ELO Greatest Hits - Turn To Stone

Saw them on their first farewell tour in '81. Townshend sprained his ankle early on while jumping about and had to spend a lot of the gig sat down on the drum raiser. Kenny Jones from the Small Faces was on drums. Musically the band were awesome! Daltrey has to be one of the strongest vocalists in Rock Music. Still one of my favourite gigs!

Why have you missed out Tom Waits? It's not like you to stop a rant ⅔'s of the way thru'. In the absynth of any logical reason for this premature termination of your omnidirectional and usually limitless bile I can only think of one thing to say, another catchphrase from a grumpy oldster - I don't belieeeeeeeeeeeve it!

Is the noise the sax makes not part of the tune? Anyway I was there back during the Punk Wars, not quite shoulder to shoulder with Bongo (as there was a lot of Phlegm in that particular vicinity), but rather I can claim to have been conscious at the time and I remember many punks using that song (Rat Trap) as an excuse to cast The Boomtown Rats into the musical Void.

Not just the sax - the lyrical content of the song echo the street romances of Springsteen & Waits. Go on have a google. "Rat Trap" + "Springsteen"
