I reckon McGrath will go for 500k plus add ons. Ethan not leaving in this window. McCarthy will go for around 300k plus add ons. That is still on the low side as I personally think he will go on to bigger and better things than McGrath.

I think that's how it will pan out . No hurry to sell Ethan , his time will come .

I don't think there is one person on here  other than yourself who knows we are going to be selling players dirt cheap .Take it you are in the know ?.

Think we are doing a good job of highlighting the fact that the players are available at the right price . Just need a few more teams interested to get the right price up .

Would be looking for double whats been offered and a decent sell on . Won't be surprised if a team comes in for both . I think we have to let players go if the right bid comes as that encourages others to sign , knowing that they won't be held back if a decent bid comes. Must be others in Ireland keeping an eye on Mccarthy and McGrath,s progress thinking they might fancy a spell at Saints .

Was it not just called Davie Hay's when he had it? Or just Hay's?

Edit: You probably know it as The Hole In The Wa.

I thought it changed to David Hays mid eighties in an attempt to make it a Celtic pub. I'm sure the Chivas Regal Bus used to run from the Hole in the Wa and continued to do so after the name change.

My first unlegal pint was "The Latin Quarter" at age 15. Later years went to "Stringfellows", now the garage...Latin Quarter was a lovely pub.

Was stringfellows not the lounge area next the  Bob Inn?

I cause Paisley is a cracking place🤣🤣ffs you ever been to a night out in Glasgow? Paisley is a million times worse!

Was speaking to a footballer that was playing in a midweek testimonial at Parkhead for Notts Forest during the eighties, after the game the players all headed to Toledo Junction because that was where the action was.

How would they know if there were any other Saints fans there though?

Not having a pop at you mate, but I’ve heard this “only two fans” thing before and it’s simply not true.
Sounds like there were a couple of guys there who for some reason wanted folk to think they were the only two there and the myth gets perpetuated by other fans.  🤷‍♂️

I believe them, they hardly missed a game early eighties and knew most of the away support. Everyone who followed Saints early eighties knew Simon and Slasher.

There were more than two Saints fans went to Prague. I know of at least another 3.
How would anyone know categorically how many Saints fans were at the game?

Because the two guys that went told me.

He had a sister in Paisley and came to London with a mate Gordon (nickname Gordon the knife or blade) he was a short  stocky guy with a bit of dark hair. Had some great drinking sessions and we got into a few good rumbles 😁 lost contact with him when he moved East end of London 20years ago

There was a Saints fan known as Slasher that used to be on the Chivas Regal bus during the early eighties who went down to live and work in London. Used to be a bit of a west ham fan. Pleasant chap, who was one of the two Saints fans that went to the Slavia Prague away game.

  10. I think we will sign a versatile defensive player shortly. But will chose not to sign any more attacking players until after the League Cup games.  Josh Jack, Lewis Jamieson and Jay Henderson will be given opportunities off the bench in the sectional games and maybe hopefully one or two of them might show they have what it takes to be part of the first team squad on match days. Think we will also get a couple of loanees in during this time, depending on how we show up in the league Cup games.

You can never have to many defenders.....................can you?

I hope one then that can also play midfielder too from a break up play point of view.

Exactly that type of player, with a bit of height.

I would allow McAllister to leave. He doesn't have it at this level. He and Erwin should be let go.

I would persevere with both, whilst they wouldn't be in my ideal starting eleven, they do provide options off the bench. They are also young enough that they could possibly improve over next season. I think both players know they have to improve to ensure a further contract.

It seems for the first time in ages we would have a squad with competition for every position.

I'm thinking we will be a sort of 3 - 4 - 1 - 2 formation with two holding midfielders and two attack minded wing backs.

We are targeting a holding midfielder that can also slot into central defence if required.

I think the extra height in next seasons team will allow us to make more of Shaunessys long throws.

We have definitely kicked on as a squad, as I don't see us involved in the relegation battle.

Wherever he's off to he's on his way apparently. Motherwell seems favourites to sign him according to Raith fans.

I've heard he, s agreed to go to an  English Club. But  is holding out in case a better offer comes along at the last minute.

  15. I've  a feeling we already have a couple of bids in for Jamie McGrath and he will be away by the end of the month. Just a hunch.

Would love us to make a move for Stevie Mallan if thus happens.

Our next signing will be a big strong defensive midfielder to play next to Erahon, as I reckon JDH will be away too.

Watched the extensive highlights, all 3 mins of it. Obika did a Devon Loch in the penalty box, not sure why.

I thought it was a penalty , if you watch Obika cuts inside the Killie player and his momentum sends him flying . The Killie player also goes tumbling , and that's because he has made contact with Beeks . Highlights should have also showed the assault in JDH , which should have been red.

  17. We have jdh until the end of the season, he, s an excellent player but there will be other good players  about. Cammy and Ethan will have learned from him and may kick on and improve. Flynn can probably do the same job. Think if the new signings improve the team JDH may want to be part of what us potentially a right good team.

The red card for Draper though!!!?

Would not be happy if that was a Saint getting two bookings there

    But.  Fcuk em

Draper committed two bad fouls on Ethan in the first twenty minutes, he also went in late and the referee waved play on, and commented a couple of other fouls, so it was only a matter of time before he was booked for persistent fouling. I think he thought he could bully Ethan all over the pitch and maybe win the midfield battle. Ethan went down anticipating another wild tackle and the ref booked draper for persistent fouling. Draper then behaved like a fud and got booked again.
