My tuppence worth on all this, not just this thread but the many times over the years organised singing, displays and drums etc have been discussed.
Fitba is changing ....Some folks want displays and singing sections etc....I'm old school in go to the Fitba if I want to sing I sing. Some folk song no matter what ( and let's not kid ourselves alcohol plays a part when ye have a group of guys singing when we down and out). Which ever way you support the team is your way and right for you. ...none of us are any better than each other it isn't a competition. In the past folk, like myself, who aren't interested in displays and organised singing have been labelled old, moany, boring etc. Wrong! Everyone of us there yesterday or be sat there on Wednesday night are there supporting our team, we have got up off our arsed and put money in the club and sat there watching. Just cos we don't agree on how to support doesn't mean we should bloody argue about it. When the team comes out at the final I want to stand, shout come on saints and clap like feck, if folk want to hold up a flag or whatever go for it! I do NOT want my view restricted by a big flag....who would? Big flags for display and not bothering anyone smashing go for it.
NOW for the controversy. ....I don't post on here much anymore but I am sure some will remember my views on drums from years back....I HATE the feckers at Fitba. ..ibrox. ..thumping head every time just shut up and sing! I've always said if there was a drum at love street I'd give up my season ticket.....yesterday. ....I have to admit I didn't hate them....I'm not saying I loved them and a col of times I did think not again....but when the singing is as loud also the drum ain't that bad. I deliberately stood to side of goal in middle of terracing cos I knew the boys would go up the back centre....I couldn't have been too close it would have done my nut in. If they sat a couple of rows in front of me at love street (aye I know it's not love street ) I'd probably end up stealing their wee drumsticks! I have therefore come to the conclusion that I aye just a bigot cos I didn't like the ibrox drum!
We are all there to support the saints....appreciate that we all different personalities, different way of doing things and all want the same thing. ..For saints to win so accept that and do your thing your way and just respect out individual choices. But I swear if ye ever sit next to me with the drum....well aye I might not listen to my own advice [emoji4] -
Ref...arse! Team...braw! Support...outstanding...McGinn. ...class and much needed. Me....happy! The fight back is well and truly on!!!!

A fantastic turnout for Tam, the family, the Broons and myself walked round to Tam's seat laid flowers, put the flag up and had a wee rendition of oh when the saints and there's only Tam McGarry...very emotional but Tam would have loved it. We all sat out Tam's backdoor later on and I don't think I have ever sang oh when the saints so much. RIP Tam xxx

They got their guard of honour from Alloa....is it normal practice to get another???? They have won the league, they have the trophy...they have had their day. This is OUR last game of season at OUR ground, our chance to say thanks and goodbyes to Thommo and Goody. Bloody disgrace ground be full of them, for those saints fans staying away I do understand. For me....I said they would NEVER stop me going to my own ground....tho this is the boars keeping folk away. I dont agree with the stand set ups for today at all...but I shall be there...blood boiling likely but i am not missimg last game of season. Board....you have fooked up bigtime!!!

Was it also called Faithers or In Laws or was I on the snakebite too?
was that no up the west end?
Reading thru the last few pages its guid to see more pubs and eating places coming into town so could we just get the high street etc sorted and lets make this a wee fab wee town please! The Wallace being a snooker hall sounds good - not that I play but its too big a building in a prominent spot to be lay empty and snooker hall would be something different.

Great stuff. A feelgood story involving St Mirren and club officials coming through for you on the big day....
Excellent. Applauds all round then!
Yeah credit where credits due. First I have been to a wedding there, and previous problems aside, the whole day ran really smooth, staff all great not a single problem or gripe at all.

SO the wedding!!!! Well as much as Saints f**ked up bigtime previous with regards to communication I personally CAN'T fault them since - I phoned SG he responded and got Brian C involved and I can't fault him either - once in communication with him - fine! When we arrived yesterday there was still a few of them milling about, I went in and he said see it's all ok - my words were - 'naw there's a guy oot there standing at front door in his celtic shorts get him moved for the bride and groom arriving' and he was. Brian then took me out and showed me the dug out and tunnel green and white free. Everything from then on in great.
Highlight of the day - the bride, Jenna, had bought wee Paul a signed shirt from 2013 cup winning team as a wedding present which was presented by Thommo after the meal. Thommo stayed for a couple of hours, chatting away to everyone and took them down for fotos in dugout - Thommo is an absolute gent and a total credit to our club!!! Jenna had left her fone with us at one point to take fotos, she realised this morning that Thommo had taken it at one point and took a selfie with wee Paul's papa - priceless!

I'm obviously one of the ones that needs to get a life. I know how beneficial the money will be, but in my view, the whole thing makes us look like a 'Mickey Mouse' club. Those photos have been shown across the media, and I think it makes us look like a wee team, who will do anything for a bit of money.
We are where we are due to the shambles of last season, but the fans have bought season tickets in good numbers and there's been an element of forgive and forget as we look forward to this season. Why are we, yet again, talking about an issue that is controversial amongst a proportion of the support?
I've always been supportive of the Fans Council, but seeing fans with alternative views being described as 'pathetic' and being told to 'get a life' by a Fans Council member starts to make me wonder about how inclusive and representative the Fans Council is.
HE isn't. end of.

No drums required last night.....performance resulted in fine singing and noise from all saints stands....Top game!
