StanleySaint reacted to spankin_panda in Falkirk v St Mirren, Sat 1st AugEating my words on McLeish for today at least. For every call right. Went long when we had to which was the thing I felt was missing prior.
Nsio was fantastic - good signing. KP done good too, however, Jake Young coming on today wasn’t in my bingo book lol, for some reason thought he was likely to exit.
Well done team and manager today. I genuienly hope I’m constantly eating humble pie.

StanleySaint got a reaction from faraway saint in World Cup 2026Yeah but it seems there is pressure for the next incumbent to be honest European so we'll just have to wait and see how it goes

StanleySaint got a reaction from faraway saint in World Cup 2026FIFA hierarchy now claiming they were mislead, if he goes chair of CONCACAF or Asian Federation appear to be most likely replacements.

StanleySaint reacted to Bud the Baker in Telly ProgrammesAll Sit no Com.
There was only one joke which was repeated every coupla minutes - Linda saying something inappropriate like "I can see your mons pubis". Shame as I usually like Diane Morgan.
Best sitCOM so far this year is Small Prophets which is still on BBC iPlayer.

StanleySaint reacted to Geordie Saint in Farewell Special KMy all time hero. Has provided some of my best memories in the game. He was twice European footballer of the year, been an international superstar but he signed for MY club. 2nd division Newcastle who had struggled for years since relegation and showed no hopes of improvement. Playing in a half finished ground when money to rebuild had ran out. The stuff of dreams and his winning debut and goal v QPR in 1982 still one the best days of my life.
My daughter and I were lucky to meet him at his Breahead place when we stopped off on the way to a saints game. I wore a retro 80s nufc top and who seemed like a random woman came and introduced us to the place. When we got talking she revealed she was Mrs Jean Keegan and promptly brought the great man over.
Fantastic! He spoke about all sorts of things. How he remembered wearing that kit and asked if I could remember a silver away version which he said they found it hard to see each other in. He told us how he had been unhappy in his latter days at Man City, saying he had one or two awkward players.
Onto the taking part in the course he had at Braehead. There I was trying to boot balls in the direction of some upright figures when a voice appeared from behind me. "Go on Geordie. Get your foot under the ball". My hero coaching me which only made me worse as lost any composure I had. A great experience and he signed my shirt before we left. Still treasure that shirt all these years later.
Love the man. Thanks for the memories King Kev 💔

StanleySaint reacted to faraway saint in MotorhomeSlight change of plan, only got as far as Carnoustie as a mate and his wife were down there so we spent an hour with them in the van.
After they left we walked along the beach for almost an hour, stunning day albeit as wee bit breezy.
Had a bite to eat, roll and bacon & egg, cup of tea and then attempted to build the bed.
It didn't go well, although I'm more in favour of using the bed above the drivers area, Mrs Faraway not so much.
Anyhow, another day, learnt a few more things.

StanleySaint reacted to faraway saint in MotorhomeWell tomorrow is looking like St Andrews.
The first weekend away will be a test, sure as fate we'll forget something but, as I said, every trip is a learning process.
This years all about finding our feet, next year we'll stretch our wings, more so as I'll have retired and we can go anytime we want.
What size is your driveway?

StanleySaint reacted to faraway saint in MotorhomeWell, had the van hooked up to a charger since just before lunch time and nipped out about 4 as the rain came on quite heavy and, hey presto, she roared into life.
That's good, all being well we'll head down to Monifieth tomorrow with the dogs, have a bite to eat, take the dogs a walk and see if the Firestick works from Mrs Faraways phone.
Every wee trip is another step in the learning process.
The company we bought it from are coming to pick it up on Thursday to remove the old cooker and reinstall a new one.
