  1. Were you at Firhill?

    Thompson is far from finished.

Your opinion of Arquin is based on what exactly? I thought he showed a lot of promise.

Ball is an adequate back up bench warmer.

I was indeed at firhill. Care to remind me exactly what Thompson contributed during his time on the park?

My opinion is based on the games Arquin has played for us already and the times i've seen him at County. He's an erratic forward that misses glaring opertunities, has a regular habit of standing offside thus killing any attack we create and is a cheat.

Ball just isnt good enough. For a striker thats desperate for goals and is judged on his goalscoring tally. He spends more time out wide crossing balls into the area where he should be in the first place.

  2. Doubt it. We have Thompson, Arquin and Ball. Three players for one position, can't see any of them playing together.

I'd be amazed if we signed another 'number 9' style of player. It's probably the only position we don't need anyone in.

Thompson is finished, Arquin isnt very good and neither is Ball. I'd say we need a #9 striker desperately.

  3. The difference here, poz - and it's a biggie - is that united and in turn, Celtic will not sell these guys for an absolute pittance. GMS is out of contract and even then, Utd won't budge for a six figure sum. They are masters of negotiating. As are Celtic.

They've also just turned down a third improved bid for Armstrong. If SA was our player he'd already be on his way to Lennoxtown for £75 and a couple of fitbas

  4. It's an utter disgrace that we've sold Kenny for such a small fee and going to a team in the same league makes it worse it sickens me. I'm inclined to believe a well connected journalist over a guy that runs a fans website regarding the release clause so that adds more insult to the fact we accepted the offer in the first place.

The board have been ripping the hole out of us for years and years and it's disgusting.

  5. Getting back onto the topic of this thread.

Now that James Dayton has signed on until the end of the season, what should the team be against Thistle?

    How about :-

    Ridgers,

    Naismith, Goodwin, McAusland, Tesselaar

    Osbourne, Mallan, McGinn, Kelly

    McLean, Thompson

Edited due to my team having 13 players in it..... Even we'd manage to win that game! oops.....

  6. Not seen it mentioned anywhere else on here. James Dayton ex killie expected to sign before window closes.

He was decent enough at Killie (aside from that awful beard he grew) and could give us an edge in games with his skill down the wing(s). Far Far more than Wylde will offer us.

  7. I actually thought Gary made the wrong subs.Moving Mallan was a huge mistake. As for Wylde time up I am afraid. He just does not put in a shift and he was culpable at their second goal completely pulling out of a tackle.

I totally agree. I was going off my head with him when their second goal went in. No heart, no desire, no interest in being here. One of the laziest footballers i've seen play for us!

  8. Aye, mentioned this last week. We had another example of it from the Dundee player who was eventually stretchered off yesterday.

Maybe it is a specifically developed code for a footballer to inform the physio that he has picked up a sore onedry.png

Alternatively....perhaps it is footballer code for saying 'I'm a play-acting cock!'.

Or maybe he was in serious pain?....

  9. Takes the pressure off Marc.

Marc " Did I do something wrong boss? The fans were giving me pelters"

Gary Teale "Don't worry son, it wasn't you they were giving pelters it was young Kyle"

Marc "Ah that makes sense, I am the best centre back in the SPL and was fantastic again wasn't I so the fans would not give me pelters"

Gary "Of course you are son, now go and tell your dad I deserve the job full time"

Marc "Ok boss, I will do that then go to the Craig Dhu for a pint then go on a pub crawl about Paisley"

Utterly pathetic. Get a life, man.

  10. Danny Lennon for Hamilton

Would be a perfect fit for Lennon imo. The whole squad is set up to play football the way Lennon idolises and there's a heavy focus on youth development. He should be one of the people Accies interview.

Also, this move of Neil to Norwich could be our saving grace this season.... Neil is/was heavily involved in all development and adult squads at the club. Many of the players that are now in the first team were coached by Neil through the age groups. If he were to go, we possibly could see Accies on the slide. With a new manager and new ideas that the boys might not fancy, not giving that extra 5% for the manager as they're not attached as they were to Alex Neil. We seen it with TC and our boys. Hopefully we'll see Accies down our end of the table soon.

  11. Fanbase, Honours/History, continually finishing top end of the table etc. They're bigger, richer and more successful than us.

Dundee United are not a much bigger club than St Mirren, not sure how you could even suggest that. Until recently they couldn't even be considered the biggest team in Dundee.

  12. Dundee United after 3m quid for Ciftci, they got the same for Robertson (stolen from Queens Park) and Gauld who came their youth system. They would want to 2m to 3m for Armstrong.

United are a little bigger than us, but not really by that much.

Ciftci certainly isn't much better than McLean.

Time to stop having the piss ripped out of us with these transfer offers. Stick a 1.5m each price tag on McLean & McGinn and let them negotiate down from there.

Dundee United are a much bigger club than St.Mirren, Unfortunately.
