Anyone know of Connolly is fit to play for United tonight ?
I hope so - every chance of him getting red carded against Durmus, Connolly or Brophy. -
Just noticed there’s a rerun of the whole match on BBC Alba at 10pm tonight.
I may watch, depending on the result and how fans thought we played.
Given another poor away performance on Sunday, I’ll not be buying Utds ppv, especially as we have so many home games coming up.
Id like to think JG will go 4-4-2 tonight and change the personnel in the middle of the park.
We need to be set up to win this match, not just to nullify them.
However, outside of the keeper and four defenders I have no idea who will start or the formation we’ll play.
No reason we can’t win 2-0, but suspect both side will cancel each other out with 0-0 a very likely outcome. -
2-0 United.
While I admire your consistent pessimism, our recent performances would tend to lend some credence to your prediction.
Personally, if JG sticks to the same defensive formation and line up, I think we’ll lose 1-0 - but only because Utd have problems hitting the net too. -
Hope JG changes the formation otherwise it’ll be a dull 0-0 draw or a familiar 1-0 defeat. Need a far more attacking formation.
Durmus to start and two up top. -
Indeed.
I've seen that type of performance so often this season, that I've got so used to it, that I've accepted it as the norm and just can't get too bothered about it.
Sorry, just because it’s becoming a familiar type of performance does not mean we should accept it.
The opposite.
We need to let it be know that we’re not happy about it and that it’s not acceptable.
Set up to be hard to beat with little or no plan to attack the opposition and score.
Brophy is not a lone striker. -
I agree with you what a ridiculous post.
Onto the game, I've got to say I'm glad Mrs CS shouted for dinner when it had gone 85 minns we could have been playing after livi had gone home and still struggled. God only knows what they are coaching these players but that was shocking, it's a cup semi final for christ sake. We made livi look good.
Disagree. I don’t think we made Livi look good. I think we were so poor, we made them look very ordinary.
That’s what’s so frustrating about today. We were set up to defend and had no idea how to respond when we went a goal down.
Been the same in recent weeks. Set up to not lose a goal, rather than have a go at opponents. I’d have preferred we went and had a go but lost 3-0 rather than set up to defend, not lay a glove on our opponents and lose 1-0. -
The message we gave to our players and theirs with the line up was that we were scared of them ,hasn't changed
Exactly. JG selection and formation squarely to blame for this defeat.
No doubt he had the players fearing Livi in the same way he has us prepared for matches against the OF.
At least there’s the 2nd half of Man U v LPool to cheer me up.
Will take the flags down later ... -
Much better in the 2nd half but overall didn’t do nearly enough in the final third to threaten Livi’s keeper and the correct result.
And so we move on. JG needs to work on us creating chances.

BBC pre match report
Nightmare for him, and us. I think he’d have been a good option from the bench today. And an unknown quantity.
Let’s hope he’s back soon.

Quaner out for 3 weeks. Typical
Seriously ? Where’s that from ?
So, likely only miss 4 or 5 games then ..... -

My Dad saw 1959, 1987 and 2013, no reason for me to add 2021 to 1987 and 2013 !
COYS !! -
I do believe.
It is unlikely, but never say never ! -
Emotional reading and hopefully the kind of materIal JG is using to motivate the players.
Actually starting to get excited about tomorrow.
COYS !! -
So, the bookies favourites have been knocked out.
Favourites to lose again tomorrow ? -
Thank f**k we are getting gubbed the morra we never turn up against St Johnstone.
Only in Perth. We’re ok in Paisley. -
3-0 for St Johnstone - our B team are not doing too well.
Interesting that Malian didn’t even make the squad. Injured ? -
Evening interrupted by a family viewing of the International Space Station - clearly visible speeding across the skies over north Aberdeenshire !
-
Camera angle?
Oh, it might help if their goal is bigger.
Yes, but that’ll only work for one half .... -
Hibs just had a couple of great chances, hit the bar with one.
The pitch doesn't look great, going to be a bit dodgy tomorrow.
I know there’s been much discussion about this already, and it may well just be the perspective, but the pitch does look both wider and longer than ours and Livi’s.
-
It would be but it won't be. Game will be over Inside first half hour.
Unfortunately that’s exactly what I fear. Remember the games against Aberdeen a few years ago - 3 down inside 30mins. Could be the same if we don’t turn up right from the start.
Hope not though ... -
Thanks, but I have a large selection of black and white ones to choose from for Sunday, however, it may come in handy for the final !
COYS !!
After that performance by Livi reserves tonight there’s not much doubt I’ll be needing that scarf for the final ...

I don't share your optimism.
On the one hand we have beaten Livi twice this season, however how typical would it be to lose this one? I'm not sure form goes out of the window, I think that's basically an old footballing cliche, which I doubt is substantiated by any real evidence. Psychology is a huge factor in football, so let's hope Livi get gubbed tonight, and maybe that will influence the result on Sunday.
The only positive, which is another footballing cliche, is that 'our name's on the Cup' and, having beaten Aberdeen and Rangers, we are simply destined to win it.
3-1 Livingston. [emoji20]
Please don’t misinterpret my post as being optimistic. I’m saying you just never know.
I actually think Livi will win 2 or 3 nil, but there is always a chance, albeit a very slim one, that the cards may fall our way on the day and we end defying the odds to win. Highly unlikely, but possible.
I think Fakes will beat Hibs but lose to Livi in the final.

Out of curiosity, do all teams have similarly busy schedules. Just wondering if the authorities are trying to ensure the league gets to the magic 26 games as soon as possible?
I have seen Well fans complaint about their having a heavy schedule in Feb - I think it’s 6 games.
Their main gripe being that it wasn’t their fault the matches were not played in the first place.

Have to agree. Many of us weren’t happy with the player selection and formation on Sunday, I can’t complain tonight.
Not saying I won’t complain, just that I shouldn’t ....
I see Connolly and Reynolds are both starting for United, hopefully we’ll be too quick for them.
I’m pleased to see Siegrist on the bench too, although I’ve no idea what Mehmet is like.
