Forgive me for paraphrasing somewhat.
He is talking about Saints...not County.
-
I love when we win the other team is shit...............................
Who said that?
-
Stef was the keeper. Enough said. Haha
-
He will need to find a club daft enough to pay money for him before he can move south.
I'm fairly confident McGinn will be at St Mirren next season. I wouldn't be averse to giving him the captaincy actually, might help him recapture his form from last season.
In order to get compensation from another club does McGinn not have to be offered an improved contract by Saints and turn it down?
-
Ah so it was just your opinion. I gave you the 84% figure.
Which was apparently on Twitter in March.
Where are you getting the "vast vast majority" wanted him gone in the summer?
-
By all means quote me saying I wanted relegation on Danny Lennon's CV.
Also, source for the majority saying they wanted him to get a 1 year deal?
You want a source for me saying "I think the majority wanted a new 1 year deal for Lennon in the summer"? It's just how I remember the talk being on the threads at the time.
I'd love a source from yourself on the "vast vast majority" wanting him let go in the summer though.
-
Of course you're paraphrasing me at best there. I said it would be best for the club for us not to make a change with so little time to go, and if we were to go down it wouldn't be fair for a new manager to take the hit for it.
What's your source for a majority favouring a new 1 year deal for Lennon?
No no, I'm quite sure that was a quote...you wanted relegation "on his CV".
At the risk of quoting you again, "read the threads if you like".
-
Oh yeah...that was when you wanted relegation on Lennon's CV and not someone else to take us down was it not?Well you can read the threads if you like. I believe 84% of those fans polled on twitter in March wanted him sacked immediately after the St Johnstone game. I was one of the 16%, incidentally.
We then finished 8th. Safe with 4 games to go. And the "vast vast majority" did not want him gone in the summer.
In fact, I think the majority favoured a new 1 year deal for Lennon.
-
Of course that's more to do with subsequent events. Wouldn't say every player either, Kenny McLeans best form came under Craig and Teale, for example.
The reality of the matter is the vast vast majority of fans wanted him gone in the summer. Indeed the majority wanted him gone in March after we lost at home to St Johnstone infront of less than 3000 people.
"Vast vast majority" I don't think so.

Just wondering why I haven't had an invite for this week? I played the last game at the Pitz, I know there were 20 guys so 4 had to drop out, when I didn't get an invite the next week I guessed I'd been in the last 4 to get a call so had to go back into the queue. But 3 people rejected invites, so I figured I was next in line this week. Seems fair? But now there's been 4 more call offs this week and still no invite? I know it's probably just an oversight, but I waited a wee while to get back in the last time. Was looking forward to a game.
Game at the pitz was a totally separate list to the game at the dome.

So your point is that even though Danny messed up in his fourth season in charge, you think he would have got it right for his fifth?
Danny messed up in his first window in the job. The summer of Beath, and then Lynch and Hegarty and McCluskey etc etc. Fair enough, new manager cut him some slack, and I think most did.
For him to have had an equally if not worse summer four years later... That cost him his job. And rightly so.
It's no wonder no full time team looked at him since then, despite him trying for jobs from Dingwall to Dumfries and everywhere in between.
Hahaha keep going. Are you trying to convince others or yourself of this tale?
The club has plummeted since he left and every player has regressed since he left.
-
Very strange. Something clearly happened behind the scenes.
-
OK quickly cobbled together those disasters.......as I said there's plenty making mistakes throughout, but in almost all of the last 8 goals Goodwin just looks completely lost and out of his league. I don't think 'enjoy' is the word but here it is....horrible viewing
You could do the same with any of the back 4 and midfield. Every single one of them.
An embarrassment.
-
Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn.
-
Well that was onside. Should be 1 down.
-
He admits that they've got it wrong this year, however he points out that they didn't intentionally get it wrong.
That's the very least I'd expect him to say.
-
Weren't we going to finish higher than 8th under Tommy Craig this season?
I'm not panicking, are you?
We've got this, trust me. We will not finish lower than 8th.
Mark it down, bookmark it, write me and this team off. I invite it and welcome it.
-
The reason Danny is at shite like Alloa is simple.
He f**ked us right up, and we continue to pay the price.
Harkins, Grainger, Bahoken... And I could certainly go on. Give me a break.
Remember the dark days of the Lennon era...top league status, scoring goals, clean sheets, Home wins, 8th place finishes, a national trophy. f**ked us right up indeed.
But thanks to Stewart, Tommy and fans like TopCat who helped show him the door, it'll be years before we suffer that again. Gone are the dark days, hallelujah.
-
Great result for the assistant manager pulling the strings...or is it the senior players picking the team?
Danny only does media interviews remember.
-
And that he would rather be in our position than County or Motherwell.Where's Top Cat to tell us not to worry, it's all right?
He also guaranteed an 8th place finish at worst.
-
I thought McAusland and Genev were picking up the two strikers. McManus is a defender.
If One of our centre halfs has been assigned Scott McDonald as his man at set pieces then Teale and Longwell should be sacked immediately.
-
And Goodwin just watched as it sailed over his head. He and Geneva were also spectators at the first goal.
Yes...but McAuland is 5 yards off of his man. That is farcical at any level.
-
He's bad, but no worse than the other defenders.
The header McManus missed. McAusland is literally 5 yards off of him at least.
-
Well...this should be well attended.
Summer Football Debate
in General St. Mirren Discussion
Posted
Summer football, no thanks. Certainly not Saturday 3pm kick offs. Maybe if we were to play matches as midweek 7.45 kick offs.
My preference would be to have more games played between July-October, and March-May. Let us have a winter break and minimal matches during November, December January.
