All games are on normal tv thankfully. Wonder if that might be the last time it happens. Looks like a great atmosphere building over in Munich, hope the fans have a great time. As for the match, I anticipate a defeat and unfortunately a first round exit as normal. Seems like the team peaked about a year ago and have lost form since then. Hope to be wrong about that.

It looked that way to me, although watching on my phone maybe isn't the best for clarity.
We played reasonably well but the final ball/pass was either the wrong decision or poorly executed.
As usual in these games some plusses and minuses so not going to bother over analysing.
Only thing I will say on players that I thought Conway looked worth a seat on the plane.
It's all down to Clarke and I can't wait till next Friday.
🤣🤣🤣

Conway was born in Taunton, England. He qualifies to play for Scotland through his paternal grandfather, who was born in Stirling.
In March 2024, Conway said of his plans for UEFA Euro 2024 if unselected for the Scotland playing squad, “Scott Murray funnily enough is the kitman at Bristol City. He’s driving from Bristol to Germany with his brother. If I’m not going I said I’d be jumping in with him. It’ll be class." He was reported, "Through his late grandfather Danny, who hailed from Stirling, and dad Joe he is a passionate Scotland fan."
Thx for the info, that’s why I’ve never heard of him. Personally don’t agree that players with only an ancestral connection be selected instead of Scottish players. Goal scorers are thin on the ground but Murray would have been a more obvious choice. He has also been on form. Four goalies also not required for what will likely be three matches, so drop two and bring in Danny Armstrong. Just saying.

Germany will be terrified ,I’m sure ,of this change. Never heard of him, is he Scottish ?

Yeah can’t understand why we don’t just sign a goalkeeper, plenty in the Championship who would do a good job for us.
Me too.👍

On loan reserve goalie again. That’s where we are nowadays.
-
We don’t seem able to hold on to a lead at times, but I suppose Celtic just about deserved to win.

Draw was correct result.

Killie are a good side with a few really good players and a top rank manager. We ran them close but no shame in losing to them. Still in with a good chance of qualifying for Europe so not all bad. Steve Clarke could do worse than include Danny Armstrong for the Euros, a tricky wee winger who puts in a great cross.

Really? Why am I not surprised…. 😜
Go on then, tell me.

Wasn’t overly confident pre match, given our away form, but we were streets ahead of Dundee and thoroughly deserved the win. Just within touching distance of a Euro spot now. Let’s not blow it next week. 😋🙏

Even with my black and white tinted glasses on I can say there Is feck all way Rangers deserved a win today ..
As for Europe - we are in 5th place so it's for Dundee to try and overhaul us
Huge game next week - but if we play like we did today I can't see us losing
Fair enough, that’s your take on it but I thought Rangers were marginally the better team. Whilst Dundee are two points behind us, our away form is dreadful and I expect a defeat up there next week. We have really slipped recently and it wouldn’t be a surprise if we lose the next three matches. Celtic is a cert, Killie are a bogey team and Hearts look to be our best hope of points. Certainly hope to be wrong about this but have a bad feeling.
-
Goalie to blame for the first goal, should have left it to run out. Rangers were quicker to the ball as expected and some of our passing was a bit careless. Not much in it but Rangers probably deserved the win although we had a few chances. Have to say, Scott doesn’t look much of a player, very disappointing as a permanent signing. Would be great to qualify for Europe after such a long time but can’t see it somehow. You never know, though. 🤞
-
The expected defeat- no such thing as a “free hit”. - and it seems every other team is still fighting apart from us. Very disappointing despite reaching the top 6 and with five games remaining it’s hard to see other than sixth place. However, with a dodgy defence and poor attackers we have certainly punched above our weight. Let’s see what the remaining fixtures provide.
-
The wind definitely spoiled the chances of a good game. Having said that, Saints were poor and rarely looked like scoring. Hearts are no great shakes either though, and certainly nothing to be afraid of. However, our recent form seems like the end of last season and whilst it’s good to be in the top half of the league, the possibility of no further wins has to be considered. All In all though, a decent season. I’ve witnessed far far worse. 😁

I was at that game but couldn’t remember the goals other than the o.g. 😁

If my memory serves me well, Scotland fans "booed" the national anthem of Liechtenstein. Their national anthem has the same musical melody as the national anthem of England and Northern Ireland I believe but with different words.
I personally believe booing other countries national anthems are a "no-no" but that's just my view and I thoroughly understand that won't be other people's thoughts on the matter.
I do take your point that not all of the Northern Ireland team/management sang it.
I understand the feelings surrounding this verse. My view is as the late, great Roy Williamson once wrote "Those days are past now and in the past they must remain."
I'm also a fab of something that another great Scot, Hamish Henderson, once said which was something along the lines of "Love your country for what it is, not because you hate another one."
My personal view is "God Save the King/Queen" should only be performed at an event when the monarch is present at and England and Northern Ireland should have their own individual "national anthems". All of that is probably for a different thread though.
I also wish "Scots Wha Hae" or "Dark Lochnagar" was the Scottish national anthem but that again is probably more suited to another thread also.
Well said. 👍

Likewise my Grandmother.
The booing of national anthems is a disgrace! What a small minded country we really are! Embarrassing behaviour from the so called "Fun, cuddly and welcoming Tartan Army"!
In general you are correct, but you may have noticed that only a couple of the Irish players joined in the singing with their fans. I would also be very surprised if Scotland fans were to boo any other anthem than that despicable ditty. Plenty of proper jeering at the end of each half, deservedly so, for the pathetic display by the Scotland players who have thrown the towel in from the minute they qualified for the Euros. I do not exempt the manager from criticism either.

Rarely see a full Scotland match( thanks to satellite tv) but team looked even worse than I had suspected. Germany will massacre that lot in the Euros. This latest defeat was in effect by an English second and third division select. Does not bode well for them.

You say that, but they have only scored 3 more goals than us all season which means that before yesterday they had scored 2 less 🤷♂️
Many thanks for putting me right. Don’t know what I could have been thinking.

Agree with earlier posts about team selection, which ought to have been changed but when you play Killie you know exactly what to expect. Our team were like children being shoved aside by men, totally embarrassing.Killie were brilliant second half and thoroughly deserved their win. I honestly couldn’t see our team fight back from a position like that. Final point, I can see both old firm teams dreading a visit to Rugby Park to face a team who get stuck in and have bona fide goal scorers.

Great result. The last two minutes were tremendous. 👍

Clarke should be replaced after the tournament, he has selected players either out of form, unfit or lacking match fitness. Add in relying on players from the English second division and thinking they could compete at this level. The goalie for one, is hopeless, Hanley, Ralston, McGregor ,McKenna and others rarely play recently. Back before the postcards as usual, while even smaller countries than ours make a fist of things. ‘‘Twas ever thus.
