  1. You buy an SMFC ST for £323 - you get a free stream of home games only.
You live abroad ([emoji1]) and you buy SMFC TV for around £60 - you get both home and away games.
Can someone explain that one to me please?
Do ST holders even get access to a replay of the away games?

I was an overseas SMTV subscriber up until last season, due to the fact that more often than not .......... it was crap. In the seasons I was a subscriber, I never got any away games available to view. Are away games a new thing for SMTV?
  2. Hey, don't dis petrol for dinner. [emoji38]

That’s a premium 4 star culinary delight, keeps you ticking over for hours. Just don’t drink it too quickly, wouldn’t want you to “choke”

Could get a lot of miles out of this one........ Taxi [emoji595]
  3. And just another tiny reason why I don't think Trump is really a good president of the US...
His country is a mere 4% of world’s population it now has 23% of #coronavirus deaths.
Him ignoring the appalling reality of those figures and pointing at the rest of the world's data, whilst saying that US is doing just fine, is being as far from Presidential as I can imagine.

You have your views on Mr Trump chap, I have mine and we’ll probably disagree on lots of topics.
However, I don’t honestly believe that the amount of deaths attributed to COVID were actually due to ......... COVID. That’s just not in the USA, but even in the UK.
From what I’ve read (again I can’t confirm the validity) that certain NY hospitals we’re getting up to $50k for each COVID toe tag for insurance claims and were encouraged to do so.
I watched an interview on Sky a couple of weeks ago where some chap told Adam Bolton that the UK figures could be out by 25% (that’s 25% less) The guy stated that if you had COVID back in March, made a full recovery and got killed by a bus in May........ it was COVID that killed you.
Lots of conflicting information out there.
  4. FFS [mention=15923]Sue Denim[/mention]'s not gonna like this....
Millions of people aged between 50 and 70 could be told to stay at home as the Government scrambles to avoid a second national lockdown, according to reports.

I wonder what happens to the over 70’s [emoji848]
  5.

The American economy (like just about every other country) took a severe nosedive with the whole COVID thing........ hardly Trump’s fault.

I’m assuming it was the Afghan war that was being referred to (but I stand corrected) It’s not quite over but Trump has pulled the majority of US troops out of there.

North Korean. He may not have taken the nuclear threat away, but Trump surely has to be commended for going over to NK and having face to face talks.

The Democrats have tried everything to get rid of Trump and this current situation across various states (all Democrat run) is probably their last role of the dice.
Had it been anyone else sitting in the chair and had accomplished what Trump has done........ would there be the same outcry?
I do cringe at times at some of Trump’s statements, but i agree with a lot of his policies.
The Democrats are a disgrace the way they’ve behaved since even before Trump was elected.
  6. Why are so many from the medical fraternity being silenced?
Is it that they’re questioning that the virus was allegedly man made?

Is it that they’re questioning the treatment? (Ventilators)

Is it that they’re questioning alternative medication without the need for the vaccine?

  7. Indeed.
Thousands of people die of the flu every year and no-one blinks an eye.
If lockdown occurred well after the peak of infections and we assume has made no difference (and the example of Sweden confirms that), then by comparing with previous flu seasons we can see that the current “pandemic” is no different to a bad flu season.
Graph below compares to the flu season of 99/00. Now, despite the thousands of collateral deaths caused by the lockdown, along with Covid deaths AND the flu deaths this winter, all cause mortality in 19/20 is still less than the flu season of 99/00.
Does anyone remember the flu season of 99/00? Does anyone even know it happened?

  8. It peaks in the winter but still at a low level in the summer. That’s what makes it seasonal.

When that article talks about 3 times as many flu deaths as Covid, you need to remember that there are now very few Covid deaths in the U.K. (ignore the discredited PHE figures).

Around 8-9k thousand people die a week in the summer with deaths hitting around 14k a week at the peak in Dec / Jan. Flu is thought to be the main driver of those excess deaths.

Why aren’t we testing for flu now? It’s killing more people than Covid just now and will kill more this winter.
If it’s really about saving lives then why aren’t we switching our attention to flu?

I don’t think Flu has the same fear factor.
  9. Got to love this [mention=8643]bazil85[/mention] type stupidity from the BBC:
“For a full fortnight there have been no new daily deaths. A total of 4,201 fatalities have now been linked to Covid-19, including eight last week, according to NRS figures“
No new deaths AND 8 new deaths all in the same time period and all in the same paragraph.
You’d think that, unlike baz, a professional journalist would maybe look a bit deeper and explain what the numbers actually mean.....

