  1. Me and two mates ( Spencey and big Davy C ) ran a bus to the Aberdeen v St Mirren game in 1980 . A full bus left the cellar bar at £3.25 a ticket . Mind chapping the door of the guy who ran Carruth buses , who lived on Caledonia Street and agreeing to pay him in advance .

  2. Great performance today . Great link up play and great partnerships through out the team . Full backs got forward and constantly got crosses in , Mandron led the line well and constantly linkedup play from the front .Kwon was superb ,excellent positioning ,seldom wasting a ball and constantly got stuck in , Kiltie , Scott and CBM had great games too . Hemmings had little to do , but what he did he did well . Not often I've seen a Saints team where  everyone plays well .

  3. Think he could be a right good player . He was disillusioned at Southend having played under several managers , not received wages because the club were bankrupt and seen some players get the opportunity to move on but himself held back because Southend wanted too much money . His move to Iceland was to make him a free agent .  Could be a great signing .  Wonder if Anton Ferdinand was involved in any way .

  4. So the guy on the right is Archie Rose , Archie played most his career at Stenhousemuir and holds the record for league appearances for Stenhousemuir . Think he might have even been Stenhousemuirs manager when Saints appointed him as a coach . He used to be my boss and would give me the odd Saints story . Good guy .

  5. Checked his twitter account and saw a couple of clips . He was one of the youngest players to get to 100 first team appearances for Southend and also played for Southend when they were in league one . Seems like he was a great prospect as a youngster ( four Southend player of the month awards in a season ) im thinking he naybe lost his way a bit and hopefully Saints can get the best out of him .

We probably won't be worse off from Declan then. I still think we need a backup.

Sort of agree with this . I would prioritise a midfielder , a left back and a central defender above a striker at this stage . Though it would be nice to bring in all four .

I'm looking forward to getting Ayunga back and seeing Nahmani and him play together. The ability of Ayunga to bully defences and get the ball to Stav in space could be a good combination for us with Grieve and Mandron as back up and alternative options.

But how do we squeeze the " mystery striker " into the starting line up .

Think we need centre half and desperately need a left back. Taylor, Tanser are defo not up to it for those positions and Dunne at times is a bombscare. Midfielder would be decent and get Jamieson, Offord, Grieve out on loan....Ayunga prob won't be up and running properly till next year...might need to keep Grieve....still think goalie situation is worrying....

Can you see us getting Theirry Small again on a seasons loan ?

Not having that. He's a brilliant keeper. He will be a massive loss if he goes.

Always considered Carson as steady , does the simple things well , good with both feet and doesn't drop clangers . Think he could be better coming out for crosses . Zach Hemmings with a decent defence in front of him should be OK.  Though I would love us  to go for Vaclav on loan .

We signed Bone from Arbroath for £25/30k When he left us he went to Hong Kong for a couple of seasons before returning to Scotland with Hearts

I seem to think Jimmy Bone just played through the summer in Hong Kong , and played for Hearts the season after he left St Mirren .

    Agree!

If we can get 500K for him, then we will be laughing all the way to the bank. He has had some decent moments, but tends to disappear more often than not. Also very prone to a booking.

Add to that, he has been pretty awful since he came back from the World cup.

Take the money (if offered) and boost the budget. Can be replaced based on our previous transfer business under Robbo.

I think that would be a decent fee , but disagree that he,s been awful . I think we had big expectations of him after the world Cup that didn't materialise , but he is still a consistent and steady performer  who is able to.play at a higher level .

So does this mean we get another members election?

If I remember Mr Scott and Mr Wardrop were not actually elected onto the board by the SMISA Members following the 51% share buyout.
I think the club chairman decided who the last SMISA director was - Mr McNeill.
Can anyone from SMISA confirm what happens next?

AW gets back onto the board but is still barred from the stadium.

I would vote for that .

  13. I'm thinking Shaunessy and Dunne will be top of Jim Goodwins shopping list and will end up at Tannadice  ,  Tony Watt will probably join them .

Think Baccus and Strain  will have had a lot of teams showing interest and Saints will sell both . Ideally I would like them to sign new contracts, but I can't see that happening.  Can see us bringing over another couple of Australian players if these guys move on .

Hoping there's truth in the rumours of the three players coming to us  ( Bowie , Saud, Bedenau ) all are of a good age and will have potential to improve.

Looking forward to seeing who Martin Foyle recommends . Would like us to go with a slightly bigger squad this year .

Pleased that we will have a decent group of players in place at the start of the season to give us a decent League Cup campaign.
