    Last season, bringing Gus on board was the right call from GLS.

     

    We had a manager who had no knowledge or experience of the Scottish game so having someone like Gus with his experiences would have no doubt been very useful for Oran to have.

     

    But this season, We have Goody and Sharp in charge, two guys who have played most of their footballing career in Scotland and know the leagues very well.

     

    Surely these guys could have worked with Tony to identify and recruit players without the need of a Technical Director?

     

    Waste of a Wage IMO

    There's a 28-year old forward/striker who Jim used to play with, is proven at this level (13 goals in 35 games two seasons ago), is a free agent and is a cult hero round Paisley parts.

    Erwin would have been a ideal signing for us this season.

    Was outstanding in his last season at Motherwell which ultimately earned him his move to the English Championship.

    I remember "that" game at Fir Park in 2015 where he tore our defence a new one that day.

    I thought we had. Ernahon, Macpherson, Breadner etc
    Breadner featured for less than a minute against Edinburgh City

    Erhahon has underperformed in the Betfred Cup although I do have some sympathy for him considering he's having to play Full-back instead of his natural position in Midfield.

    If I decide to go, I'd rather not see the younger players start.
    I would hope that JG has put a rocket up the arses of the senior players that have underachieved so badly, and demanded a performance that secures commanding victory.
    If they continue to underachieve, then they can be replaced by the younger players.
    Unfortunately due to how thin the squad is, There is no fear of being taken out the team if a player is underperforming.

    If we brought some younger players into the squad, it sends a message to these players that the performances aren't good enough.

    We are short of bodies and it’s difficult for the players as the majority of them have played three games in a week.

    At this time of the season that’s not ideal preparation. They’re not anywhere near as fit as what they should be at the moment and you would like to have more options there to freshen things up like some of the bigger clubs can.

    But I knew taking on the job that we had a job on our hands to get people in. But we’re doing all we can to make that happen before the league starts.

    There’s not enough in the squad at the moment. It would be unfair throw kids in at this stage as they’re not quite ready. We need good first-team pros who can come in and make a difference.

    We’re confident of getting one or two over the line soon but it takes time. I wouldn’t have thought we’d have any in before Tuesday. There’s none close enough to say they’ll be over this weekend to sign papers. Easter Road is the priority.

    Our Technical Director really needs to take some responsibility here, one of his main duties as DOF is helping the manager identify and recruit new players

    He said, "A major part of it is recruitment, getting out and about, building the network and trying to attract players to the club"

    If we are so far behind every other club in the league in terms of recruitment, What is the point of having a Technical Director?

    Gus' 'moneyball tactics' of January has led to us taking a closer look at defensive pair Kornel Osyra and Lukáš Bartošák. 
    Don't know where you heard about Osyra bud, He moved to a club in Poland two weeks ago so I can't see him moving again.

    The Bartošák rumour might have something in it, former teammate of Hladký at Slovan Librec.

    Both trialists (Cossou & Francillette) are nowhere near as good as the CBs we already have the club.

    Thought the big No.6 started off very nervous but came into the game slightly toward the end of the 1st half. Won a few headers in the air.

    Would be very surprised if we signed ether tbh.

    Have you seen into the future and know which forwards we've signed? Feel free to enlighten us all.
    Or are you basing your opinion on 45 minutes of a bounce game with a squad which is at least half a dozen players short of our squad for the season?

    We have a squad that is desperately needing strengthened in several areas.

    If we start judging the team on pre season games against Rosario and Peterborough then this forum has truely gone to s**t

    I have the utmost faith in Goody & Co to bring in quality signings ahead of the upcoming season.
