  1. Sorry, rea... you're sabotaging your own world view, there.  [emoji4]
There is no magic required for atheism - only rationality.
We don't need to put our faith in fairies...

...as 95.1% of the Universe is currently "missing" the rationality you speak of has only so far been applied to 4.9% of everything....reckon the Jury is still out for us both
  2. Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree.”
In the 21st century people- intelligent people- believe this drivel and, in some cases, even try to impose their beliefs on others.

  3. Money coming into the club should never be treated lightly, of course we can use all the money we can get. What we can do without is money gained by questionable means. I have no idea why this company wish to sponsor Saints and i have absolutely no idea where their money comes from. I would like them and the club to explain these points to us. And i am hoping that any investment in our club will be subject to scrutiny by the proper government authorities.

SMiSA own enough shares for a GM and have a board member how on earth do the committee of SMiSA not know this already?
  4. The values i subscribe to of Honesty and Openness, and principles of Democratic Member Control and Member Economic Participation preclude me from smisa board membership.

Shame you didnt add politeness and tolerance to your list....

...and the implication of your statement that "your values" noted above mean you cannot be a board member of SMISA as these values are found wanting in that organisation is frankly offensive unless you are prepared to be "open..." and "honest.." and actually say what you mean and so add "transparency" to your values....

.....but i suspect you are more likely to add hipocracy to your values than prove any of your self proclaimed ones noted above..

    Yours in Love

  5. Could you please post a link to the evidence or at least suggest what, aside from his name, we should be searching for? I had a wee look earlier and couldn't see anything to be concerned about aside from him knocking down Dr Dre's old house.

Following today's announcement of Skyview Capital (sounds like the sports direct equivalent of investment firms) becoming not just a sponsor, but a "partner" in the club. Does the thought of a a US private investment company getting their feet under the table trouble any other smisa members or fans?
look at the clusterf**k that befell  Dundee amongst others.
edit: sadly and for reasons best known to himself The site owner has moved this thread to the Smisa section where it obviously doesnt belong, and changed the actual title from "US private investment firm moves in on Smfc"  to something suggesting a takeover which I certainly did not write.
Skyview Capital was founded by Alex Soltani who is the current CEO. All relevant information is on the web for those who desire to know more about where the money is coming from.

I believe this is what is being refered to:

He has just admitted that the FCA responded to him that they won't be investigating this because this is not how they operate.

They have re-directed him to Supporters Direct.

How embarassing for him. You'd have thought he would have taken the time to check how the FCA works before making grand announcements about putting SMISA to the sword via a complaint.

I could have told him that,,,,

    A few wee questions....

How do these things generally work?

Does the clause only apply to the club that bought the player in the first instance (in terms of McGinn, that would obviously be Hibs)? So we would receive an agreed percentage of what Hibs get as a fee should they sell him?

Are there any circumstances whereby the clause follows the player as he moves to other clubs on throughout his career? Would that be enforceable (so to speak)?

Finally, I take we would get hee haw if no fee is applicable - ie: if the player's contract has expired when he moves on?

    Ta much.

No set way, you can pretty much contract whatever you want, though there are some set rules for young and homw grown players.

The other thing you can also do is Sell your sell on clause, so say St Mirren wanted to raise money now, they could sell McGinns clause back to hibs for an advance on the cash that would be due at a sale

Second of our loanee strikers to move upwards during this window - have they been misused this season or are they as poor as many have suggested?

I know it will meet with strong disagreement, but he was the one player, when i saw him play that actually seemed to egg on his team mates and get stroppy with them for poor play, he played the Gowser role of moaning at everyone, while everyone else Captain included seemed deathly quite, i suspect he will do very well with Jim D.

I read somewhere that we can only have one player over 21 in our loans. Is that right? Shanks is 22 in August. That would make Loy as our only over 21 loanee when he arrives.

IIRC that rule is correct for within country, you can "loan" (although it is actually a transfer, as many as you like over 21 from outside Scotland....happy to be corrected it was a few years ago now

I would be appalled and concerned if someone who seems to spout negativity at every turn, who seems to take perverse pleasure in winding up and alienating fellow fans and attempts to undermine key personnel within our club on a public forum was a SMISA Board member.

    Not good if true.

I assumed that the SMISA elections, since they achieved the first stage in their shareholding aim, were of the same form as others i have been involved in, in that all those standing for election had to declare the names of any social media alias that they had, it would appear that this is not the case.

  11. Sorry you are right, it was the fans you wanted to saddle with the debt. Who would eventually own the club.

And that is no different to now. Smisa have a contract to pay GS. That is a debt.

And when paid after 10years they will own the Club.

Other than the price paid and the membership fee being £12 rather than £10 is the same system.

"There is nothing new under the sun"
  12. Again with the delusion...
aye I am sure all those ill-conceived, failed bids where you dissapeared for months on end, and attempted to saddle the club with a huge debt must surely have paved the way for smisa and its members. It certainly convinced me we needed to take the club into fan ownership in case another cockamamie attempt succeeded!

I dont mind that much that you try to be an online "big man" and that your default setting seems to just to abuse those you disagree with but lies is a different thing as you very well know just like the SMISA bid the Club under any fanownership scheme would be saddled with ZERO debt.

But glad nonetheless that your were finally convince FO is a good idea...though not quite sure you yet grasp some of the finer points of Buliding a Community outwith the lifelong fan
  13. And I think you are a shit stirrer who would be happy to see smisa fail so you could say i told you so. Jealously is a terrible trait.

    Again with the deflection.

SMISA has already succeeded it has 25%plus ownership and a contract for more and did at a cheaper offer than me.

There is nothing to be jealous of.

It has succeded and i am happy to have helped it along the way.
  14. I dont think anyone could ever accuse you of being a st mirren fan.

Nice deflection but a deflection nonetheless.

I think you would serve the Club as a Director of its largest group shareholder by accepting you are part of the collectively responsible, and act to encourage a team and manager that are struggling rather than being all....i told you so...about it.
