  1. I see more street parties in London resulted in the police being showered with missiles.
Among the things being thrown was a bike........................bet they regret that in the morning.
Be thankful we don't live in that shithole. :thumbsdown

What kinda bike was it...........Chopper or Tomahawk?????
  2. Absolutely agree. (it was closed for years. One to stop it falling down.. I think. Two to upgrade it. Moscow Centre is worth a visit.. But not cheap.

I remember being in a supermarket in Yuzhno (Sakhalin Island) and having to do a double take........... they sold Irn Bru.
  3. Lol. I still have two also. I enjoyed my visit to the Ballet in Moscow in that slightly famous theatre. Didn't fly there in a 747 anytime though. That journey from Moscow City Centre to the Airport is a nightmare.

My last visit to Moscow the Bolshoi was being renovated, I think it was closed for around 5 years. Red Square, St Basil’s cathedral are well worth a visit. Moscow in general is well worth a long weekend.
  4. Right so concentrating on the topic in hand any tears over the 747s demise are just first world nostalgia, they've had their day as has sending children up chimneys and licking asbestos tiles
As I should've replied to [mention=7598]Russian Saint[/mention] I have let my passport expire and will never travel abroad again so I won't miss them...

If you ever change your mind, I have two passports. You can borrow one if you like.
  5. Always loved seeing 747's taking off at Glasgow Airport. I remember once driving along Barnsford Road when a 747 took off and I was right underneath it as it flew above the road. Magic!
Only ever been on long haul flights to Dubai.
First time I went in 1995, I flew on a KLM 747 there and back. The second time it was BA flights on 777's.
I did see the Virgin 747 that was in Glasgow Airport for lockdown taking off a few weeks ago.
    Sad to see them go.[emoji20]
No idea why I like watching planes taking off and landing. I have a similar , sad fascination with car ferries.

I’ve never witnessed a car ferry taking off. [emoji87]
  6. Any chance you could post more hilariously insane quackery videos please?
It fair brightens the place up in here.
We haven't seen videos suggesting Vitamin C and prayer as cures for covid for a while. Something along those lines please. Oh and if the video quality could be similar to those from the 1990s that would be even better. Just remember to sign off your post with "open yer eyes peeepul".

How about this for a bit of hilarity

  7. As you can tell, this is very much tongue in cheek. I don't know either Russian.
I find both acceptable in the main and have no personal gripe with either. The only complaint I have ever made on here did however relate to Wee Boaby but didn't refer to any posts about myself, rather his treatment of more vulnerable Forum Members. Not surprisingly, Wee Boaby and his pal's were not amused
Shull, I know has his pet topics and is highly consistent. I don't agree with much of what he says but am happy to recognise his right to say it.
Wee Boaby does make a number of decent posts and points, his downside is that he has a tendency towards anger and personalising issues and encouraging others to do the same.
I wouldnt transfer either to England but from the Live Games on TV and Betting threads it looks like Wee Boaby has more or less made the move already.

So........ is FS AKA Wee Boaby......... or are you saying he has a Wee Boaby?

I guess that’ll be me taking this discussion off topic which could result in a tit for tat tirade of abuse [emoji87]
  8. I have no issue with either of the gentlemen mentioned.

Shull has his political leanings as we all do, and he’s very much entitled to that. He also has his opinions on the OF and ticket prices (which can be repetitive)
I can’t say I’ve always agreed with Shull on some of his views (Craig Samson being one and probably his views on the Old/newish firm)

FS has in my opinion made some valid points on many a topic, and again in my opinion takes the piss at times with other forum members.

My only gripe on this site is when things go way off topic and it becomes a tit for tat tirade of personal insults. My choice is either to read them, or not.

In general I believe them to be two good eggs, though I don’t know them personally.

  9. Where do you find this stuff?

Ricky, are you referring to Shull’s posts?
There are other outlets on social media that give a different slant from the MSM narrative.
I first sat up and took note when I was living in Russia of how biased the MSM actually was. For example. Sky News, BBC etc would give their version of facts, RT, WION news would give a totally different view of the so called facts. Since then I’ve always looked at both sides of the story and somewhere in between you’d probably find the truth.
On the BLM movement (the organisation) there are plenty of black voices opposing it.
On YouTube for example, check out Jericho Greene or Officer Tatum. Check their videos and you (not you in general) may (or may not) form a different opinion.
  10. Horrific it was. I know the location well. Having seen it on TV it is right next door to where I had an office.
Not very far from a large police station, Stewart Street, I think. . Good, quick response. There will obviously be an investigation into shooting the suspect rather than e.g. Tasering him.

Ricky. Do you believe the Police were too heavy handed WRT how they dealt with the situation?
One Policeman stabbed, multiple other victims so the police I imagine faced with a rampaging knife wielding maniac. Personally speaking, I believe they were totally justified in using deadly force. The officer would have had a split second decision to negate further threat.
I remember the incident in London where the guy decked the alleged terrorist with a whale bone. The police moved in and shot the terrorist dead. Anyone carrying out such attacks should expect that same outcome.
No doubt we’ll see protests about police over reaction/brutality etc. I sincerely hope we’re not going to follow the current trend from idiots calling for defunding the Police.
  11. There's a gathering planned for tomorrow at 1200 but let's not kid ourselves that this has anything to do with protecting a war memorial,.
It's a bunch of knuckle-dragging blue bigots  and extreme right-wingers spoiling for a fight with anyone who looks at them in a way they don't like.

To a certain extent I agree with you, but there’ll be a lot of good people there that genuinely care about the cenotaph.
It wasn’t long ago the skateboard mob were chased away from playing there. Anyone that defaces, pisses upon or whatever deserves a good slap........ IMO.
  12. Good memories reading through this.
I remember a bar in Forbes place, I believe it was called Canne, first bar as I remember to serve a pint in the vase style glass.
Another from the 80’s was under the bridge at Gilmore street station, I can picture it but can’t recall the name.
Paisley Park (think it was called the Turf before and after Paisley Park) was another mid 80’s venue.

  13. Why not the Saints play there home games at SDA, but with no opposition supporters?
I’m sure if it were either limited to season ticket holders initially spread across the four stands to maintain the social distancing and then look at allowing non season ticket holders in.
    Just a thought.

“Their”........ not “there” before I get pulled up [emoji85]
