  1. We sacked the previous manager despite him twice getting us out of the First Division, established in the SPL, getting us to our highest league finish in 2 decades, first cup final in 23 years, first Scottish Cup Semi Final in 22 years, first wins over Rangers & Celtic in 2 decades, biggest win over Celtic in over 100 years, etc, etc...

and all from a starting position of a third successive battle against relegation to the Second Division, £3 million debt, no training facilities and a shit youth system.

The hypocritical Gus hating knicker wetters set the criteria.

Based on that criteria then Danny Lennon can certainly be sacked.

I've seen posts from you under your previous names calling for Gus's head.

    You're boring mate

Read the question you ended the original Post with

Would you still want him gone? If so why?

It's just another needless thread about Danny Lennon staying or going. Why not start a thread about the teams performance against a Hibs team or how well they played with 10 men for the last 61 mins. Get lots of positive responses, by asking if you would keep Danny or Sack him we are just going to go through the motions of the endless threads that are currently running. The Danny lovers will be on board with you, the Danny haters will again post the same stuff they have been posting for years.

    Away and pish.

  2. You've only been watching St Mirren for a few years if you think Dargo is the worst ever Saints striker.

For example, Alex Bone, Dennis Wyness, Kevin Twaddle, Rory Loy, Lewis Guy, Scott McLean, Paul McQuade, Gerry Creaney, Robert Dunn, Eddie Annand, Christopher Wreh, Tom Brighton, Alex Burke, Jens Paeslack & Michael Renfurm were miles worse.

Dargo scored once or twice a season and played most games from the start when he wasn't injured. Pish

  3. Goodwin was a bottom six player at his peak, he's now a liability, didn't even get into our starting line-up today - there's ten other clubs that have players who do the same job as least as well.

While I'm not going to argue Dargo was a success he was certainly not the worst striker we've ever had.

    I disagree

  4. Billy Mehmet.

    Jim Goodwin

    Stewart Kean

    David Barron

St.Mirren fans have a long history of disliking talented players because they don't run around like headless chickens.

Goodwin is a player every club in the league would welcome into their team just so they can avoid playing against him.

I do however agree with the rest and would like to add dargo to that group. The worst striker we've ever had and one of the most loved

  5. In my opinion, changing management now would not increase our chances of staying up.

Danny Lennon is not the right manager for the club and he hasn't been since 2011 in my opinion, but it's too late to sack him this season.

If we do go down I want it on his CV, I don't want a patsy coming in and taking the hit for him.

Hasn't been the right manager since 2011 when he gave us our two most successful seasons in decades? Aye sound.....

You want it on HIS cv?

You sound like a wee prick with a chip on his shoulder.

Maybe now it is time for a change, you can't however claim he hasn't been a good manager in the last 2 seasons

  6. Mate, I'm genuinely not having a go here but I think you're missing the point some are trying to make. I said earlier in this thread that myself and four mates used to go every week homes and away and have trawled all over watching us get pumped by part time outfits and flirt with the old 2nd Division but the majority of us ( my mates, that is) are just fed up watching us play like this and it's been going on too long so we've started being selective about our away games. How long until I don't buy a season ticket and start choosing homes games? I don't know the answer to that but I would never have thought I'd have stopped going to away games a couple of seasons ago so who knows?

You're right. We're only 2 points off 8th but we're just not good to watch and I just don't see us finishing any higher than 10th to be honest. If we don't get some results soon then we're looking at needing a big result post split and I think we've been to that well too many times since we came back up. One of these years we'll likely come up short.

Good? Bad? It's all subjective but I enjoy watching us less at the moment than I have in a long time and that's the key for me and probably a good few others.

    I do get it tho,

I completely understand what you're saying and I respect your opinion.

Current form is not good. I agree. Is it enough to fire the manager? For me, no it's not.

With the players we have now we will win games. I expect a 7th or 8th place finish and I worry if we change management we will not get that

  7. We're also 2 points off 11th, appear to be in freefall, have recently lost points to hearts, Kilmarnock, thistle and have a manager who has clearly lost his way and appears like a broken man in interviews.

