Hamilton have better players than us , they're on an horrendous run but they'll still beat us. McLean being allowed to leave tells us all we need to know about those running the club now , God how I wish the club had ben sold last month !
But we have a solid central defence!!
-
have we changed to answering the opposite of what the question asked?
-
Give me a week to think about this....
-
It is now time for Mr Gilmour to act.
Go and make Wee Baldy an offer he cannot refuse
He must be given the St Mirren Manager's job so he can sort this mess out and keep us in the top league.
Andy Millen to assist him, if possible.
Do it.
You been watching Starsky and hutch?

Yes they will. Absolutely. They will come out with a spiffing pricing idea to get some more bodies through tbe doors next week to bolster support in an increasingly vital game. They will try one of those 'pay what you can afford' deals like ICT. Maybe one of those 'in for 10p' one-offs like Accies... Or an equally interesting idea of their own making. They will make a statement asking for support and solidarity at this time - on the club website, and the Chairman, who frequents this site, will make a post on here....
...and in other news, I'm getting a three-in-a-bed this weekend with Kylie Minogue and Carol Vorderman, I am going to win the national lottery, get picked for the European Ryder Cup team, and overnight, be able to play guitar like Jimmy Page.
You forgot to add that the BOD believe that Gary Teale will be the next Alex Ferguson.
-
BOD are to blame for this. Getting exactly what the deserve for their penny pinching. We should have brought in an experienced manager till the end of the season at least.
-
No doubt he is but you can't deny that tackle at Kilbowie was an absolute shocker. It was a studs up direct hit on Norrie's knee, a quite horrific tackle that he never quite managed make a full recovery from.
Without that injury he would have played at the top level in England imo.
Agreed.
-
Norrie was indeed better than Paul Lambert. It was sh*t face Grady that ruined his chances he would have made a big move no doubt and played for Scotland.
-
That was truly pish.
-
Gary has done a reasonable job up till now and should be given the job till the end of the season. If the board were to change manager at this late stage of the transfer window then I'd lose the little respect that i still have for them. We need stability and someone who knows the players and how they work. Get it sorted BOD!!!
-
I hope Arquin can achieve the hero like status of the legend Billy Mehmet.

Clean sheet today and clean and dry underwear on the Forum tonight.
St Mirren 4 Dundee 0
Shades of season 1976/77
I'll take 1-0 and an OG. Paul Hartley is a wee **** and I'd take great satisfaction in beating his team. We'll jump above Motherwell even if they draw.
-
It would be really helpful AND really easy for the BOD to make a statement on this fiasco. I don't need nor want to know details, just is the takeover on or not? This is just dragging on and it's not helpful to the team especially when we are bottom of the league at the moment...far too much uncertainty.
-
I was already looking forward to corned beef pasties!!
-
Aye, and if they have had enough, what do they do with the club then? Spend five years like the current sellers looking for the right guys? Murray - Whyte - Green - Who the fcuk knows anymore....
All I'm saying is that, admittedly due to the nature of it, both 10000hours and SG made themselves open to public questioning over many meetings, with a dedicated website for questions too, plus REA making himself available through this forum.
Do the Argentinians or selling consortium NEED to answer our concerns? No - it's their ball and they don't need to. However, given what SG and Co have witnessed at other Scottish clubs, and given that the Argentinians (you'd think and hope) would want to engage with the supporters of the club they've just bought... Is it unreasonable to ask that both parties make themselves available to answer supporter concerns?
I would hope so at the very least, if they want their takeover to be a success then getting the supporters of the club on side would be a good start.
-
Oh I agree - give them a chance. None of us know anything about them. A forum is about opinions, and my opinion is based on experience of other Scottish clubs. Hearts, Livingston, Dundee.
It wasn't good. I am not weeping and wailing, nor am I running out to buy an Adidas Argentina top and a flag to wave at games to laud our new owners who will lead us to Europe and Scotland's second force....
Under the current owners long tenure, we haven't been utterly shit like a Morton or suchlike, nor been up to the heady heights of second spot and Europe, like a Motherwell or suchlike. We have been decent, up and down, but hanging in there. Stable, well run - and pishing ouselves laughing at Rangers, Hearts, Livvy, Dundee, and Gretna - as we continued safely bobbing along on the good ship St Mirren.
There was a lot to be said for bobbing along plotting a steady course - until the captains of the ship wanted to jump in the lifeboats and get the hell out of there.
In all seriousness, British guys fcuked up Rangers and Gretna. Johnny foreigners fcuked up Hearts, Dundee and Livvy. Questions at Raith too.
Where are the examples of 'traditional owner' guys like SG at St Mirren, Thompson at Dundee Utd or Milne at Aberdeen being replaced by shiny new consortiums - with those new guys being successful in Scotland while running the club sustainably and properly without it ending in tears
I remain troubled, and I make no apology for feeling that way.
I think many fans share your fears but there's nowt we can do about it. We will still be here if/when they decide they've had enough.
-
Aye, it's like we've won the Cup again.
Where's the Open Top Bus ?
I think the new consortium's first signing should be to bring back fans favourite Billy Mehmet
-
I'm not sure how this is going to pan out but one thing is certain, we were going down for definite with the current set up. When we hear what they have to say and what their plans are we can perhaps make an informed judgement. This takeover will at least, if nothing else, lift some of the apathy that has surrounded the club for far too long.
-
I refer the honourable gentleman to Manchester United and some bloke called Ferguson whose side kept losing.
Also... Butcher took over at ICT when they were in a relegation spot.
Won games as per your prerequisite. .. got them out of the relegation zone... and relegated.
Butcher also had the initial wins at Hibs... before leading them to relegation.
Teale is playing with Craigs decimated squad. Judge him if he is allowed to bring his own players in and given time to make his mark.
Ultimately it's not my decision. I like Teale,... I hope he turns out to be great... I have my doubts, many agree...
-
When any guy, regardless of what club it is, is given a job, the first thing that must happen is for the team to win a few games. We have won 1. This might be harsh on Gary but i can see no good reason give him the job.
-
This should be the BOD must go thread! Not Teale!. I feel sorry for the guy getting thrown in at the deep end.... BOD do your job and bring in a manager who might be able to get us out of this.
-
Based on what?
1 win in 5. Don't care if the previous manager was a dud, if Teale was to get the job he would need to have won a couple of more games. He hasn't ....next...
-
We need a boss quickly, whether it's an outsider or Teale. The longer it takes to appoint one, the harder it will be to turn this mess of a season around and save ourselves from the drop.
-
The board need to make a decision very quickly and we all need to accept it and move on. I don't think the time is right for Teale but if the BOD think it is they must back him and bring in some new faces ASAP. If we can't find a striker and a central defender at the very least, we'll definitely go down.
