  1. After 5 years of waiting for developments a few more days won't really hurt. Yes the timing is lousy but at the end of the day if these new owners are serious then they will have players lined up to come in as soon as they are in control so as long as it's done before the end of the month it won't matter too much.

A few more days might not make any difference, but like the vast majority of people on here, the prospect of this Argentinian takeover fills me with considerable dread.

This nightmare scenario is only on the cards because the selling consortium is now so desperate for a sale after 5 barren years of trying to attract a buyer.

I accept that there is a very slight chance that this takeover might work out ok (contrary to most people's expectations), but I very much doubt it.

This is an unacceptable risk that the selling consortium is contemplating and the total lack of (official) information does not help!

  2. That would be Maxime Blanchard who played in the bounce game and has been without a club since May. Apparently he was told to mark Marc McAusland, who he was playing alongside, and thought everyone was winding him up.

If we are looking at Maxime Blanchard with a view to signing him, this might not be a bad signing based on his website:- www.maximeblanchard.com

Have a look at his video section and make up your own mind - he certainly looks good enough to bolster our defence in its present state!

  3. We are doomed based on the indications from GT that we are currently looking at 2 or 3 signings up front and in midfield.

No mention of shoring up the only defence in all the senior leagues in the UK without a clean sheet to its name after 5 months into the season. However I'll give Gary the benefit of the doubt and maybe he just forgot to mention a CB was also a priority in the transfer window.

  4. Jim Goodwin has had a lot of stick recently (and quite rightly so) but today with the bobbin screwed on tightly he was a class act. If only he could perform to that level every week (and remember most fans think midfield is his best position). Naismith and Kelly played to a good level but I felt they were giving the Dons' wide men too much room to cross and this contributed to the 2 goals today. Were they playing to tactics laid down? This seems to be a common weakness in our defence, week in week out. Tess looked solid in central defence - it was only his distribution that let him down. Ridgers would be the first to admit his liability at the first goal but I think overall he has done well since he came into the first team. Our midfield competed well against a strong and talented Dons midfield. However Mallon and McLear are a work in progress and we should not expect too much too soon. I thought Osbourne was our best performer in midfield with the classy McGinn slightly off the boil at the moment. McLean did his best but he is not a striker and we miss him in midfield. Although Wylde possibly felt he had something to prove today - he failed to do so - probably because he is not properly match fit.

So as I said in an earlier post - with 3 or 4 good signings in the January transfer window (and with Thommo back and fit), we could still avoid the drop.

  5. It'll take a lot more than the support of a couple of hundred stay away supporters to turn things round. Too often, clubs rely on the blind faith and loyalty of their supporters, and I think they become lazy and complacent as a result. The shambles St Mirren are just now has nothing whatsoever to do with the supporters.

I didn't go today because I couldn't be arsed, and I couldn't give a flying f**k what anyone thinks about that.

Atterndance today was 4977 of which there were 1964 Aberdeen fans. However it was a bit like being at an England -v- Scotland game at Wembley where the home support were completely out-done by the visiting support. I can understand why the 3013 Saints fans today were outshone by the Dons support - it's not just the players that are lacking confidence and a positive attitude.

But we do have the nucleus of a decent team and 3 or 4 good signings in the transfer window could make a big difference. if that happens, the backing of the Saints fans WILL make a difference in our fight to beat the drop.

Teale and his team deserve our support - wish i could say the same for the BoD.
