Mvoto was a real worry for us, won almost every header each time he went up for a dead ball situation.

Pleased to see we doubled up, albeit late in the game, on him.

    Kids, don't drink................^^^^^^^^^^

:D Another game you clearly did not go to. Do you just quote pundits as you find it difficult to think for yourself!! :byebye

    Shows what you know.

He's young and has a way to go but, as I pointed out earlier before the buffoon above jumped in, he's a prospect and, as you say, should be seen as a player we could rely on in the years to come.

Thanks for backtracking knowing you look like a numpty. You said he was inconsistent when almost everyone who has watched him realises he has been the most consistent player in the team this season.

You clearly do not go to many games despite having over 27,000 posts on here!! :byebye

As good as Baird was, in my humble opinion, over the 90 minutes, I thought McGinn was our most consistent player.

We really are learning how to see games out.

He had a great game but when it was backs to the wall in the final minutes Jack threw himself at everything and of course scores the winner. Outstanding.!!

The spine of the team is so important and in Baird, McGinn and Reilly we have the best in the league. :D

    Feck off, I'm celebrating.

    League champions. :clapping

If in doubt completely change the subject and be abusive, another of you're sad traits! Baird being praised big time on here and you realise you are a numpty!

Enjoy celebrating..... no doubt on your own!!:byebye

There's certain games in the season that are drfining, this was one of them.

Yes, JUST another 3 points but surely see's off Dunfermline, puts real pressure on Dundee United and we're assured of a play off spot at the very worst, although we really need to collapse to not win the league from here.

So pleased for Baird, a young man who, while inconsistent, IMO,  can become a rock for our defence in the years to come.

    Brilliant result. :clapping

Shows what you know about football. Baird has been the most consistent player all season and was the man of the match tonight by a mile. Lets hope all the Baird doubters now realise they got it wrong. He is a star and not yet 22!!!

We are miles better than anyone in this league. Fantasic performace, fantastic first goal and variations in free kicks and bringing on McKenzie shows we have a management team that just get better and better.

League champions without a doubt!! :clapping

Your right its much worse! If you take on the responsibility and make the tackle but it doesnt work out.. you can learn from it.

if you dont take on any responsibility by getting involved you are a wage thief!

While the game was littered by individual errors and some of our top performers were not at their best, to suggest anyone who plays for this St Mirren team just now is a wage thief makes you look a very very silly man indeed! :D

Wrong diagnosis mate however our midfield is the weak spot its where we get pushed over too often. We need a ball winner, hard tackle Hill could be that man for me it' the only thing we are missing.

Another one thinking a 19 year old player who you have never seen play and had 14 minutes today is the man for you!!! Really don't get it!

Maybe we need to agree to disagree.
Eckersley instead of Stelios, a home game, a ref with balls..... I think we could beat them. And they're supposedly the 2nd best team in the country.

Yeah lets! They were miles ahead in every department, and no they are not great. Lucky to get out of there just 4-1

  9. 1 minute ago, ScotstounSaint said:

No, they were better than us. They didn't make disasterous decisions like Stelios did. Their keeper didn't jump into the net.
Their midfielders did better than us, controlling the ball in 2 touches instead of our 3 ;-)
They should have been down to 10 men. Would it have allowed us to get back into the game? Probably not, but it would have helped.

Your first 6 words are enough. No excuses, certainly not the pitch or ref!!!

Where did I say McGinn should be replaced by Hill ? What I said was I had a feeling that Mark Hill is a player and that if McGinn's form shades like it did a while back then Jack Ross will play him . Thats a bit different from saying McGinn should be replaced by Hill.

Brendan Rodgers hasn't sent Mark Hill to SMFC to watch us. He's sent him to play here as he rates Jack Ross as a coach and trusts his player with him. Same as Derek McInnes at Aberdeen. Rodgers has also given Mark Hill a 3 year deal so he is no diddy !

Lets be honest you have never seen Mark Hill play have you? So you just make assumptions based on him being a celtic player,

  11. 3 minutes ago, ScotstounSaint said:

I said it was a factor, not the main reason. I think it was a factor as to why our players needed 3 touches to control the ball and why we were so shite in the 2nd half.

Other factors include Stelios, Samson and the ref not sending someone off for a studs up foul when already booked.

I'm pretty sure we would have done a lot better if the game had been in Paisley, but we'll never know.

OK so it was the pitch and the ref. !! Not that we were beaten by a team who have much more quality than we do.

Not talking about taking McGinn out the team in the Championship. In the Premiership yes as I don't think he's good enough. I think Magennis will replace McShane though in midfield over the next few weeks with Flynn on the right. I also think this young guy from Celtic Mark Hill is a player and if McGinn's form shades like it did a month back then Jack will play him.

So McGinn who has been outstanding for most of the season should be replaced in the championship by a 19 year old you have seen for 14 minutes!!!!

    rubbish!!

The pitch was a disgrace, but if you think players that are used to a pristine pitch are not disadvantaged by being asked to play in a field, fair enough.

If you think the pitch was anything to do with Stelios not staying on his feet and giving away a stupid penalty then fine. If you think the pitch contributed to McShane and McGinn jogging back for the second goal then fine and if you think the pitch was to blame for Stelios terrible header then fine.

We were well beaten. The pitch was not the reason.

A lot of doom and gloom on here and I can understand the frustration.

For me. The first half was really quite even. The defence on both sides was poor and they capitalised  on it while we didn't. Morgan was unlucky with the lob over their keeper.

Second half was a total non event after the 4th went in. Aberdeen controlled that phase.

What I would say was that, even though we definitely  didn't play well and Stelios had an absolute shocker, I don't think we'll need too much extra to compete in the top league should we get over the finish line.

What would make you say that!! two full backs had a nightmare. Magennis didn't kick a ball and neither did Morgan. McShane and McGinn didnt look good enough at that level. Lets you know where we are and that is miles and miles away from being a top 6 SPL team.

Reality check at the right time and lets get back to the more important business of Dunfermline on Friday. Would take a point.

Not even 13 posts a year, oh dear. and still aiming at other people for a considerable amount of them?

Why are you even here?

Run along, no one cares who the feck you are. :byebye

Anyhow, just spoke to an Aberdeen supporting mate, he's aware we could well spring a "shock" tomorrow.

Some have mentioned they haven't played a serious game for a wee while, we are on the crest of a winning wave.

The bookies are getting hammered tomorrow, well, me and Munoz anyway.

I have a life. Was that post to pretend you have a mate!! :D

As long as the same number or more people keep paying as much to watch football on tv and devices really.

I suppose you are both right and many average footballers and even worse managers have become multi millionaires on the back of it.

Norwich are paying Naismith £50k per week and he can't get back into their team, I don't think it would be a hard choice choosing between Norwich or Rangers (who couldn't afford to buy Jamie Walker and can't match Accies price for Greg Docherty).

If true this means a player who can not get a game for a mid table Championship team and is well past his best is on £2.6 million pounds a year!! St Mirrens TOTAL wage bill on last set of accounts was about £1.3 million I think. One average player in the Championship earns double the money of the whole St Mirren squad. Quite unbelievable!!!

Surely if this is true the bubble has got to burst in England sooner rather than later!!
