First midweek game on me tod was St. Mirren Programme Archive (stmirrenprogrammes.co.uk) , first away on me own was St. Mirren Programme Archive (stmirrenprogrammes.co.uk)
I remember you telling me that the first time we met was outside the Market Bar in Montrose,no doubt with a bottle of coke and a bag of crisps in hand
You got the details of that one?

I was 10 years old. Seems a bit mental now that parents would let their kids do such things at such a young age. I certainly wouldn’t have let my kids do that.
That said I do believe we were a lot smarter/savvy as kids back in those days.Would need to think about that one but I know for a fact that this game was the first I was ever part of the North Bank

My cousin and I sneaked away from my Dad and Uncle in the wee enclosure and headed round to be with the “ big boys” We had to sneak back to enclosure at HT and then back to NB for the second half We were losing until late on,got an equaliser then I remember the NB singing “All we are saying is give us a goal” and we went up the park and scored the winner Back round to meet the parents at FT and that was me a member of the North Bank 🏁🙂🏁
Strange how I struggle to remember what I did yesterday but wee stories like that stick in your mind forever

I knew they had reopened it , but when I passed yesterday there was one of those "for rent , may sell" signs outside it. Have they just not taken it down , or is it remaining on the market ?
I noticed that too Not sure if they have just taken a short term lease to see how it goes or if the Agents are just lazy 🤷

Not noticed anything about it on here, but it appears that The Afton has been opened a while and is operating as…
… a Rangers Bar? Low key, as they say. But it will show “the Games”.
Inn on the Corner.
ETA: reading the final page of that (someone had to do it!), it seems shut again.
I think the link you have posted is from the pub reopening as the IOTC……which was a total failure due to fighting in the pub every time a game was on It only lasted about 6 weeks before they realised their mistake
Opened again 3 weeks ago The folk from the Anchor Bar have taken over after leaving the AB due to complaints about noise from the residents of the new flats across the road Imagine buying a flat across from a pub then complaining about the noise!!!! Anyway it’s been mobbed every weekend since it opened so looks like a good decision by them

Stringfellows, had many a good night out in there in the late 80s early 90s, I'm sure it was known by another name at one time,
Was sad when it closed, possibly mid 90s.

The 68 game was just a wee year to early for me I was going to the football that season but I wouldn’t have been taken to that one
The first game I remember v the original rangers would have been in the Scottish Cup of 70/71

This would have been a good topic on its own instead of hijacking the Hibs thread