Professional and Journalist are not words you’d often hear/read in the same sentence.
  10. Sturgeon last week:
Sturgeon said: “I don’t think any of us should be trying to use Covid and the pandemic and the crisis situation we continue to face as some kind of political campaigning tool.”

This week, they’re selling SNP branded masks
Just when you think they can’t sink any lower....

I believe some are using it for political gains.

Trinidad. 8 fatalities in total. Border been shut for months. Election on August 10th........... new COVID cases detected.......... they’re saying it’s being spread by the Sahara dust.
  11. "Hate" is about as strong a word as you can use in any context.  You "hate" the fact that participants in a sport where racial abuse has been widespread are trying to set an example and use their position to educate.  I think, most of all, you seem to "hate" the idea that you will get a persistent reminder that the behaviours that led to the movement are not to be tolerated.
Hope you enjoy explaining that to Trinidadians of African descent.

    Maybe I’m missing something?
I was of the impression that this whole taking the knee was in support of the BLM movement (not to be confused with actual black lives as the BLM movement don’t seem to care about them) which found prominence as a result of the death of George Floyd at the hands (or knee) of a police officer.
So Football players take a knee for a week or for a season.......... then what? What’ll have changed? Will that have stopped racists being racist?

Your second point WRT Trinidadians of African heritage. I suggest you do a bit of research on that one. Racism is a global issue, and it’s just not whites that are racist.
  12. Radio Scotland reported today that it will be adopted by all Scot Prem clubs this season as the players had agreed to back it. Quite how they were surveyed I don't know. There was no mention of any pressure it was reported that it was solely the players decision.

Surely if this goes ahead it has to be for the opening day/weekend set of fixtures? I’d hate to think this is going to be a weekly occurrence.
  13. Someone has to promote the club about the town 🤪[emoji23], but yep mate that’s exactly it, seems to be an old firm sticker and graffiti war in paisley and the west of Scotland, good to see some of the young lads showing there’s more than 2 clubs around this area.

Any chance you young fellows could come up with some decent songs?
The likes of “Oooooohhhhh wee Stevie Mallan” doesn’t cut it these days.
What about a couple of wee toe tapper type numbers for when the fans are allowed back. [emoji4]
  14. I don't ever remember Stubbs indicating that he had made any mistakes at all during his time with us.
He's blaming players and board members.
He must know that this makes him unemployable as a manager so maybe he's trying to get a gig in media as a "tell it how I see it" pundit?
We SHOULD be aiming at top 6 and the fans need to know that's where we are aiming.
Other than sending us all private emails, how else is he to get that message out to us?
Stubbs just isn't doing himself any favours with this approach.

We haven’t done too bad to recover from the shambles he left behind.
It shows how good a job Kearney and Goodwin have done IMO.
  15. The point is a simple one. All lives haven't mattered and the African, whether in white controlled Africa or in white controlled USA or white controlled Europe and South America have systematically treated this group abominably. They have a right to have the wrongs against them recognised. Moving on and reconciliation  is only possible when truth is told.

I’d say times have moved on for blacks in America. Do blacks not have equality in the states?
I believe everyone acknowledges the wrongs that were done in the past.
I can’t really comment on how things are going in Africa, but Famine and years of civil wars can’t really be blamed on the white man. South Africa hasn’t exactly flourished since the ANC took over.
  16. What has that got to do with singling out ONE section for recognition? There have been many atrocities put upon many people. I haven't seen any "Jews lives matter". Don't they matter? What about the Native Americans? "Red lives matter". Native Australians? "Aboriginal lives matter".  And that's to mention but a few.
The point I am making isn't that Black lives don't matter. It's that ALL lives matter. I say again. I would be happy to join in if it said, "Black lives matter TOO". The statement without that addditional word could infer that other lives don't.

I don’t support the BLM movement, but obviously the lives of black people do matter, as all lives do.
I don’t get it with some players going down on one knee with the fist in the air which was (if I’m not mistaken) originated from the Black Panther movement.
I also disagree with having their logo on football kits. Wasn’t that long ago When England played Scotland Wembley they were told they couldn’t have the poppy on the strips because it was deemed as a political statement. BLM are a political movement that don’t really seem to care that much about blacks. It is my opinion being used and promoted as a political tool, especially in the states as a last chance saloon to get rid of Trump.