As I said I could well be wrong, all I'm seeing though is knicker wetting

  8. To the happy clappers that rejoice in Danny having a good season 3 years ago and winning the cup last season, when is 'enough is enough'?

If we lose to Ross County and Kilmarnock? If we hit 2nd bottom? When we're in the play offs? When we're in the 1st division?

Ok so we all accept finishing 8th was a good season?

We all accept winning the cup was a good season?

That's the previous two seasons been successful then?

I think enough will be enough if we have a bad season... At the moment we've strengthened and are 2 points off 8th

  9. That's simply not true. There have been a number of well constructed posts on why people are frustrated at the team's performances and who they feel is accountable.

Also, I'm absolutely certain that even the most anti-Lennon among us "gets behind the team" every time the go to watch them so that doesn't wash either.

It's a polarising argument and, whilst there has been a fair amount of pish spouted on both sides of it, each side is entitled to their opinions without the need to convince the other side to consider it.

Easy way to fix this. Win a few games. Lose the next two and the vitriol on here this week will seem like a work in the park unfortunately.

What is simply not true? That I personally haven't seen any intelligent reasons? I'm sorry but it is true, I haven't.

Instead of telling me I'm wrong why not tell me your reasons for wanting him sacked?

    Does ANYONE have ANY reason?

We can only start to debate once we have reason

  10. I've yet to see anyone make a rational or intelligent post about why he should be sacked.

We are not in a play off. We are 9th... 2 points off of 8th.... 8th being our highest ever spl finish.

Maybe if we all got behind the team and helped spur them on it would be a more positive use of our time?

I'm not stuck in my ways, if anyone has a well thought out and intelligent reason for wanting rid then I'll happily consider it.

  11. With all the stats against, all we ever get back is we won a cup and we were good in the league once 3 years ago. Doh.

My problem is the knifes have been out for almost 3 years. People were making the same claims with similar stats in his 2nd year in charge. We finished 8th.

Then last season obviously was hugely successful. That's the last two season been successful in my books and this one is far from finished.

Answer me this tho, if Danny takes us to 7th or 8th this year would you still want him gone?

  12. What are you on about? I am stating nothing other than facts. Am i not?

This Faraway chap pulls everyone up for missing out Caps, commas, full stops and anyones spelling errors. Now if thats not the worst guy ever, then ill never no.

As st mirren fans all we have is the occasional cup, maybe twice a lifetime. For you to completely disregard it because you don't like the manager makes you the worst guy out.

  13. Where in the piece you highlighted did i point out CELTIC? Ya :turtle.

Granted we did beat the :sheep on the way. What i was getting at was a Team with McInness as manager in the final, would we have won? Your answer i guess will have 2 letters, i repeat 2 letters just incase you get confused.

You've got to be the worst guy ever

  14. He's kept us up the last 3 years without much bother? We get you are a happy clapper but to say he has kept us up without much bother is a bit too far.

I think you're misremembering due to your hatred of our manager. What year exactly have we had problems staying up?

This is nothing more than a personal agenda,

Year 1 was the only year that was a bit of a struggle but that was mainly due to DL not having his own players and Gus's players being tied to contracts.

It was at this point people decided he wasn't good enough^

he changed our style of football and took us to our highest spl finish - people didn't want to admit they were wrong so they still called for his head.

he gave us our first cup in 25 years but people still wanted him gone.

And now we sit 9th but in these same peoples minds that means we are guaranteed relegation unless we get rid of him immediately.

The problem here isn't the manager.

    The problem is the internet.

No one has ever admitted to being wrong on the internet so we have a small percentage of the fans hoping he slips up so they can say "I told you so"

    It's pathetic really

  15. No I said that Lennon's record has been mixed but generally poor throughout his tenure - you're the one devising tenuous examples that have already been covered whilst changing your own opinion as to whether the seasons in question should be considered very successful or merely successful and omitting references to points you raise in your posts. It's hard work dealing with you............

I'm satisfied that what I posted makes sense - it's clearly you who's struggling with your grammar and English comprehension in general. I'm sure you no longer understand what you're on about...................:1eye

Looking forward to the next round.......................

    Hahahaha you're at it!

If I cared enough I'd go back and quote what you said but I can't be bothered and we both know really.
