  1. They shouldn’t have introduced a lockdown at all The reason they introduced a lockdown was purely in response to panic induced public opinion
  2. Professor Johan Giesecke, one of the world’s most senior epidemiologists, who is an advisor to the Swedish Government The flattening of the curve we are seeing now is due to the most vulnerable dying first as much as the lockdown UK policy on lockdown and in other European countries is not evidence-based The correct policy is to protect the old and the frail only This will eventually lead to herd immunity as a “by-product” The initial UK response, before the “180 degree U-turn”, was better The Imperial College paper was “not very good” and he has never seen an unpublished, non-peer-reviewed paper have so much policy impact Is dismissive of the 510,000 figure that was predicted if mitigation measures were not implemented The Imperial College paper was much too pessimistic and did not factor in the now much increased ICU capacity Any such models are a dubious basis for public policy anyway, taking no account of real world specifics The results will eventually be similar for all countries Covid-19 is a “mild disease” and similar to the flu, and it was the novelty of the disease that scared people. The actual fatality rate of Covid-19 will in all likelihood turn out to be in the region of 0.1% At least 50% of the population of both the UK and Sweden will likely be shown to have already had the disease when mass antibody testing becomes available
  3. The sad fat loser needs to get a life!
  4. The background to the government strategy https://yorkshirebylines.co.uk/uk-covid-19-strategy-did-the-experts-get-it-wrong/ Inteteresting that, just a couple of years ago, Neil Ferguson advises the government that, in the event of a pandemic, social distancing, mass testing and lockdown would be a waste of time.....
  5. Analysis from Cardiff, Nottingham and Oxford Universities finds "very little gain" in continuing total lockdown An academic paper from 2020-04-15 models various scenarios to investigate time-dependent strategies of handling the epidemic taking into account the needs of the elderly and those with special medical conditions. Main findings include: Very little gain, in terms of the projected hospital bed occupancy and expected numbers of death,of continuing the lock-down beyond April 13, provided the isolation of older and vulnerable people continues and the public carries on some level of isolation in the next 2-3 months, Isolation of the group of vulnerable people during the next 2-3 months should be one of the main priorities The epidemic should almost completely finish in July, no global second wave should be expected, except areas where the first wave is almost absent. 6. @bazil85 told us that the lockdown was worth it if it saved even one life we now know that from the ONS stats for week ending 3rd April that the lockdown killed 2,607 people were those deaths worth it @bazil85?
  7. We now know that the lockdown has directly killed 2,400 (source ONS) in one week And there is no evidence it will save a single life estimates now coming out that the lockdown will kill 150,000 https://www.rt.com/op-ed/485876-covid-lockdown-kills-150000/
  8. Denmark regrets going into lockdown... We should never have pressed the stop button. The Danish health care system had the situation under control. The total lockdown was a step too far,“ argues Professor Jens Otto Lunde Jørgensen of Aarhus University Hospital. Denmark is currently ramping up school operations again.
  9. The lockdown is killing thousands https://archive.is/2eKCW
  10. Sweden have done no such thing! Lockdown or not, the same number of people will die. The point of the lockdown is to spread it instead of it all happening at once! You seem to be missing the point! It was supposed to be about flattening the curve such that the health service was not overwhelmed. Sweden are doing that. And you have absolutely no evidence that if we end lockdown that it would overwhelm the NHS. Sweden hasn’t been overwhelmed.
  11. 85% of the population of Sweden live in urban areas. They don’t spread themselves out!
  12. Neil Ferguson gets paid by the WHO for advice The WHO is funded by Bill Gates Bill Gates is developing a vaccine Neil Ferguson is in the news today stating that significant social distancing is needed until a vaccine is developed. The WHO says the same. Follow the money
  13. This lockdown killed 2,607 people for the week ending 3rd April. Sweden proves that the curve can be flattened without a full lockdown
  14. The care homes deaths are a bit of a red herring Its terrible that people are dying earlier than they should But the reason for the lockdown is to flatten the curve and ensure the NHS could cope The lockdown isn’t going to eradicate the virus nor is it going to stop people dying of it. It’s just supposed to even it out a bit. As the NHS is coping and the example of Sweden proves that the curve can be flattened without a full lockdown, then the lockdown must be lifted. We can’t continue with a measure that is actually killing thousands of people now on the basis of an Imperial College estimate which made wild over estimations. An estimate produced by people who have a vested interest in having a lockdown until a vaccine comes along.
  15. You’re supporting the rich capitalists and the right wing police state You’re supporting the measures that are killing people in the UK and will kill millions worlwide And the rich, those running the WHO and Bill Gates will get richer on the back of it I know full well what side of the barricade you and the faux left are on
  16. It’s appearing that of the 6,082 excess mortality for week ending 3rd April that 2,607 were not linked to Covid 19 In other words, the lockdown itself killed 2,607 people that week.
  17. In the Telegraph, Professor Alexander Kekulé, one of Germany’s leading microbiologists and epidemiologists, calls for an end to the lockdown as it causes more damage than the virus itself. In people under 50 years of age, severe disease or death are „very, very unlikely“. The general population should develop rapid immunity, while risk groups should be protected. One cannot wait for a vaccine, which will take at least six to twelve months, but must find a way to live with the virus, Professor Kekulé said. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/04/11/german-scientist-predicted-european-epidemic-calls-end-lockdown/
  18. Is this your new coronavirus face mask? Maybe it’ll catch on?
  19. The WHO’s biggest funder is the capitalist Bill Gates The capitalists have taken over and you’re tugging your forelock to them!! Who would have thunk it. btb tugs his forelock to big pharma capitalism and the right wing fascist police state!! eat the rich once said a very rich man!!
  20. You could spend some of the money you’re saving on your own Ku Klux Klan outfit surely? I need you you to give me back the one I lent you you vile racist
  21. It’s interesting that yesterday’s ONS figures showed 6,082 excess deaths but only 3,475 Covid 19 related deaths Now this could be because Covid 19 deaths aren’t getting mentioned on the death certificate but is this actually the case? is the lockdown itself playing a part in all these excess deaths? Nicola Sturgeon appeared to allude to this yesterday The lockdown will kill more than the virus in the long run. Let’s hope it’s but also killing more than the virus in the short term
  22. 16 domestic killings as a result of lockdown, including children https://www.theguardian.com/society/2020/apr/15/domestic-abuse-killings-more-than-double-amid-covid-19-lockdown
  23. The second biggest funded of the WHO is Bill Gates And of course, Bill Gates will produce the vaccine Its therefore in the WHO’s interests to create as much hysteria as possible All vested interests
  24. For the idiot who harps on about care home deaths being covered up, the ONS weekly reports can’t hide all cause mortality. Anyone with half a brain can figure it out and how many more folk are dying in the community. It a shame the foolish sociopath seems to take great delight in posting about people dying.
  25. Just 19 patients treated over Easter weekend at 4,000-bed NHS Nightingale hospital in London Few patients were treated at the new overflow facility as intensive care capacity at existing London hospitals never went above 80 per cent We appear to have gone way beyond “flattening the curve” which was the whole point of the lockdown. I admit that I now know this virus is more lethal the flu for certain vulnerable groups. The lockdown can’t go on for ever and a vaccine won’t be here anytime soon. For the vast majority, this is a mild d or non symptomatic illness. The vulnerable are being isolated, I see no reason for this lockdown to continue. It’ll kill more people than it saves.
