It's not the same deal, it's better than the original deal.

We spend £300K less, get control in half the time, and get to benefit from the experience and infrastructure of a 140 year old business that has a turnover of £30m a year!

I can't see why anyone would be against it but each individual will need to weigh up the facts as presented to them.

If you decide it's not for you that is entirely your right.

So, what are SMiSA selling?  Shares they don't own?  How much are SMiSA getting for these shares that they don't own.  Will it be enough to cover the cost of GLS's remaining shares and buy a controlling interest in SMFC immediately?  HMM, sell some of GLS's shares to Kibble and use that money to buy the rest of GLS's shares.  Totally genius.

Could turn that into a valid question though that Smisa maybe should/could be asking for a higher percentage of shares an alternative so split is more 80/20 for example giving less leverage if overwhelming concern for the current one. Loads of questions, possibilities and clarification required.

I highly doubt the Kibble would come in and start replacing experienced staff members with kids.

They are giving these kids apprenticeships within the club in areas such as catering, hospitality, maintenance etc. That would ultimately mean these kids would work with and learn off the current staff members.

Hope so otherwise it could be burnt shit pie, a pint with a large head, leaking taps and blocked urinals

There has not been one Tangible benefit for smfc or smisa put forward in the proposal.
But you can feel the glee in Kibble's statements... they think they've found a feckin goldmine.
FYI.... thus is how it should be done.. In The Community, By the Community, for The Community.
Shouldn't Smisa and the club be building this?

I would question whether we have the experience and knowledge as to how to do so more effectively but the answer is yes we should be. If an organisation in partnership is better placed to do some or all of this then it is worth looking into. In theory a partnership could fast forward a lot this stuff. We are slow at moving a lot of things forward but again have no idea of costs, current internal structure in this area, who is involved in the community trust and what should be done to improve it. Maybe you can shed some light and thoughts?

they get to do what they want by blocking everything else until they get their way.  You understand this.

I have personal experience of working in this kind of model when i worked for a national seat of learning.  The committee model of governance they employed meant that as a business group manager EVERY decision that i made could be called in for scrutiny and could be overturned by board members of the many charities, trusts and companies that were squirreled away within the woodwork of the institution and when I left I vowed never to work in any so-called charitable organisation again.

You are right that a lot of charities have questionable infrastructures and most of the experiences I have had with charities are poor. There can be a lot of internal issues as there are with a lot of them but I don't know Kibble's set up. If any internal stuff can be kept within Kibble and has no impact on our day to day then great but would like to see us proceed with caution for 5 years or so to make sure it is the positives that are brought to the table and without any potential negatives.

They should have an opinion and vote on matters but if it is detrimental to the club then we should be able to review. A cost analysis as well as projected income from this type of venture along with possible pro's and con's should be established. LPM is right to point out some of our failings with regards to community trust although I have no idea of the figures involved. Does what Kibble get outweigh what we expect to get or vice versa?

I think that's it, what exactly do the club get from this ?

I've read we will get the benefits of Kibbles vast experience. What experience do they have in running a football club ?

None, but would expect them to be able to add value to certain business elements of running a football club and at least would be expecting an improvement on marketing, PR and comms. If they can enhance, improve, reduce costs, streamline in other areas then fantastic.

  7. Taking the proposal at face value I see it as a positive.

I would welcome potential improvement to the current infrastructure and guidance/assistance in certain areas which we are currently pretty shit at.

I understand fan concern but doubt that that Kibble as a charity will be looking to ruffle feathers.

To make this easier and more comfortable for some fans then why not include an option to buy Kibbles shares if things (unexpectedly) don't pan out. They can have a 5 year trial period so no different to what we have with GS and if it becomes unviable and detrimental to the club then so be it If it we purchase their shares. If things are going well then let's keep it going and Smisa have additional funds in the pot which would give the club better financial stability.

Could even include a review to purchase Kibble shares every 5 years for example but would imagine this wouldn't be required.

If Kibble are in it for the right reasons, which I am pretty sure they are then I can't see why they would object to the above. Could be a win/win rather than draw/lost/lost/draw/lost/win/lost again.

    200k for Paul McGinn 😂😂

Yeah tell them to add another 0 and we will think about it.

We are pretty shit at selling players though so it will be £50k. A third of what we paid for Heaton.

We definitely need a better strategy with regards to player management, retention and recruitment. I presume Flynn is out of contract at end of season based on a couple of comments. He is the type of player we should be looking to keep and extending his contract if we can due to performances and versatility. P McGinn, Flynn, Foley and possibly McGrath (if he continues the way he has started) should be core members of our squad and a team built around them.  They are the hardworking consistent performers who give their all. Magennis would be in that category also although form hasn't been as good this season and the injury is a nightmare. MacPherson also plays with his heart and has done well since coming back into the squad.

I believe Jim will be more ruthless once he has got his core members of a squad as long as he isn't hampered by those either beside them or above him.

You really ARE a thick turd, aren't you?

THAT was precisely the point my post was making about my current state - and you doubtless thought your simplistic retort was "witty" and "sarcastic" rather than just stupid.

It's alright Antrin. He is know as clitoris in Arbroath as everyone thinks he is a bit of a fanny where as he is just known as cnut on here. Stick his emojis on ignore and the forum improves dramatically. Only a matter of time before he gets smoked again anyway. If Carlsberg made antagonistic arseholes etc.

I am informed by a very reliable source that the following players are on the list of Jim Goodwin's January targets and I believe that at least 2 of the players will 100% be signing for St Mirren in January.

    Yaw Osei (Forward)

    Evan Markogiannakis (Goalkeeper)

    Michael Nottingham (Defender)

    Léger Djimrangar (Midfielder)

Yeah my 'very reliable source' says we aren't. He said we are signing JimmyLim Wongalongadong and Chewbacca.

  11. I think Kyle has been unlucky this season so far. He has had a number of efforts of posts and crossbar. Just needed a few of them to go in. In my opinion on his day he is the best player we currently have at the club and should be doing everything to try and keep him just now. Hopefully he hits a J McGinn run of luck/form if played in a similar position with a bit more freedom and then we could be looking at a healthy transfer fee in the future.

A tacky plastic smelly seat at the piggery . . .

Left school a long long time ago - son though is a fitness and positive mind coach . . . he's good . . .

Obviously a bit too good and needs to tone it down to realistic levels. Some people like Elvis expect the worst and are not often disappointed but when the unexpected happens I am sure he is the first person away to the bathroom for a bit of alone time.
