Absolutely...  and hopefully we can get the 3 points that will secure a top 6 place

Probably too early for some on here, but what these last few weeks have told me is,  we seriously need to strengthen this team to have any chance of getting there next season.

Hearts,  Dundee Utd,  Motherwell,  St Johnstone will all be stronger and challenging next season

Agree with you on strengthening the team, in saying that I think if honest the club are ahead of where they realistically thought they might be and that's where squad limitations are being shown up.

I think you are right with 3 of the other clubs with the exception of utd whose financial situation might work against them as they may have to start selling assets.

As bad as it was today, better having a top 6 showdown game opposed to a relegation showdown

Loads pf Sevco fans allowed to stay outside stadium all day , despite Covid restrictions and now the players come out to celebrate with them ??? FFS

Sanctions ? Not a chance, why on earth didn’t the police move them on from before lunchtime ?

They were probably in the crowd😉

Ordinarily I’d hear you loud and clear Oaky and I’d go as far as saying I’d begrudgingly agree with you. However, I struggle to get past the fact that the 2014 No vote was founded on at worst barefaced lies or at best false promises. Not just wee white lies either. Big whopping game changers. How can that vote be held up to scrutiny when so many (particularly swithering voters who need guidance) were so shamelessly misled.
Realistically, even if one was called tomorrow it would be unlikely to be anytime soon. Let’s call it 2024. 10 years seems like a nice round number to me.

Would I be right in saying that one of the sweeteners was the naval ship building moved from devonport to scotland by government? Not sure if it was but can remember my dad rambling on about justice served after moving car assembly plant at linwood to ryton. Nothing like a good bit of burning bitterness🙄

  4. It's maybe just me but I'm getting a bit tired of reading how well st johnstone/livington are run................🙄

For the first time in years we have strengthened the team where necessary this season, last season some players were brought in to steady the club and provide a basis for where the club is now.

Not forgetting we actually extended the manager's contract instead of changing manager.

  5. To be brutally honest to get anything from this match will be a huge bonus. SG will have them fired up to push for the entire league season unbeaten. As much as it would drive some mad I wouldn't be bothered if we didn't venture out of own penalty box if it meant getting a point out of it.

However, I do think Accies with beat the perth lot especially as it's on their howlin pitch and they are more used to scrapping to stay in league.

  6. 'the next level' should be to stay a top six team. Let's face it the SPL is made up of 2 teams going for title and the other 10 going for 4  places in top 6  to avoid the relegation scramble of the bottom half when league splits.

Indeed we are having a great season, hopefully carry on next season and beyond.

I can’t believe some of the comments on here. I mean folk saying they’d take county’s right back over ours and we’re not sixth on merit. Look we were not great and haven’t been for past three weeks but we’d have lost these games in the last. The mentality is changing and the back line are driving it - well done to them and Marcus Fraser should be offered a new improved deal ASAP. Outstanding of late particularly at Aberdeen . I wouldn’t want Watson, Naismith or Andreu back - we’ve got better and we are A better Team than them . Well done saints today a close nervy game but you dug in there and got a vital win . COYS

Strangely I actually think that some prefer 'the great escapes' or play off final penalty shootouts opposed to where we are now🙄

If Quaner is fit and the rest of the team learn basic ball control and running off the ball - then there is still hope of a top six finish.

Instead it is likely that nothing much will have changed and we might scrape another 0-0 draw against Ross County.

Or tell them to shoot instead of fannying about might be quite a good tactic, has worked before🙂

I did actually, it was a cathartic moment.  It's amazing that I had never had a cathartic moment until 2013 when I and many others learned what cathartic meant.

I love a bit of catharsis.

Not too long ago I was at Spennymoor v Darlington and Darlington v Gloucester.  Bloody guid fitba.  Adam Campbell plays with Darlo now.  That's not league 2 right enough but rather the national north I believe.

But honestly, what level of stupid do you need to be to be pay in excess of £100 a MONTH (or whatever it is for Sky, BT and all the other pish)to watch an English team, managed by a German, packed with French, German, Italy,  Spanish and Africans against an English  team managed by a Norwegian and packed with players from Spain, Holland, Belgium, France and Africa.

Give me the michty Mirren vs Ross County on a pishing wet afternoon any day!

My local team, workington play(soon again 🤞) in league below Darlington and it's not too bad for what it is with proper tackles🙂

I remember Darlington playing at Reynolds Arena before that went tits up too
