Good Luck to him should he move on, lets hope we use whatever monies we receive wisely
thanks Melmac , with that in mind , it makes sense to move him on , but we could be a bit weak for our cuptie this weekend
-
As a matter of interest , what happens if Jason picks up an injury that will keep him out for a year , Do Ross County have to pay him his basic wage for the next couple of seasons ?
If that's the case , it makes total sense to make sure your next few years income are taken care of .
-
This wouldn,t surprise me , Barnsley are in good financial shape , have sold players for good money in the past , so it would make sense for them to buy a few youngsters in the hope that one or two of them could be sold on for a profit .
That used to be the St Mirren way back in the day

Thinking we will do well today , with fitter faster players coming in , hopefully a fitter faster centre half , a fitter holding midfielder , and a faster striker , also meaning we have better quality on the bench . think I might just make the game today
-
Hoping that if Baird's to go , it will be on a loan deal that will involve us getting Callum Waters
-
he looks supurb , just the kind of player we need to link the defence to the midfield , thinking I might make the game tomorrow
-
he must have played in just about all of Dumbartons games this season , he,s relatively young , and getting a second chance of full time football , so I,m expecting a hard working strong running player , who could maybe come on as a sub , when the midfield is tiring or when Sutts has ran out of steam and bring a bit of energy to the team , so initially I think he would be a great replacement for Clarkston in the bench , and with full time training he might be able to develop a better player and a first team regular , hopefully he will be a decent signing

What about that Paul Simon song. You can call me Pal
-
The new signings are giving us options yo play three or four different formations , quite happy with how JR is shaping the squad
-
Well you called the Shankland one correct , wonder if where Stevie Mallon is off to , and hope we get a decent fee for him , hope we can keep hold of Baird , but maybe send him out on loan til the end of the season .
Happy with Storie and Loy coming in , monies from Shankland , Hardie, Walsh, Hutton and Naismith could allow us to make a couple more decent signings in key positions and give us better shape

Mallan for Barnsley, was the rumour i heard yesterday
Read Barnsley got something like £7 million from the sale ofJon Stones from Everton to Man City , so it would be no suprise me if they improved their squad

Was at old Trafford yesterday and that version was played before the game

If we drop down a league , which is looking more likely each week , we need to have five or six experienced players , five or six young players , and probably five or six players who are experienced and successful in the lower I leagues , we can afford that squad with our budget next year . we should focus on initiatives that keep prices down and bring fans in

I think this can only be a good thing for us. A player with a point to prove, who has a bit of dig in the middle of the park.
Totally agree , also hope this allows Mallan to play further up the park , and also get the best out of the other midfielders , maybe if it works out we may get him on loan again next season .
-
Having a bit of fun here , and I hope I,m wrong , but supposing we are just keeping Stefan McCluskey hanging about in case we get a bit in for either Morgan or McAllister
-
The opportunity to move on is still there , we just need to get thus season over , hopefully a Great Escape this season will set us up nicely for next season .
-
I think the fact we had too many strikers worked against us , not just by leaving us short in other positions , but also by not allowing a decent striking partnership to form .
-
Big McQueen was talking about Love Street 1970 , which was the same as Love Street 1960 , Love Street 2000 was not a bad ground , but we had to move , and I think we will eventually benefit from the move
-
Get us a left footed left back , a central defender that can also play in central midfield , and an striker who can also play in midfield , which would give us a bit of versality , younger versions of Goodwin , McGowan and Lappin will do nicely
-
Allows left back
-
Lots of material for a nice witty song , hope he,s a decent player
-
Its basically cheating isn,t it , Hibs as well , both have decent sized enough squads , and under 20 squads to bring players in from , both must be real desperate for promotion , I wonder what will happen to either if they don,t go up. Reckon Hibs will have to sell to survive , not too sure about Dundee United

Before any business would dream of starting up they would, I assume look at the location and this is the key area for me.
I can't see many making the journey for ANY business if that's all that was there.
Location, location, location for me mate but that's only my opinion.
PS You only need to look at the recent thread where there was a considerable amount of forum users who don't stay in Paisley, and many never have.
No passing trade seems like it's a loser from the start.
Keep it what it is but better managed, that would be sufficient.
I was thinking ( perhaps niavely ) the location would suit a certain type of company.
For instance , I,m always getting phone calls from companies that can offer me better electricity / gas deals , cheaper mobile phone deals , cheaper motor insurance , cheaper life insurance ,cheaper broadband etc , and in some instances I,ve used these companies and saved a couple of bob , I,m also sure the companies themselves have made a few bob out of me , I,m sure a company offering these sorts of services , and other similar services could do well operating out of the club shop , and make money more often than just a few afternoons a year.

I doubt this idea would even break even never mind make a profit. The costs would not be covered as there would be next to no trade during the week. There is nowhere close to the numbers who live locally to support this notion IMO.
You maybe right , but give it some thought , what sort of business would work well there ?
A business which everyone could be a potential user , but one which St Mirren supporters would use , because some of the profits would go directly to the club .

I thought Hamilton continued to profit from McCarthy and McArthur from transfer deals after they left Wigan , likewise I THINK Barnsley profited considerably from John Stones going from Everton to Man City
