I'll be there - the St.Mirren way means we'll beat this mob then get beat by Well and County - was thinking of going to Motherwell but they too are charging full price for a midweek televised match. So NAW!!!
COYS etc such enthusiasm...

We are all guilty of the odd outburst of frustration, however, I agree with Oaksoft. Paying 20 quid to get into a footy game doesn't mean that you can act like a lout. Go and support the team, sing the songs if you wish and if the ref gets it wrong or the opposition cheat, there may be a bit of frustration and or occasional (f**k sake or that's shite) but it isn't a ticket to act like an idiot for 90mins.
At the end of the day times have changed and we need to adapt to that in that we want a new generation of fans? Then we need to convince people to come along.
I didn't see the incident yesterday and I sit in West Bank areas discussed so not having a go at the folk from yesterday, just more of a general point.
That's the thing honestly there hadn't even been a particularly bad outburst it was just - decision wrong or something and the usual oh ffs ref , your fookin hopeless etc etc
-
they spoke to folk at either of the my row and I have to say at the time whats going on as nothing had happened. Was totally shocked when heard it was about swearing as there hadn't even been any rants that I can remember. I agree with DavidG that some folk swear for the sake of swearing but yesterday as just normal game swearing. Bizarre IMO

away games have always been the same - its a day oot alcohol is consumed by many etc etc. Give us a performance, goals and a result and the atmosphere will come, same old same old.

Firstly who the fook buys the shite that is the daily record anyway? So if he did actually state 'Paisley is a shitehole' then he is a total arse - by all means say you think it could do with a revamp blah blah but you don't come out and call it that. Why - because Paisley isn't a shitehole, some parts are pants like anywhere else but on the whole NO it isn't a shitehole.
Journalism - lets twist words and make big headlines - did he say we neglect our families - NO he said we prefer to spend little money we have left on the club than spend it on our families. Again that is shite - so Tess some how knows us all and what we do with our 'little' left over money? I'm sure many of us do have little left after the bills but many more will have a good bit left GENERALISATION - so easy to do.
Overall - this article - MEH

As a West Ham fan I definitely think there is truth in this. When you have so many bad times shoved down your throat it makes the good times taste all the more sweeter.
I see no pleasure in expecting to win the league every year. You either end up disappointed or you just meet expectation, you never get the feeling of over achieving, that must be horrible.
Give me the life of a Hammer or a Saint over a Celtic or a Chelsea any day of the week.
Yip exactly - winning the league in 2000 I can still remember SO SO much of that season the games, goals, so much! Could a celtic fan remember loads about every season they have one - I doubt it very much.
A wee bit more success would be nice tho haha, but even the relegation battles are memorable haha

They brought a wummin' in once to assist CK. Remember that? Think she lasted a fortnight. Probably got sacked for suggesting something that wasn't a dinner.
Last bit made me lol as the young yins say!

Forgot about that. Two words immediately spring to mind. 'Billy' and 'Abercromby'.
Didn't forget about the book but Aber totally sprung to mind! So who wasn't in a good place then and couldn't do an interview - WHO FOOKIN CARES!! Write it yersel and get him in the book - its BILLY ABERCROMBY!!!

life is never dull

Ah they are on the hunt for a pub to run their bus from, did they run one from the wig and pen
I assume so, obv popped in there to try new pub as game was on and thought oh this could do. Can't say I pay much attention to the wig and pen but someone said it closes and reopens a lot so hopefully be opened again soon. As I said not a bit of bother but long term.......hmmm

I was just reminiscing about Carnegies yesterday, while discussing how Paisley and it's pubs has went downhill since i started coming up in the 80's and 90's. It always seemed busy and lively in there. Enjoyed many a visit.
Carnegies was fab 3 floors full. Nowhere like it now sadly tho I think I'd be too auld for it anyway!

Happy Birthday to ya bud, love ye! xx

Wondered where they would go, maybe just a one-of as they didnt know the Wig was shut and had to find a pub showing their game
Pub was mobbed before apparently and some of them in watching the game. Was in til about half 8 last night and pub good and busy they were all up in the front snug bit, apparently they asked about running a bus but were told no. Apparently the real ale The Brewers Tap (now named brewers droop much to annoyance of Georgie) is lovely and only £1.99.

The green oiks public house (wig and pen/bombchuckers arms) has closed its' doors this week, won't be missed
Get it back opened cos a squad of them were in langs yesterday!
-
I've always said I don't see any need for it and I wouldn't be stood queuing for a pint when the fitba on BUT yesterday a pint would have been good cos that was utter drivel!
-
I've noticed that the old Pillars, corner of New and Old Sneddon, has been getting renovated this week.
Now if only someone could do something with the other 2 empty corners.
Carnegie's - when that was the place eh? That whole area is deid noo to think the size it was and full wed- sunday.
Looks like Corkers has shut down.............again!!!
been shut a while I thought?
In langs tonight -sorry The Brewers Tap Same lay out - everything cleaned up , decorated etc and guid banter with the boys. The BEST bit - barstaff aren't allowed to swear at customers now - so obv you have to try make them - totally recommend :-)
-
I would rather a Saturday at 3pm, don't mind Friday nights really but not with that mob, Monday nights - just fook off!
-
I'm not sure how widely it's been publicised but Saints fans should be aware that Langs pub is under new management / ownership and re-opens this Saturday (7th Feb) as The Brewers Tap. Don't think the layout will change much but there will be some craft beer / ale on sale alongside the usual selection.
I know the new owner and he is keen to make sure that it continues as a "St Mirren boozer" so I wanted to let people know.
Good to see a long standing Saints friendly pub opening its doors again so I'll be paying it a visit!
I had mentioned it on pub thread on here. Didn't make it in yesterday but popped head in on Friday to see Liz - defo getting a guid clear out. Look forward to my first pint next Saturday :-)
-
Well that was my first away game in a long time and it was magic! It wasn't pretty but who fookin cares 3points achieved! Cheesy and Goody were outstanding and wee Mallan is fab and Drayton - not a bad debut!
How on earth can they not show that tackle on Osbourne tho - seriously - biggest talking point of the game????? Same reason they didn't show Arquin's actually should have been a penalty last week - cos ye cannae show St.Mirren being hard done by - happy to hound Goody last season tho!
