Any more information on William Dorward? A William Dorward was a good golfer in Carnoustie in 1914. He returned to the town in 1919 to win the golf championship for Scottish football players (an annual tournament). He had been ‘in association with West of Scotland football for a number of years’. Wondered if he was the St Mirren player mentioned here. Dorward emigrated to the USA in 1921 giving his occupation as an engineer living in Clydebank but became a professional golfer in America.
