Did the Sherwood not used to have one?? I seem to remember being able to check whether you were late for school on it or not walking up Greenlaw - I know the tower was falling down about 15 years ago and they took it down and put that stupid looking metal thing on top instead.
The clock at Sherwood (now called Sherwood-Greenlaw) was taken down about 20 years ago, when the steeple became unsafe. It was returned to the council, who owned it.
The "stupid looking metal thing" at the top of the church's stump was erected about 15 years ago, as part of the church centenary celebration. During that project there was talk of restoring the clock to its original position. But, if I remember correctly, it didn't happen because the council would not agree to its ongoing maintenance.

5. Pirates at Braehead. (3,000 people know that was just "wow.")

1. The weather. (Dark, cold, damp, windy, etc.)
2. The litter.
3. Bar closing times.
4. High prices. (Yes, Paisley is expensive.)
5. The airport departure lounge.
It was nice to be home last weekend. Despite the foregoing, I love the place. Can't wait to get back.

Guess it was inevitable, but the Oman censor has now blocked the link to our burd of the day. Merry Christmas to them. Some people really need an examination.

I often use Skype to call Oman to UK, USA and Thailand. Much cheaper than Omantel, and the quality of connection varies. (The other caller often cannot hear me.) Best time to call seems to during weekend mornings (Oman time, GMT+4) ... before the septic tanks get out of bed to clog things up.
