Well done Sir and it's an expensive hobby also.

Still collect now although I usually buy a couple if it is a special match or a match not like a run of the mill league one. Like Spartans, New Saints, East Kilbride.

That's why I was disappointed there was no Programme issued for our first ever game against a Colts Team last Saturday.

    An opportunity missed.

I managed to get a Teamsheet , but that's not the same.

Hopefully, we will be able to purchase a St Mirren Title Winning Programme this Season, home or away.

Yeah, picked up a team sheet myself on Saturday, not normally too bothered about them, but as you say, needed something for the game.

    Ye beauty !!!

Been trying to get the Raith v Saints Programme from 1987 Scottish Cup for a couple of decades.

Won a copy on Ebay this morning.

    That was the missing one.

    Over the moon now.

    Good stuff.

    Got all of them.

Best part of my collection is having every cup semi final and final since  the 1955 League Cup.

Also got complete home and away for the championship seasons and every ASC and European programme.

Oh! and a very understanding wife!!!

  3. Lewis playing well.
Two occasions the greedy wee knob in centre mid should have played him through, but cut inside and lost the ball.

Dominic Thomas from Killie. Looks like he thinks he's a world beater! Greedy bassa. Simple pad and he would have created several chances.

Away from the game. Nice to see the stewards moving in to stop all the wee boys kicking our ground to pieces........not!
  4. SCOTTISH Challenge Cup

Featuring WELSH, IRISH and NORTHERN IRISH clubs and two second round matches played in ENGLAND!

    Truly an international competition.

Interesting to note that Dumbarton, one of the oldest clubs in Scotland, today played their very first competitive match against a non Scottish Club.
TBH I had not really thought about Saints v 'foreign' opposition. The late seventies/early eighties spoiled us with the ASC and Europe.

5 home wins in a row. Any guesses as to the previous time we managed that?

    1993/94!
    Managed seven on the trot.

    13/11/1993 – Clydebank League 1-0
    30/11/1993 – Hamilton League 1-0
    03/01/1994 – Falkirk League 3-1
    11/01/1994 – Airdrie League 3-0
    18/01/1994 – Morton League 5-1
    25/01/1994 – Ayr United League 3-1
    29/01/1994 – Montrose Scottish Cup 2-0

  6. Have you been at every home game since 67 * or have you aquired the ones you missed?
    *That would be very impressive.

    Wasn't even born in 1967!
Started going in 78 and only missed a handful of games since.
My great grandfather used to give me his progs from the early 70s. Best thing about my Tuesday visits as a youngster! That's what got me interested in them.
A few years ago I was given the chance to get a full set from the championship season in 67-68. Just decided to fill in the missing few seasons and it went from there!
  7. Some thoughts...O'Keefe was excellent, full of pace and trickery and is two footed.
Hilson and Todd will be decent squad players when fully fit,
The right back, Morrison was good defensively and better going forward, full of running and a few decent crosses.
A much better 2nd half performance against a very experienced Kilmarnock side.

With Morgan away on international duty I'd start O'Keefe on the left on Saturday.
Good touch. Good pace. And two good feet.

I have been buying a Programme since 1968 and not once has the official Team line up been listed.

I still enjoy flicking through one and would hate to see them discontinued.

We are a professional Football Club and Match Programmes should be produced, even just as a matter of record and history and for every First Team Match.

A Four Pager at 50p or a £1 would be ideal for the Hearts game.

    Gotta agree here.

I have every home programme since 1967 plus several hundred aways.

if that makes me sad....I'm happy!! :D

I'm struggling to remember this 4-0 game. I must've been there. I presume the 4-2 Celtic game you refer to was the Scanlon wondergoal game?

Remember nothing about this Utd game and a 4-0 pumping is pretty memorable.

Yeah the 4-2 game was the Scanlon one.

The United game was postponed a couple of times. Think it was due to be played a month earlier or something.

If I remember we were 2-0 up at half time, the Clarke 'goal' was a cracker, but the half time whistle went just as it crossed the line!!

  10. one of my first and best away games was(a think)4-1 buds tannadice,Keith walker,Paul Chalmers scored,a think George shaw,in the 80's,can't remember much more, also a game at love street and Stevie Clarke scored a screamer but ref blew whistle for half time when ball was flying into Dundee utd net, anyone else got more details,ta

Was the Stevie Clarke 'goal' not in the 4-0 game. December 83?
