psychopaths have, I'm not sure that puts us on the same scale as I don't think those traits, individually, equate to psychopathy. Perhaps a qualified clinical psychologist on here can clarify?

I'm a bit skeptical about the programme maker's claims of the numbers of psychopaths in society. I studied psychopathy in the 80's as part of a criminology course in my law degree, and if I remember correctly, back then the numbers of those considered 'true' psychopaths were tiny, you could almost name them all from memory (if their names had been disclosed). I admit I've not been keeping up due to a subsequent career change but still find these claims hard to believe. Could it be marketing...? Some of the people I studied were disconcertingly normal most of the time (though a large proportion had a history of childhood firestarting and/or severe animal cruelty) - it was their ability to switch from a normal behavior to extreme criminality without blinking that amazed. I particularly remember one man who had been in a pub with his girlfriend when she admired the necklace of a woman in the bar. A few minutes later he followed the woman outside and beat her to death with his bare hands, returning to the pub to present the necklace to his beloved. Nice gift.

Due to a 40-year long personal grudge I absolutely LOVE it when we beat QoS! Makes me even happier than beating M*rton or that other, now defunct, club from Glasgow. Great stuff Saints.

Is that not the maximum anticipated network d/l speed, not a guaranteed rate? I may be wrong but think other network traffic will have a bearing and there's nowt you can do about that.

Dilo signed a 1 year contract and Cornell signed a 1 year loan. It seems virtually certain that Cornell will be recalled in January due to him not getting any game time, so that will leave us with Dilo as our only contracted keeper beyond January, and he's injured!
Here's hoping we can get Marian tied up till at least the end of the season ASAP.
I agree: we need to get Kello signed up or we could end up with one keeper. I work in Edinburgh, mostly surrounded by Hearts fans who all rate him hugely and feel he's probably been the biggest loss. And they pretty much all agree that Grainger was a quality player they'd rather had stayed.

I saw Van at Edinburgh Castle about 10 years ago maybe with a bunch of mates on one of Van's famous off nights of pointless jazzy noodling. Utter rubbish, sadly. We were er, quite 'refreshed'. During a quiet interlude one of our team enquired 'Do you know any Van Morison songs?' which I thought was an excellent line in the circumstances.
The Scotsman (an Edinburgh-based newspaper) reported the next day that the contemplative nature of the event had been spoiled for many by the loutish behaviour of 'Glasgow types'. What an insult.

I'm pretty sure the average wage including part time workers is even lower than £26k, around £22k and the median wage lower still presumably- around £21k .
I suppose the point is we're in a European freedom of labour market now and that pay rate differentials are supposed to even out which in reality isn't happening quickly disadvantaging workers here. On the other hand, if pay was much higher in Poland our boys could go there and undercut the locals. Problem then might be around qualifications. I don't know about engineering, I suspect we're pretty strong there, but in construction I've a few builder friends in Sweden (well, three) who agree they'd be unlikely to hire Brits - they tell me the guys who come over are so relatively unqualified/ unskilled compared to the local trades, yet expect top rates.

Not a surprise mate, I've noticed this on this forum for years but been shot down for daring to suggest such a thing.
Absolutely astounding that so called supporters put personal views before St Mirren football club.
I think there's another interpretation; i.e. some supporters think we are more likely to do poorly under (insert manager name).............and that we would do better with someone else and lose less often. No Saints fan wants the team to lose in the long run, it's counter intuitive and a ridiculous notion, but some undoubtedly feel stepping back that, at times, a bad result leading to a dismissal is the lesser of two evils. And let's face it, players and staff come and go, fans (generally) are the only constant at any football club.

he is without a doubt the most useless pundit / commentator in Scottish football. I refuse to listen to any games he's on as I just end up shouting at the wireless. And someone tell him it's not NEW St Mirren Park FFS. It's Love Street.

Regardless of what you think of UKIP this guy was done over on the BBC. His comment was so obviously a joke, and can clearly be heard to have been taken as such by the majority of the audience, but somebody was desperate to make story of it. The BBC also repeatedly reported he'd hit a reporter when the footage shows he's just flapped at him harmlessly with a piece of paper. Journalistic 'licence' they call it. Pathetic stuff from the BBC. The lefties accuse the righties of being racists (as if people on the right have a monopoly on that...) and the righties accuse the lefties of demolishing the economy, blah blah blah 'your mammy' playground pish. Politicians aren't the only reason people have turn away from politics in this country, some of the media coverage is utterly abysmal and we deserve much, much better.

Rangers Football Club. The other half of the Old Firm was The Rangers Football Club, finally liquidated in June I think.
Of course many would argue that the club and the company aren't exactly one and the same, which I understand, though I can't see how one can exist without the other.

It's like Isabella duke 's "10th non old firm team therefor DL is a poor manager" but it's equally true that we finished 20 places above an old firm team making DL the best manager in the history of the universe. We all know the stats aren't brilliant but let's try not to twist them to suit our opinions, I'm happy to hear everybody's opinion, nobody has to twist the stats to validate them.
I know what you mean, but wasn't the Old Firm consigned to history when Rangers FC was liquidated and one of the partners ceased to exist?
