Agree. I have been working to set up a non profit organisation with town centre regeneration as its reason for being. A time of change which brings problems for some and opportunities for many.

I like it. Change perhaps. We might get back to the pre-multiple stores dominating the high Street and reintroduce difference.

Try going to a game to relieve the boredom. They might let you in at the under 12 rate in the family stand if money is an issue.

Saturdays are the most common days for St Mirren to play their matches and there is free parking available around the ground. Thought you should know in case you ever think of attending a game.

In the early 60s there were around 4 cars in the street I lived in from around 30 houses. Now... This would average around 1 or more per house.

Amazing to think that they won't be there. Closed in Falkirk but not Stirling.

SSS.  Those of us around who were able to follow and watch the team during that period were thoroughly spoiled. We definitely had the feeling that we could match any Team on  our day.

And you dear sir are the original incarnation of Dumb  Dumber and Dumbest person on the Forum.
No contest.  The title is yours.  Why any of us bother to reply to you,  I just don't know.
Pity perhaps... Or merely that we humour you..

    Three good goals.
I rarely missed a game in that period.
The Rangers game yes.  The others not so sure.

    I'm doing just fine thanks.
    You need to lighten up.
    Go to games more often.
Put some money in the pot for the club.

I am ashamed to say. that I now hardly glance at the Championship Scores.  Even less, those from the lower leagues.  Staying in Stirling,  I know they are not having the best of seasons but could tell you no more than that.  I feel a bit guilty that I don't go to games there as they have been my local team since 1993. I take your point though.  They can be  more than a bit obsessed with what the other half are doing to the exclusion of others.

I don't watch Sportscene last season as we weren't playing the teams that feature on it.  I do this season.  I didn't watch games on Sky or BT as they didn't show teams that we were going to face.  I do go and watch some of these this season as they feature Scottish Teams that we will play.  I don't watch Foreign games on TV as again,  we won't be meeting these and I have little or no interest in these matches. I guess we are all selective to varying)  degrees.

Good one for once.  But... do you want me to pick up on all of the; any typos etc on your posts.  I think not.  Glad this amused you (and others).

LB. Taking a ribbing isn't fun.  Never has been.  I tend to send a congratulatory text or one of commissirations to friends who support other teams and you know what,  I get the same from them.  This season I have started going to the local pub for a Diet Coke and to watch the odd televised Scottish game.  The folks know that  I support Saints and treat me well... Even after our recent draw with Celtic.  They probably wouldn't go asking me to their house and I would be the same with them but they are good company whilst still being passionate about their respective teams.

Can't agree.  I very strongly dislike the sectarianism that surrounds them though.  I dislike that this was used to build two large supports which have been polarised around this issue.  I don't like that this led to them having financial advantage and through this dominating Scottish Football. I don't like the political and sectarian songs that have been sung.  I don't hate them though,  nor their fans.  I do see small elements of progress at their home games in particular away from those from the past into more modern adaptations of tunes.  Enough?  Not yet but it's a start.

We played our most consistently high level football under Jim Clunie but enjoyed the football played by Ricky McFarlane and Alex Ferguson.

Yep. I didn't take my kids as it was likely to be crowded.  I recall the crush to get in as the whole body of fans involved struggled to reach a turnstile.

Obviously we dissagree.  That's OK.  This era,  preceded by the arrival at the club of Alex Ferguson saw my kids and many others in the area follow Saints through primary and s condary school as they still do today.   So many highlights during that period.  The North Bank in full voice. Great days.  Well worth remembering and in seeking to emulate these days in the coming years. Outshines the very enjoyable past 18 months but doesn't detract from it.
