  1. After a few years away from membership of my beloved supporters bus and all away games... normal service has been resumed!

So time for a wee thread on here again, for those on Twitter a page will be set up there soon by fellow member Darren

Obviously no times or prices yet but The bus is based in The Brewers Tap (Langs) Moss St., and leaves from Old Sneddon Street. Tickets can be purchased from the pub during the week.

The guys who were not there missed an incredible night. Not just the score but the performance and atmosphere. That was up there with the games at Motherwell and Falkirk. The togetherness between team and fans is possibly the best I have experienced. A memorable night that won't be forgotten. :)

yip fab night, and the atmosphere is just going to keep getting better...3 sleeps til Falkirk COYS

    From the very start
    Open up your heart
    Feel that you're a part
    of everlasting love

    this love will last forever
    this love will last.forever

    and repeat

A tweak is needed to get a chant that flows and can be sung over and over. The above seems to fit in almost perfectly with the music. However, there won't be any music (just clapping) when we sing it, so it's maybe a bit too complex just to get the "this love will last forever" bit in, which is a different tune and key (maybe we could stop clapping at this bit?).

Personally I think the first four lines looped are all that are needed, is catchy, and is far more likely to be sung.

If the banner is shown, folk will get the link I'm sure

I think doing it without clapping to be honest cos the clapping would be awfy slow....arms out singing...and yes im now trying it oot.... clap the first 3 lines then arms oot...Josh battering the drum.

and I should have just posted these lines rather than say from 1.15 - arse hehe

I will confess to having an interest in St Mirren Warriors as my best mate plays for them.

I never realised how much it cost them to keep the team going.

They fundraise through bag packs and flag days etc... and had budgeted for the season.

Problem they face is that they are in with a shout of making the play offs... In June... Which would be in Worcester and cost over 2k for travel and accommodation for a team of 12.

I have been to two games this season and these guys are an inspiration.

I watch footballers roll around feigning injury at every opportunity... and then see double amputees upside down flipping themselves upright whilst tied into a chair with not even a moan!

St Mirren Warriors play home games at the Lagoon and at Williamwood.

Each home game costs over £500 to put on as they need to hire the facilities, pay the referee, and give the visiting team snacks.

I have a declared interest butif SMISA are serious about community involvement then I would love to nominate St Mirren Warriors for future consideration.

I think this would be a very worthy cause.

The three options seem fine in principal, however the costs seem a bit high:

Adult season tickets is fine but surely the club could give them out at a vastly reduced rate or even for free, if they can be sure they will be used by appropriate groups.

Hall of Fame boards should have been done years ago but if poz, who was involved in designing them, says they can be done a lot cheaper then that should be explored.

Instead of sponsoring a youth team, why not have a tournament for local youth teams at the ground, the dome or the training ground at the end of the season? SMiSA could sponsor it and the money could be used to give each kid a goody bag full of Saints related goodies. Plus the folk from the youth academy could use it as a scouting session to see if there's any decent talent out there.

    Youth tournament - excellent idea!

  10. The season ticket option - £6,000 is a hell of a lot of money and I think giving out free tickets to clubs and schools is something the club should continue to do on their own. I get the 'try and get more people through the gates/interested etc but I don't think SMISA should fund it.

The Boards....no idea about covering up etc but if its possible to cover it up go for it and spend the money on new ones.

Sponsoring a youth team...no great aye or naw for this tbh.

Right now no great ideas of what could do but do we need spend everytime, wouldn't it be nice to get a wee nest egg going...mibbe something bigger for the future?

Not a fan never have been but aye it works starting up a song, could hear it fine from W4 - ridiculous to section off W6 tho and can imagine it looked silly hence the ayr fans mocking.

leave W5 alone as there are season ticket holders in there, let's try and do this without folk having to move unless they all happy to, make W6 and W7 an area where folk can stand (if not affecting view) sing, drum, do the flag thing.

Referring to it as the singing section is daft - that doesn't help the them and us attitude that is apparent  we sing/you are all old boring farts.

Our section started songs numerous times on Saturday when the drum wasn't going. Goals and performances - atmosphere takes care of itself. I am not in the least against this group of fans making flags, making noise, wanting to be able to stand but if the drum hadn't have been there on Saturday there would still have been singing. Not every bit of atmosphere is down to the drum as some make out and again that's creating this them and us attitude.

Some of us will sing no matter what, some never, some when they feel the game dictates it and some maybe the drum encourages them....as long as the drum is used to start songs and doesn't just become a constant drumming throughout every game (that's why I hate the feckers) then fair enough if folk feel passionately about it enough I hope it works - I am not saying it doesn't add to the atmosphere or doesn't encourage some people to sing....me personally could take it or leave.

Pozbaird's post above makes a lot of good points....the new ground isn't the same, the fitba has been dire the last few years...give us a season like 99-00 again and this discussion wouldn't even be needed.

If the team keeps playing as it is atmosphere wont be a problem at al! We are all St.Mirren singing/drumming/old codgers/boring farts together.

EDITED TO SAY - Loving the 'this love will last forever'.....can we get this into a song/get a tune to go with it, think It would be a fab phrase to sing/chant.
