I’ve already booked my hotel ( had to switch from the original 28th date ) as I’ll be up there working 😎👍

Blimey. Well reminded mate. I’ll need to change mine! 👍

ETA - £11 cheaper on the Tuesday night. 😄

Do RC get extra money for the coverage? If not I'm sure they'll be unhappy, as what little away support that may have travelled will almost certainly be impacted. by this decision.

Don’t most people have access to IPTV or some others means to watch games regardless of whether they are on Sky or not?

For example, I’m up in Scotland that week and intend to go to the game. The fact that it’s on Sky makes no odds to me because I could’ve watched it in my flat anyway if I’d wanted to. I still plan to go. I’d say most people prepared to travel to Dingwall on a Tuesday night in February are probably die hards who will go regardless.

I don't remember any sanction for Maeda (I think) barging Hemming into the advertising boards after he had cleared the ball on the sideline. That looked

    a) deliberate and

    b) endangering an opponent.

I watched the game live on TV, not sure if it appeared on the highlights for those of you at the match.

Correct, nor the acrobatic overhead kick in the midfield which meant Tanser (I think) pulling out of a header when the ref shouted and waved his finger at the Celtic player but failed to give a free-kick to Saints despite there being no advantage.

Inconsistencies don’t mean VAR was incorrect in the Olusanya incident. It means they were wrong on the other ones (although I couldn’t comment as I don’t recall the incidents being referred to).
I was only responding to HSS’s assertion that VAR got it wrong. They didn’t.
ETA - the 2 incidents being referred to don’t sound much like a straight legged studding to the face of an opponent. Especially a goalie who we all know are protected more than any other species.

Olusanya was well within his rights to make an attempt for that ball Hart was also well within his rights to dive into a dangerous situation

The ref got it correct with the yellow card VAR got it wrong with the red

Sadly they didn’t though. Endangering an opponent whether deliberate or not, is (albeit ridiculously) a straight red. Them’s the rules now. Bloody stupid.

I think this is all a ploy to get our Scottish Cup odds to win pushed out. 😂

I have a gut feel that this could be our year. But I get that every season.

Our league form in 1987 was poor - but I’d happily swap a bottom 6 league finish for a Scottish cup win.

It was 37 years ago - jings!

Scottish Cup win over a top 6 finish is a no brainer. Especially as it now gets you guaranteed European football till Xmas which you wouldn’t get from 4th or 5th (or even 3rd unless Celtic or Rangers won the cup).

Ever since the cup game at Easter rd it's been obvious.  If the opposition get in amongst us early and keep at it then we simply don't perform.  Anyone watching that game could see how easy it is to knock us out of our stride and I think the spine of the team is missing.  Without a decent centre half who is not gaffe-prone like Taylor & Dunne we are forced to play Gogic there when the team is better with him slightly forward.  That leaves O'Hara exposed and there is not central striker option at the club.

Strain has been a big loss as his final ball has been more successful than what we get down the left and he gave the midfield a breather with his runs, Small looks a definite prospect and i think we should have Fraser on the right and Thiery in left back.

McMenamin hasn't produced any goods yet and we paid a fee for him, with hindsight there were maybe better options around at the time however he didn't seem to be a punt for the manager, he was hell-bent on getting him in and unless Conor turns it around after the break I'm afraid it will be time to cut that particular loss pretty soon.

We could still threaten top 6 again and I'd be contant with that.  If we can maintain that status then the manager would deserve another year, which would depend heavily on his January and summer signing targets.  The board should look very critically at the names he puts forward because if it still doesn't look right at that stage then a decision point has been reached.  The model is to supposedly bring in talented underperformers, turn them round and sell on for a profit. A good strategy that relies on a good eye, so far the only decent money we have made in years has been in selling on the youth-scheme graduates.  That tells a story that neither the board nor the manager have the industry nous needed to build us beyond the current level and we will slowly sink into another downward cycle.

You’re advocating dropping Tanser who has arguably been our player of the season so far??

I honestly don't think Robinson knows how to fix this we are going to be in big trouble very soon.

The one thing we’re not going to be this season Elvis is “in big trouble”. We’ve already seen to that. However we are going to be in a really disappointing place compared to where we thought we might be at one stage. Unless there is meaningful change in the January window, I’m predicting 8th or 9th.

    Settle down

we need to steady the defence and either find a final ball supplier or a striker-maybe both

Other than that, not much needs changing, unless the manager can't see the above.  In that case he would need changing too

It’s definitely the final ball supplier for me. It’s not like our strikers were missing sitters. We’re just not creating any clear cut chances.

Scores are paramount. They scored, we never remotely looked like scoring.

They were easily the better team. We were terrible.

I’m one of the few people on here who sticks up for you with some of your posts, but the second part of your post above is frankly utter bollocks.
The first part is true. I never fancied us to score at any point tonight, but to say they were “easily the better team” is utter nonsense. They were absolutely terrible. We pretty much dominated any meaningful possession in the game but were infuriatingly powder puff in the final third. Killie had something we didn’t. A goal scorer. And more worryingly that is becoming a common theme.

  10. I think the most notable thing about tonight’s result is that for me we’ve lost to the shitest team we’ve lost to this season (as in on the night). Killie were f**king shite and they still beat us. Another 3 defeats coming up without the slightest shadow of doubt. Beginning of Feb we’ll likely be 8th in the league.

Robinson got his plaudits when we were doing well. He better get his finger out now. I predict he’ll revert to the Robbo that starts talking about finances and lack of quality.

St Mirren 0-1 Kilmarnock, half time.

A familiar story, nothing in it, if anything we've been the better team, but we can't buy a goal or keep a clean sheet.

I agree with all of that except “we can’t buy a goal” which I’d extend to we can’t buy a chance.
We completely dominated that first half and had the vast majority of what I’d call positive possession, but we’re back to the bad old days of getting to the final third and having no clue. And as used to happen, the team that has barely been in the game, goes up a scores with their only chance through a combo of them having something remotely resemble a goal scorer and our poor defending. Killie had a wee flurry after the goal while we gathered ourselves and then we were back to us dominating the ball but doing f**k all with it.
It’s so frustrating and really feels like St. Mirren teams of old.
